Not Needle nose

Needle nose:

I went looking at one of my Harbor Freights for those today and the dude said they must have been stolen because, he couldn't find them :dunno:

He went on to say that people stole the Icon stuff as fast as it went on the shelf.

I might have to bite the bullet and order them online. :wtf:

Entirely possible. But did they even have a spot with the other pliers yet? My experience with new tools at HF (mostly Icon), is they don't show up on the shelf for awhile and they have to look in the back for them if you ask.

Some people are also too stupid or lazy to look or make any effort looking for it. Like everything else, sometimes it's all about who you talk to/helps you.

Can you tell the class why? Genuinely interested.

Don't own them. Never used them.
But I could definitely see the design being very useful in certain circumstances.

Not sure how well they work in place of a more traditional pair of pliers. But I'm going to pick up a pair of the Icon version. For the price it's worth trying and see for myself one way or the other.

I'm definitely not paying Snap On prices these days;

@Fedwrench and others...
I was told the merchandising planogram had to be updated for the new pliers before they would be displayed, but that they should be out soon. They had both pistol grip pliers in the stockroom and said I was the first person to ask about them. Initial impressions are very good. Fit/finish and machining is excellent. I've been putting my other Icon pliers to the test in the field and they have held up well. Looking forward to the other new releases.

the opening range is useful, the jaws are very grippy and go both end on and from the side for grabbing stuff with. The pistol grip and length give a tremednous amount of leverage and the grip makes it a natural feeling extension of your hand, when reaching in to a tight spot to pull a pin or squeeze a clip or whatevr. IT's not the first pliers, but it's on the list if I had to pick a top ten. I have two, because I wanted to have one in two places.

I was hoping you'd say that. I'm getting older with a bum hand and am looking for tools that will help me along.

Swung by a different Harbor Freight today, asked an employee to check in the back for the PSRP-10 pistol grip pliers. a few minutes later, he emerged holding a set. I thanked him profusely and wished him a Merry Christmas!!! He replied that providing him the SKU59805 made finding them a breeze. These pliers have unique jaws similar to Knipex twin grip or Vampliers for gripping damaged screws.
I also picked up a Quinn 1/4 comfort grip 90 tooth ratchet and an adjustable scraper. I was able to use the 10% off everything in the store coupon for the ICON pliers, and the 20% off all Quinn tools coupon for the ratchet & scraper.

Jumped on the bandwagon and picked up a set of the new Icon pistol grip pliers. Like Fedwrench I also had to ask someone to find them in the back for me (as I've done before with other new tools).

Very interested to use them next I work on my car or something else. I also picked up the Icon angled long needle nose (non-pistol grip version) and a small silicone parts mat while I was there.

I hope HF will offer the silicone mats in different colors, and maybe offer a magnetic version and/or a cheaper version of Snap On's overpriced magnetic mats.

Been meaning to get one of these for a while...

I lost track of mine, and often wish I'd had two, so...

Do you have the Big Gator Tool drill and tap guides? Definitely worth the $

I have one of those form a funnels also, and needed it on a prior car with the oil filter over a frame rail. I sold the car 8? years ago and haven't used it since. But I'll use it again when I do my "about every decade" air compressor oil change.

What is that thing?

Mike
A drill guide. Helps get perfectly straight (or perfectly angled - it has 30° and 45° holes) without having to use one of these things:

I don't need one often, but handy

I have missed mine for some time, and have several cars where it is a great thing.

Thanks. Can you post a link for the drill guide?

I should probably buy one of those form-a-funnel, would help a LOT with my tractors. I usually cut a plastic bottle and use that. Sometimes it helps, other times not so much.

Haven’t been disappointed in any of the Craftsman v-series offerings. Ratchets have gone way down in price from 3rd party sellers on Amazon. This one is $33, with the FACOM going for a third more. Kind of sketchy though, because I received the 3/8th drive side of what was originally a two pack 3/8th and 1/2. Cardboard hanger cut right down the middle. Must have been some kind of dealer promotion from Stanley on the two packs.

Early on Lowes had the 2 packs like that, I got my 1/4 and 3/8 that way but remember them having the 3/8 and 1/2 too

I've been eyeing this Astro wireless charging work light for a while, finally pulled the trigger.

The empty slot on the charge is just taunting me to buy a 2nd now!

Great lights. I have 2 of them. My older one is a little "loose" where it folds, but otherwise no complaints. Very bright and they've survived being dropped many times (thus far).

Never got around to picking up the wireless charger.

I wish my HF light had that battery meter. Some of my other lights do, and it's nice to have. It would be nice to know before I haul my fat *** under a car that I only have 3 minutes of battery remaining, lol.

I bought one for a similar purpose and after I had used it once or twice, thought, "Geez, ya couldn't just use some aluminum foil for that?" So I got a shorty roll of aluminum foil for my shop. Years later, I used it to keep drippings off some hoses when I dismantled something and I quickly found out what a fussy, fluttery pain in the **** the aluminum foil could be. So hooray for lead! (Inside plastic... do not gnaw on Super Happy Form-A-Funnel.)

I later solved that oil filter/frame drip by poking it with a big gutter nail and letting the filter drip out overnight. Much less sploosh, or no sploosh, depending on car.

M18 paddle switch angle head grinder, tool-only... I used a cut-off wheel to cut all the 1/4" deck bolts left in the frame after I ripped off the rotten wood... and switched to a grinding wheel and dressed any left-over stubs, and cleaned up some of the rusty spots w/ a wire wheel. Used 1 tick on the 8ah battery I already had... this is a excellent tool. Has just as much power as the corded one still back at our place in CA, and cost less on sale to boot.
