Tekton 35mm socket.
I've been reading that people recomenend Tekton quite a bit as an affordable but decent wrench /socket maker.
Having recently acquired a 2009 Toyota Tacoma I'm busy making sure I have all tge size wrenches. Sockets etc hence the purchase of this 35mm socket. But now I want to fill in the gaps between 32 and the largest 1/2 socket in both 6 and 12 point, i think thats 38mm ? I only just finished with the gaps from 4mm to 32mm.

I haven't used this , but the forging/machining is pretty good for a measley $9. At 1st glance this comes across as a bargain.

Have you written to the Hansen Co.? They need to make a socket rack for the 30mm+ range! They can shake down the socket makers for kickbacks.

I’ve been wanting one of these forever. And finally a project is happening with enough lead time to actually order one.

(raises hand)

Uh... I think I used to know what that was. RIght now all my brain can say is "Pantograph! It's a pantrograph!" but I'm pretty sure it's not that.

Tonight I realize that I haven't thought of a pantograph as a drafting device in decades. Back when it was hard to make a second copy of something. Or enlarge something, etc.

Well close but this is for laying out rivet holes or equally spaced holes in general.

Rivet fan spacing tool

So, what is it? It looks like it expands and contracts but what is it used for.
😉

But just to expand on this. It has hash marks for 1”, 1-1/4”, 1-1/2” centers. But the best part is where you have a real odd ball centering requirement you pick your start n stop locations and the rest center up perfectly. I’m doing an odd one right now that calculates out to 1.843 centers, I’m not marking all that **** nor drilling 80 of these on my mill.

i've heard it called a magic fingers layout tool.

It's so you can evenly space things out. think of it like an adjustable jig. stretch it out and the fingers spread evenly.

i have one and have used it for many things over the years... you're making something and want 5 holes evenly spaced between them but not evenly at the ends. or if you're doing decorative dovetails on something. or laying out rivets on panels. makes it real easy to do skip layouts (e.g., 2 evenly spaced, 1 with double spacing, then 2 more evenly spaced). you can also stretch and squeeze it give give prospective layouts of whatever to gauge the spacing or count how many or whatever.

I've had a smaller version of that for years. It is THE handiest layout tool for evenly spacing things. I *think* i bought it at a woodworking show. Mine was called "Point 2 Point Divider".

I have a small project I'm trying to get to in the next few days where I'll use it to space some Akro bin rails.

Do you have aftermarket front axles? As a Toyota guy I haven’t run into needing a 35mm, but I’ve heard aftermarket front axles sometimes use a 35mm nut. OEMs are 36mm on 4Runners ad GXs. Maybe oem fronts on tacomas are 35mm? I didn’t have my tacoma long enough to break one so I don’t know.

I haven't been under there yet nor do i have a current need but I'd like to have the socket when I need to rather than having to buy a one randomly from autozone for more money or the same money as a decent one so just making sure I have all the wrenches and sockets id need for this.
Ive seen 36mm been mentioned but as per this list and thread it's 35mm for a 2nd Gen Tacoma and I believe older gens were different size so I don't know tbh. Just trying to be as prepared as I can be.

I went a little crazy on Black Friday 🤪

Got the Icon 3/8" Split Beam on 40% as part of their 12 days of Christmas. Also picked up the Gen2 M12 stubby from Acme Tools on a Cyber Monday deal as well as the Koken 1/4" drive zeal flex head. Still waiting on some more Koken tools that should ship sometime in January. Then I picked up 16mm and 18mm Wright Grip wrenches to fill a set of older Wright wrenches I have. Finally, some more CAT tools courtesy of Snap-On. Picked up the 3 piece pliers set, 1/4" drive deep well sockets, and a 15/16" 4-way wrench to tighten the camber arms on my E46.

No problem in being prepared. I was just curious.

It's 35mm for an OE gen two Tacoma front axle nut; 1-3/8" is close enough if you already have one.

Today... I'm the proud owner of the world's best solder sucker...
Apparently, it doesn't get any better than this...
Very well made...

I have one of those also, but I think mine is branded Engineer; yes, it's really nice. Before this I had some cheap POS plastic one that met its death from an unfortunate accident with a soldering iron. You can buy additional tubing for it- not sure where I got it, maybe McMaster or Amazon, just generic from the ID and OD.

Edit: verify the dimensions first if you decide to buy, but I think this is what I bought

I guess this can be considered tools, new wheels for my Lisle creeper that I have a love hate relationship with.

And here they are installed.

Mind letting us know where you bought the creeper wheels? I have what looks like a similar creeper and while I don't use it much anymore, (fulfilled dream of 2 post lift) I used it the other day and it wasn't rolling smoothly.

Here is why, the rubber delaminated from one of the wheels:
