You folks may not consider yourselves to be "influencers", but you are causing me to suffer (or benefit from?) tool influenza, where I continue to pick up odds and ends at somewhat of a fevered pitch.

I've officially caught the Inkzall Flu. I got a 6-pack and already passed two along to my wife:

inkzall.jpg

And I thank you for all that you do!

I haven't purchased a Sharpie since I discovered these Milwaukee markers. Huge improvement!

I bought a cheap boroscope camera from ebay for about $35 shipped:

I have a mystery pipe in my basement that I believe might lead to an old storage tank. I want to stick a camera down there and see.

Plus, when we demolished the ceiling in the living room, I can see an old, flat box (like maybe a board game box) sandwiched between the old plaster/lath boards that I am dying to know what's inside of it. It's sandwiched in such a way that I can't get it down without cutting boards and/or dropping a ****-ton of blown in insulation all over the place. I figure I'll just cut a hole in the side of the box and stick this camera in there too, lol.

When you figure out whatever is in the ceiling, you can post in my thread 👍

I love my electric pole saw, definitely would not go with a gas one again. Chain saw eh idk if I could give up the gas one lol
I have two Stihl gas ones but they are packed away in storage for the time being and I need a saw for some light work yesterday...lol

What brand of electric pole saw do you have - I went with DeWalt just because I already have 20V batteries and chargers.

I do have a lot of DeWalt 20V tools and batteries so I went with a bare tool pole saw and a bare tool 12" chain saw.

I have this exact saw and love it. Compact, quiet, top handle. I grab it all the time for quick, small jobs. It’s a great complement to a full size gas saw. Does tend to leak a bit of bar oil though.

I've found that if I store it with the fill cap facing straight up, it barely leaks at all. Agree that it's a great little saw for odd jobs.

I tend to use a Q tip to smear a minor glob of dielectric around inside the boot, then install.

Glad I'm not the only one who uses Q-tips in the garage! I use them for applying all kinds of grease (and sealants) to all sorts of things!

Mine are in the spark plug drawer... YES... I have a labelled spark plug drawer. Old style Craftsman Tool Box with a million little drawers. It's perfect for the 5 or 6 sockets, Two pliers, spark tester, thread chaser, Gap thing-a-majigs.

Where's the pic???

Just picked up this Craftsman (King Seeley) bandsaw, 103.24280, for $25 on FBM. It works, rubber tires in pretty good shape, runs quietly, needs a lot of surface rust removed from the lower 1/3 of the pedestal stand. My first bandsaw, so I'm not really sure what all to pay close attention to, or to adjust, but for $25 I'll learn.

The CM jointer behind it is about the same vintage (late 50s?) I picked up earlier in the summer for $50. Not that I really care, but now I have matching pedestal machines.

A cordless belt sander. I'll try to pretend I didn't see that.
Milwaukee sells then now... based on the 3" cutoff wheel base. I built one with a custom attachment I bought on fleabay. It's the BOMB... you got to get one... now that Milwaukee put it all together for you.

It's fast and well balanced... and does not require me to uncoil my air hose for the "Old One" I used as a donor to make my Milwaukee one.

Was running low on sharpies, so since I keep seeing these damn Inkzalls, I got on the bandwagon. Grabbed a few at HD. Strangely priced at $1.88 for 2 and $4.18 for 4??? Did a quick test and I like. A thinner line than a sharpie, but not too thin, just right.

I'll confess, sometimes I intentionally avoid this thread just because I know where it will lead. So to get in and out of here and only spend 8 bucks, well I'll call that a win.

A little bit more of my Gedore order arrived, these Pliers were also on Amazon through a 3rd party , KC Tool and they included a complimentory German Philips2 bit.
COO Austria
A little more of my Gedore order trickled in from amazon today, 1/4 bit screw driver , COO Germany. Not the one I was expecting though. Buying Gedore on amazon is a hit/miss experience and i recomened that if you do , choose options from 3rd party sellers as those went the smoothest while the ones fulfilled by Amazon, 50% of it was late/wrong /delayed feedback on a returned item/ a month to wait for replacement etc.

Made by Americans with American parts with glass lenses to help my ageing peepers to peep better...
There were other off shore cheaper made, but I wasn't necessarily looking for cheap knockoffs...
Nicely made and works well... I'm pleased with this tool purchase...
I also got the flip up eye loupe for extra close up lookin (I need to get it installed)...

Amazon had these for $2.20. You read that right. Assuming maybe it was just the inserts, I decided to see what arrived before posting about them. The price must have went back up today which is still a bargain at the current $8.05. Might watch as Amazon prices have been known to fluctuate.
I grabbed three so I could have one of each configuration (round, square, bare) without having to switch inserts.
Made in Japan, I believe by IPS.

I would have spread a few around the shop for that price.

I was working on my neighbor's Ford Escape, and could not get 3 of the 5 lug nuts off one wheel. At first the outer caps spun, then the inner nuts just kept getting rounder and rounder. :(

Next day, AZ delivered these guys and no more drama!

I also bought a big red impact wrench, just because.
I haven't used it yet, as it arrived after the job was done.

I can't wait until the next time I R&R tires. To run fasteners down, it has a mode which applies no more than 50 ft-lbs of torque, preventing fastener breakage.

Caught these Hazet striking cap screwdrivers on clearance at KC Tool. I love European screwdrivers, just something about how they fit in my hands.
I think those are made in Slovenia by Oplast (they also make screwdrivers for Gedore and a few other brands).

A few things mostly motorcycle related:
Can't recall what they call this type of spanner but I only had 2 before and they never seem to work for what I was using them for so I got this whole kit. They are quite thick and seem well made, it was just some random Amazon brand.

Look into half size sockets, they usually do the job pretty well on those stupid lug nuts with the caps that swell up.

Well, snagged up a fair bunch of stuff this week.

First, jumped on the Lisle 51250 Spark Plug Boot Tool bandwagon, because GJ,

Lisle 51250 Spark Plug Wire Puller.jpg

And another 3-pack of WorkPro folding utility knives. These are cheap but great. Luv'em. Can never have too many.

WORKPRO 3-Pack Folding Utility Knife.jpg

And a Chinese-brand Deackimei Cordless Soldering Iron Station that works on a Dewalt 20V Max Battery. They also have other versions for many other brand's batteries, like Milwaukee, etc, even Harbor Frieght's. This surprised me how well it works. I'm a big fan of this tool already.

I'm not a huge fan of the tip it came with though. It uses Hakko T-12 style soldering tips. I wanted to get genuine Hakko tips for it, but everywhere I looked here the price was as much or more than I paid for the iron itself. There's plenty of cheaper brands of China-made ones that are available, but I've not had great experiences with them, so I went looking on the other side of the pond @ Amazon.jp and welp, once I saw the price differences I wound up picking up a couple Hakko tips and then some, lol ...

WISE 2030 L-Key handle and 002BR Adapter Inserts for it. It's a cheater pipe for allen wrenches that lets you get on them from different angles. The adapter inserts are for use with smaller sizes.

WISE 2030 L Key Handle and WISE 002BR Adapter Inserts.jpg

And Engineer screw extractor pliers, PZ-59, PZ-58, and PZ-55 which came with a catalog that's all Japanese, but I can look at the pictures. They make a lot more stuff under that brand than I had any idea about.
