I payed $10 for this 28 piece set at Lowe’s a few days ago. The finish is outstanding. The Green Bay game was getting boring, so I measured the open ends of the SAE side and they were 0.004-0.007 over. Pretty much the same form factor as my Proto’s that are from the 80’s if I remember right. I’m amazed. Works out to $0.36 per piece not counting the decent wrench holder. Selling for $25 now. Pretty much cheaper than Garage sales. The Gedore are from Vietnam, and have a thinner profile European design, but nice finish. The Kobalt are made in India. Crisp stamping I think.

I wonder how many brands there are of that exact same ratchet crimper.

From a quick search, several (Titan, etc.). More than a couple at prices between $15 and $25. Good luck getting any warranty on them, but probably wouldn't ever be necessary.

Just my usual ADHD brain diarrhea. I have Xcelite crimpers that look identical (except with the Xcelite blue handles). I've seen them branded Ideal, Klein and countless others too. It's just one of those things I noticed, and wondered if anyone else did too.

First time for me to post in this section. But I ask question awhile back about this tool which received lot positive comments. So by recommendation of GJ, I order one with swivel which hasn’t arrived yet.

You should try the Macnaught KY Plus coupler over this. Smaller, works better, releases under pressure and actually has a 2 year warranty. It won’t blow apart like this one. First KY Plus I had lasted me almost 4 years. That’s with extensive use.

I'm not sure they're "from the same factory" as the Klein, but I didn't look that closely. They're definitely highly similar.

Couldn't resist.
Then I looked around my garage and thought, man I have a few Harbor Freight items that I really do like a lot. Hmmm, maybe I am one of them.

HF has come a long way. Good place for us DIY guys. They've taken over what Sears used to do for tools for me. I was a Sears guy until they disappeared from my area. HF came in a little while after Sears left (not in the same location though).

This is really true- many Teenaged shopping experiences were going to the mall with my parents and ending up in Sears tool section with my dad. now that they are gone where else can you go to find the stuff you need. I am a home gamer so no tool truck. They have also come long way in the last 10 years.

New Stanley knife to replace my old one I lost over the holiday. I was pretty sad to loose my old one, which I’d had since 2012, luckily you can still buy the same model. Hopefully the old one turns up as it has developed a nice patina

Today I found the old one. Not sure where, I was using it and went to put it back in my pocket, then realised the new one was already in my pocket. So I guess it was in my hand all along?

I have several DYNABRADE air tools. The quality is the best. The prices for these tools are very high. I have no regret

hence i buy them used. But thanks to no interest in them prices are ok.

First time I went into a HF was about 20 years ago. I needed a cheapie heat gun to remove some insulating material. They had a yellow cheap heat gun for US $9.99. Bought it, it ran, and lasted the time I needed it for the job before giving up the ghost and dying on me. I didn’t want to use a good quality heat gun knowing it was going to get covered in adhesive and sticky goo, glue, etc…..I think HF has come a long way, and, when you have a messy task, great to be able to buy tools at a price that makes it okay for single use applications.

Agree completely. I’m a ‘buy once, cry once’ guy and I’ll always buy Made in the USA when available. That said, the quality of HF’s offerings has improved dramatically IMO. As @CGarage noted, there’s also a place for their cheaper offerings. The tools on my boat and for working on the dock fall into that category … they have a way of finding the bottom of the lake!!!

I've always been leery of spraying water around (and inevitably standing in puddles of said water) while holding something plugged directly into 120 volts of electricity. I know, millions of other people manage to do this safely.

About 3 years ago I bought a Ryobi electric pressure washer at Home Depot for around $90.

It quit working after about a week.

I was headed to the dumpster with it when a friend stopped me. He told me to cut off the cheap, made in China GFI and replace it with a real one before I threw it away.

I did what he told me and it's still running strong today.
Used frequently on a busy charter / commercial fishing boat.

I have a "regular" 3/4" Dynafile that I also bought on Ebay ~10 years ago. You may be able to change that over to the "full size" model if you have a need, and buy the necessary parts. I bought the standard 3/4" one and emailed them if I could change it over to use a 1/2" belt and got a reply with the necessary PN, or PNs, to do the swap; I think it was only the tensioning bar. Of course, I haven't needed to use the 1/2" belt, but I'm ready

It does not fall under lifetime warranty because it’s electric or gas powered. Just 90 days. Even their tool boxes have only 90 days.

Got my BOGO from Astro…….thanks. Always find it interesting when companies include sizes that have no use. I/My company makes large aerospace machines, for some reason the engineers always call out SHCS. Every size from 4mm to generally around 20mm sometimes larger. So i almost only use hex sockets. With that said, this set includes 7,9,16, and 18mm. Obviously every company does it but with SHCS it seems odd.
Have any of you used these sizes?
