Went onto the tool truck today at work. Picked up this slightly used snappy 3/8 out of the trade in bin for $75. Seems to have seen only light use so I was in for sure! Dual 80 - FH80IMG_9943.jpegFH80

Nice pick up. I don’t know if you’ve messed around with the F100s yet, but imo they don’t feel as good as the 80s.

I would avoid the F100s for now. They have higher back drag than the 80s, and there's documented problems with the mechanism free spinning if you push on the center of the direction lever. It's a sloppy product release by Snap-On.

I'm so grateful that in return I got him a pair of Klein 1006 crimpers for his early birthday present. He had a Snap-on crimper that failed at the pivot, he got them warrantied but the replacements are so damn stiff/tight they **** to use. Been almost 2 months using everyday & still haven't loosened up a bit at all.

put one handle in a vise. Tape a sawzall to the other. have at it for a minute or two. Might want to put a drop of oil on the pivot first

My dealer just got out of his original panel truck and into the bigger one. He’s been doing the change over the last couple days. I went to see how it was coming along and to warrant a broken garden hose attachment (not shown in the pic).I definitely don’t have the willpower to not spend. Especially at his shop. I don't have a picture of them, but I got the 14 piece Mac rbrt SAE set today. I've been very happy with my USAG 285x in metric unfortunately they don't make a standard set. The Craftsman has something similar, but it has a lot of skips. The Mac set is complete from 1/4to 15/16. I picked it up this morning from the Mac guy and used it this afternoon changing a drive shaft hanger bearing on a semi tractor and they worked very well, especially on the bolts that were crusty and rusty and flaking. $309 was enough, but not terrible for 14 pieces and the nice folding case. As I work on a fair amount of older stuff that has some corrosion or damaged fasteners these are going to be real handy.

I'm pretty sure that it doesn't have same warranty. But it was way cheaper than a regular one. I don't use it to make a living so I'm fine without the one year warranty.

My latest purchases, Blow-drying gun for upholstery (copy of the Tronador at 1/4 of the price). Mayhew 25" blue lever (the blue was cheaper) about €24-$25.85. I also bought the 31" one for about €40-$43.09, it will take about 6 months to arrive (Amazon), but I think The wait will be worth it.20240502_191905.jpg20240504_171107.jpg

Another part of my big hex key order arrived. The Eklinds are for the house. Felt the need to support a really local company. Still waiting on the extra long Bondhus. Really needed them the other day at work but they are still on backorder and it looks like they might cancel that part of my order. 😕

I decided it wouldn't hurt my feelings to have a longer version of this thing since the Icon kit has been so dang useful. Will be interesting to see if there's any difference other than length (I keep hearing that some versions have less teeth/etc. - can't recall if that's Toptul, Facom, VIM, etc.)

Picked up a SHLFD80A in Hi-Viz. Was on offer for £210 ($260). Curious to know what it sells for in the USA?1000040776.jpg

I was kind of curious. So I Googled your part number, SHLFD80A. Listed for $288 on Snap On web page. Listed even higher, $399.95 on eBay, which is just nuts. Snap On is often sold here by tool trucks. No idea what your ratchet costs off the tool truck. So I guess it looks like you came out ahead by $28 American dollars. Snap On is expensive. But supposed to be very good quality tools with lifetime warranty. How do you like that ratchet?

Do you happen to know if that warranty is worldwide? Because a lot of tool companies I see with lifetime warranties don't actually do that in Europe. Usually USA and Canada. The website I found doesn't mention how long the warranty is either.

edit: The website I found is https://snap-on.eu/ btw, just to share what I did find.

That’s a good question. No I do not know for sure. They sell tools here in the USA with the life time warranty. Assumed it was the same outside of USA. Thanks for pointing that out.

They normally retail at £290 ($363) all UK prices normally include Tax unless stated otherwise.

We have tool trucks, generally not as big big or as well stocked as the American ones. Warranty is the same, break it and they replace it.

It's a lovely ratchet. Solidly built and very smooth

M18 Fuel 7-1/4” circular saw with 12.0 battery. This was one of the few tools I still have been using a corded version of all these years. Last weekend when using the saw, I placed it down while the blade was coming to a stop and managed to sever the power cord. I’ll fix it…. But thought this was a clear sign that it was time to “cut the cord” haha.
