I burnt up the rest of a gift card on one of these. It will come in handy for a couple of projects. I got it with another battery, charger and tool bag. DEWALT 20V Max XR Oscillating Multi-Tool, Variable Speed, Tool Only (DCS356B).

Multi-tools are like Dremels. You don't need them all the time, but when you need them, they are well worth what they cost.

It was a sanding and grinding Xmas.

Woodpeckers Sand Stand looks to have real potential for some of my smaller piece projects.

The Wen band file I asked Santa for is an inexpensive way to try out a different tool and one that was recommended by several members whose opinion I respect.

Belt assortment for the band file.
And last but not least, an 1/8” collet for the M12 right angle grinder that you enablers convinced me to try. (I love it!). Looking forward to trying the M12 as a Dremel replacement for some jobs.

Very nice! I’ve been looking at the SandStand as I rarely need a full-sized sander and I am a bit space challenged. Their stuff is always solidly made!!

Ok, I need to be educated on this. It has a 3 speed selector and a variable trigger. Why both? I have the PC version of this but it only has the variable trigger. So far, that's all I've needed. What are the benefits of the three speeds?

Different types of work/blade....

The lower speed setting lessens the chance of the blade jumping to some unwanted location in a tight spot on certain materiel...And gives you more control over the tool....

Sometimes? Especially if making a plunge type cut? You want to "sneak up" on the finish line....not go too deep...

Hope this helps....

A few Christmas treasures:

My buddy who frequents the Cornwell truck knows that green is my favorite color and that I’ve been unhappy with my Carlyle pliers of this style. He said they were running a special on these so he got me a pair. Wouldn’t let me pay him for them.

Amazon buy for myself. I checked tire pressure on my tandem dual trailer the last time I used it and had trouble getting the angled head on some of the solid valve stems.

IMG_7638.jpeg

My winnings from the in-laws’ dirty Santa (or whatever the hell it is) game. Came with a 10” and a 6” and when my little boy (he’s 4) saw it he said, “Daddy, can I have the small one and you have the big one?” Absolutely. Didn’t even have to think about it.

My Christmas gift from my uncle. He and I enjoy going to pawn shops together to look for tools and he always finds some quality stuff for my birthday and Christmas. Snap-On 18” pipe and Matco 12” adjustable.

Been a great week, Merry Christmas everyone!

Truth be told, I didn't gave that any thought when I bought it. I have the charger and the battery platform, it's a good tool, so why not? As far as a 3 speed selector and variable trigger, that's how they're making them. I guess in the lower speed selections it might have some minor benefits. I haven't tried it yet.

You will like it when you are in a tight spot, trying to do delicate work....

At a bad angle? It will jump on you when on high speed....

Certain materiel will also cut smoother on low speed.....

Some? Once the "line" of the cut is started on low....you can switch to high to finish....

So, I am fully committed to the M12 platform for its light weight … BUT … I needed a new blower. I saw the M18 2X 5.0Ah battery/charger deal that comes with a free tool w/ the blower as one of the options. Unfortunately, they seemed to sell out very quickly. Undeterred, I swung by my local HD and a guy that I’ve gotten to know from my many trips there (😉) had one in a secret stash … bingo! Well, now that I am down the M18 rabbit hole, I also picked up the heat gun! Here we go … I fully expect that I’ll get several suggestions for ‘must have’ M18 tools from the GJ pushers/enablers/ influencers!!

What the? Are they going to have to have a guy in the back behind a steel door to handle Milwuakee sales now?

"You got the stuff, man?"

"Do I know you? What's the password?"

"Red."

"Okay, what do you need? Voltage first."

My new progressive raker depth gauge for my saw finally came in the mail this morning! Ofc I went and used it before I remembered to take a photo... lol. I absolutely love these progressive gauges in comparison to the constant style gauges found most everywhere. Also, idk why the STIHL logo on my saw looks so bad in this photo, but it is actually highly polished...

What does that mean?

Are the sizes as distinguishable for them as they are for the normal color vision? They may well have thought of it.

As for "tool rebel", that's what they call themselves over at Wera.

Makes me want to do an ad campaign for Proto. "Industrials tools. Buy them."

The ONLY thing that surprised me was that he found an employee willing to SHARE the secret stash...
