Been a little bit since anything new came through my door. OMT coolant pressure tester. Just a basic kit, but glad to get it. IMG_20250109_103658.jpg

Couple budget wrench racks. They're ok. They were cheap. Nothing special.

Impact extensions. Particularly 1/4" drive... I personally haven't had great luck in finding much in 1/4 that's affordable for me. I haven't looked a ton lately. The Makita 1/4 sockets have been putting in work... But I don't want to impact my chrome extensions 🤣 The set covers 1/4, 3/8, and 1/2.

I followed the suit, ordered the very same impact extensions.
They came in earlier today.

We shall see how they hold up, used chrome extensions thus far when needed...

Let's see some pics with that loaded up!

I could use a dedicated bag for that purpose. I've been using plastic totes (which always break) or milk crates.

Mike
For a different idea: this rides in the back of my Xterra on wheeling trips.. it's the mid-size box from HF

@mikeinri My tie downs for the car trailer are chain ends and heavy, so I purchased cabela range bags, @15$ each and seperated the stuff. Makes it a little easier to haul around.

posted here
License plates for the Aluma tilt trailer. Side trip to Cabelas and picked up 4 of these @, using them and velcro straps to sort out the ratchet straps and binders.

Not really a tool, but I had a 15% off coupon at HF and picked up a heavy duty bag for all of the tow/recovery stuff I have. Now I can get it all in one bag.....hope I can lift it. :)

Little FB Marketplace purchase.
Planning to convert the chrome handle 1/4 ratchets to bit ratchets.
First soft handle I've ever bought too, not sure I'm sold on them - while the grip is replaceable I don't like how greasy/grimy they get. Though this was a very affordable way to try it out.

To me, anything over $99 is too much (and they've been higher for a few years, except when on sale, typically at the holidays).

None in the local store I tried today...

Mike
My store had quite a few and I bought 1 more. I also got the smaller M18 Rover that allows USB charging. I think I’m prepared for the next event, but I hope I never need to use them for that!! I also stopped by HF to use the coupon for the mini-ratchet/bit driver set. A nice compact kit that I may reconfigure for my ‘go bag.’

I got the bag re-loaded with the items that had been in the small bag and those that had been kept loose. I keep that manual winch [aka come-a-long depending on where you live :) ] in the original box because I take it out and oil it once a year so that if and when I DO need it, it will function. The inside pockets were good for ratchet straps and other smaller items. I never got to the outside pockets -- plenty for future use. The end result is pretty heavy for an old geezer like me, but I was impressed that even with the weight, the bottom of the bag is sturdy enough that it stayed flat and did not fold into a V when lifted. I would give this bag high marks.

What I had to put in the bag:

Inside - pockets on both sides. ;)

Loaded up and ready to go. Hernia time. [the nylon rope on a loom will just lie on top]

Thanks for following up!

MINI come-a-long??? Brilliant!

That does look like a good amount of weight there too.

I needed a 4.5mm socket and have neglected 1/4 and 3/8 sockets sets and found the Husky sockets in my 290pc vacation box to be wobbly and not fit the extensions , other rathcets etc as well as id like in addition to not having a 4.5mm socket i needed.

I went online to buy a Gedore socket and they are very expensive for small 1/4 set, stupidly so.
I did see a Gedore red set going for $25 on amazon which id seen going for $38 or so a couple of months earlier and bought that.
The case is awful , it's terrible and cheap. Ratchet isn't awful and neither are the sockets which all fit nicely etc, while there is nothing wrong with the ratchet it came with , I do prefer Gedore 1/4 rathet as it feels more solid so I now have this hybrid gedore /Gedore red set. I have no idea why 1/4 sets cost what they do, from all brands not just Gedore. Sure , the Husky , Craftsman etc are prerty cheap but besides the awful case , these Gedore red sockets and ratchet do feel better for similar money.
Having the better ratchet in the set trumps my OCD when it comes to it looking at little off.
COO (except for blue ratchet ) Taiwan

I've met some solid people both buying and selling on Marketplace, but you've gotta be careful not to waste your time. I'm not sure what it is but I find the percentage of flakes and poor communicators is very high these days - seemingly way higher than in the Craigslist days.

I did some modification on the Milescraft Portable DP:

54262836216_4d00a990ec_b.jpg

Now it's about right. A larger, more stable base (only two screws for now as that's all I had in the 1/4-20 bin) and a place to store the key. Extra holes in the base are because it was cut from scrap.

Hopefully you don't need much accuracy, and it works out ok for you in use. There is a reason that I've never seen a mag-base drill using a round linear motion bar setup like this.

Some Felo goodness from KC Tool in the form of an offset handle, long reach trim tool (staple lifter). Think of this as reaching in somewhere sliding the fork under the head of a trim fastener or connector, and twisting your wrist to pop it. A traditional trim tool with a pretty good offset blade, a 139mm magazine handle with bit holder, and a six piece Felo screwdriver set with hex shaped blades and striking caps.

Been doing a bunch of small wall patching, and filling in nail holes on my trim after getting my windows replaced. Been using an old Husky 2” putty knife that is very stiff, and starting to rust.

Grabbed this nice stainless steel one piece Dewalt. Has just the right amount of flex to the blade for my liking.

FSS, man! I need to drill a few holes in a couple of doors! I spent $35-odd on this silly rig plus fifteen minutes playing in the shop to make the base extension. I'm not buying a multi-hundred dollar tool (that won't stick to a damned steel-skin door anyway) for this simple project.

If I felt the need for a mag drill, I'd have one. Very little of the metal I work with is ferromagnetic.

Astro Tools 1/4 drive sealed head Nano Short ratchet 91405S. crisp 72 tooth action, 5 inches long, nice balance, nice chromeP1010110.JPG.
As Denny mentioned to me, it's the first Astro Tool we've seen with a hang tag.

Got a link? I didn't know Astro had some new ratchets available. All I've seen (previously owned) are the quick release versions.
