Last week I realized that all of the Wiha 5-screwdriver sets I purchased an armful of at Lowe's in the summer of 2023 to give as Christmas gifts had Phillips #1 and 2... but no #0! For friends of mine who might get into the smaller stuff, I'm getting them some Vessel Ph. #0.

I love love, love. Love love the knurling on these screwdrivers. I didn't realize that was a thing until I tried them.

When I need more torque, I don't screw around. I use black iron (natural gas) pipe, measured by the foot...

I'm amazed that I haven't destroyed any of my old school Craftsman ratchets by now...

Mike
Hey.... You stole my reply....

I was going to say there's a reason God invented black pipe.

I do like the fork tube idea from @ChefRex though. Shiny and easy to clean.

What are these mini HF toolboxes good for?
I keep a few things handy on my tool bench - a pry tool, a marker, a couple pencils, a tape measure, a box cutter, a screwdriver, etc.

All of that stuff has gone in the box, and is pretty handy without being in the way. The other one is going into my hutch. I haven't put it in there yet, but some similar items, plus various USB cords, ties, etc.

They're not changing my world, but at the $10/ea. price I'm very happy.
Nice e30! Looks to have European bumpers.
It does. And a later M3 motor QZQuRJ.gif

Garage Journal strikes again, saw these mentioned on Mike’s thread a an alternative way to hold bolts for wire wheeling. Have done the careful finger vise method, the pliers or vise grip method and these look like the solution I never knew existed…
TIL .......

I am currently resisting the urge to buy another tool..... Thank you for testing my resolve. This is character building....

And I see the person I should be blaming is Mike.

S52 - US-spec (E36). Honestly, this car would need a LOT of updates to handle the 333HP S54. The Euro S50 is rare and hard to find, and would suffer from the same upgrade-needed things - bigger brakes, which requires bigger wheels which will generally mean a conversion from 4-lug to 5-lug, etc. etc. - several thousand dollars for the parts to do that and a lot of work.

With the current 15" 4-lug wheels, coilovers and the S52, this thing is a hoot to drive and not lacking anything I feel like fixing in terms of power. I need to get more aggressive pads on it though...

(but I digress... ;))

Needed a quality tool to remove a heavy duty retaining ring from the Delta 820 motor I'm rebuilding...
Found an Ebay auction and won this NOS Knipex retaining ring pliers for $16.99...
I'm very happy with the quality... Nicely made...

This allowed me to remove the shorting necklace, which will need replacement as part of the rebuild...

Not really "tools" but definitely enable work (snow removal, at a minimum) out in the cold weather...

Picked up some winter clothing items at ****'s (Sporting Goods) today. These don't show up clearly on my cell phone camera, so here are the stock pics from their website:

Ski / snow pants

Ski Mittens with removable liners

Ski Gloves

The pants are replacing a pair that is over 20 years old, very worn out to say the least.

The gloves and mittens are to replace some that seem to have vanished since last winter. They'll show up next week now that I have replacements...

Been a crazy couple of weeks, been buying lots of parts and not so many tools!

I did get this in from Amazon. I had one of the smaller plastic 3 way ones that had belonged to my grandpa, but it fell apart a couple years ago and I’m just getting around to replacing it. I wanted to get the same style I had, but this one was cheaper and had faster shipping. We’ll see how it compares!

Quick Snap-on Wednesday pick-up. I’m on a mission to find some good lighting for when I’m working on and in the mills at work. For whatever reason they were designed to have as little light as possible directed on the work table. This is my first foray into this endeavor. Initial impressions are that the light is pretty good. I wish it articulated more, so I may look for something along those lines to try next. But yeah, this light is pretty damned good. Also grabbed the pliers on promo because why not.

I have the orange version of the Jameson poles... they are the BEST. Get something to cover that blade... the first time you bump your ankle with that blade you will thank me.

Hmm... cardboard? Slit heater hose and rubber bands?

Weaver Leather Arborist 25 Pole Saw Scabbard

Depending on how you store/transport your pole saw the scabbard will pay for itself in protecting the teeth on your blade. Less important imho is that they can also protect you from those teeth, lol.

Last Sunday we had our annual holiday party for the locksmith association. Vendors and members donate prizes and we do a big raffle. I won this beautiful rekeying kit which just so happens to fit on my Kennedy tool chest!

Why did I think you were an electrician?! Now that you mention it, I remember the locksmith thing.

It's all the Klein, isn't it?
