I picked up the following cart using HF's promo price of $89 minus an additional $25 off any purchase over $100. I added a set of Icon pics to get the price over $100 and the total was $96ish OTD. IMO, an absolute steal. I will primarily use it for detailing and small projects around the garage.

I also purchased a 72 in US General roller through HF's scratch and dent department. I was able to get a box in "excellent" condition for 25% off retail with free freight. The CSR was able to send pictures and the box looks to be in great shape. Fingers crossed for no major dings.

I've been on a buying spree the last week. I'm looking to get new toolboxes, so I'm filling holes in my collection in order to best configure the boxes. I'm also upgrading some old stuff and moving others to a 2nd set of tools I'm putting together.

Mostly NAPA pliers from the current catalog (half of GJ seems to have gotten in that sale). The light blue pair is actually an OTC 90° terminal crimper that I saw in a Toolbox Tour video on YouTube. I think these will be handy when crimping in tight engine bays (my 6.7L Ford). I also think they are likely from the same manufacturer as the Napa crimpers. Another member turned me on to the blue Summit branded Trusty Cook Hammers. Way cheaper than anywhere else, and they're blue which is my jam lately. I also decided to get on the Astro Nano socket bandwagon in lieu of the Mountain double flex long pattern wrenches that I was originally looking at. Icon wobbles (great for the money), Proto locking extensions (worth every penny), and Capri locking universals. Nice Taiwan made units, but don't retain sockets with shallow detents as well as the Proto extensions. I think they'll be handy for doing spark plugs.

I also have new Wright Grip wrenches, more Nano sets/Ratchets, and some more pliers on the way.

Have a link for the Proto locking extension set? I'd like to buy more locking extensions.

Bunch of assorted Snap On stuff.
Some 10mm sockets, a few 1/4" rebuild kits to turn some Dual 80s into bit ratchets, a Blue Point 5mm 1/4" socket and 5mm Long ball hex bit (Snap On doesn't seem to make 1/4" long ball hex), and a few other odds and ends.

I was making a drag racing reference....Don't you have a drag car, or am I dazed and confused.

Most tracks I was familiar with always showed the 0 to 60' time. (insert sarcasm) I figured this was a measuring device for that purpose. :D
Oh, yeah, it went over my head.

Actually, possibly future layout of a new shop building if we get my parents house. I'll be needing these for layout and clearing some of the property.

Besides, they were cheap enough.

My 12th day of Christmas HFT 56in roll cabinet showed up.
Already had the top 90% ready, just 2 sides to cut/finish to make it fit perfect.

And a generic pic cause it's too darn cold to go out in shop to take an actual pic.

Bought this 1/2" impact at Wally World earlier tonite. A little over $107, tax included.

Torque Test channel on YT has a good video on it.

This is meant to be a backup to my trusty DeWalt DCF899 I bought at least 7yrs ago.
I plan on getting the adapter so I can utilize 20V DeWalt batteries I already have.

Putting the Tiger in the shop … ;)

Seriously, dropped some stuff off at the animal shelter and - fully coincidentally, I swear - one of my industrial suppliers is only a couple of streets further. They are in the January promotion, and since I don’t plan on having any orders delivered this month, it’s way cheaper to just pick them up myself.

Wuerth Tigerflex Ecoline gloves. Tight fitting, abrasion-resistant (class 4 out of 5), great for all the usual stuff around workshop, home & garden that doesn‘t involve any fluids.

(I guess this is why they call them “Tigerflex”…

Kind regards,

I’ve been carrying this model of streamlight for years now. Decided to try a few new options from Nebo with this years work ppe/safety allowance. The mini Larry is an awesome light, but noticeably larger to carry. The slim mini is great so far. Both are usb c rechargeable vs a replaceable AAA. Not sure if this is a pro or a con yet.

Advance Auto has released several new Diehard tools.
They have a neat 11mm & 1/4” dual drive 120t low profile 4-19mm socket set that I’d like to get, but I’ll have to wait and accrue some perks points for that one.
I did get this pick set which was less than $4.
They also released 1/4 and 3/8 stubby ratchets. This scraper was an impulse buy.
I also picked up a Wiha stubby 14-in-1 and the HVAC bit pack. I’ve been wanting the Wiha bit adaptor socket that has both c-ring and set screw retention and it comes in this set for a very reasonable price. It's bored and works with most of the double-sided bits. A lot of engineering going on in that one little piece! I also wanted the longer 1/4 square socket adaptor and schrader bit:
The stubby screwdriver and some of these bits are going in a small kit I made for my tool backpack.

My new tracks arrived. Returned the 100 inch track and decided after some reading the 110 inch was more or the less the way to go. Looking forward to using this set up. This is also the bigger of the two WEN track saws, not the 6.5 but the 7.25 inch version with the slightly bigger motor, and WEN really took some of the feedback from the 6.5 saw and made some much needed improvements to this version.

Mama's out of town, so the kitchen was the location for this photoshoot. I'm pretty brave when she isn't around, lol.

Astro Tools 1/4 drive sealed head Nano Short ratchet 91405S. crisp 72 tooth action, 5 inches long, nice balance, nice chromeP1010110.JPG.
As Denny mentioned to me, it's the first Astro Tool we've seen with a hang tag.
Bought a set of these (1/4" 3/8" 1/2") this summer. Really like the nano size, fit and finish. The 1/2" ratchet directional selector was very stiff at first, but worked itself out fairly quickly.
Hoping the small size holds up, they are basically up sized mechanisms in the next smaller size handle.

Been wanting a big serious industrial grade drawer cabinet for a while, hard to find something used under $800 around here. This 60" Equipto popped up on Marketplace for $500, so decided it was time. The paint was decent, but it had ugly (to me) gold anodized handles. I had them bead-blasted back to bare Al, then I brush finished and clear coated them. New black plastic slide-in inserts to add labeling to the drawers when I organize. The "new-ish" drawer pulls really dress it up.

Almost all of the 54 small bearing wheels in the glide frames were frozen up, Two hours with WD-40 and my Knipex Cobra to get them moving and eventually spinning again. Drawers slide great now, took some work but I finally got my "big" drawer cabinet.

I have a set of Wera Joker wrenches that I picked up from Harry Epstein's a while back. Mostly I keep them in my truck so I don't have to carry a full set of SAE and Metric wrenches. They had been on a basic wrench ring, but I don't like having to remove everything to get the one I want, and I want to be able to easily see if one is missing. What I needed was a wrench roll.

After months of searching, I wasn't able to find anything I liked. I found a local guy on FB Marketplace who mostly makes belts, but he agreed to make me a custom wrench roll.

I am very happy with the results. Stitched and riveted, made with Redwing boot leather. Even better, the guy has a Youtube channel and has made a video of the entire build. Check out Robert's channel, and give him a subscribe if you are at all interested in leather work. Here is the build video:

Beautiful!
But don't let it get wet....
I ruined the bluing on a Winchester Model 70 Super Grade using a leather scabbard on a horseback moose hunt. It was snowing all day, horse was warm, turned the scabbard into a sauna. 😕

As PugetDude says, there is a drawback to leather. That's why you see so few leather tool/knife rolls.

I'd treat that with some good boot grease to keep the leather as waterproof as possible. The stuff that Kennatrek sells is exceptional. https://kenetrek.com/products/water...XJXGeO_voDv_lVaeAF5h98o4Ck5DT28EaAmZuEALw_wcB

Spendy, but it's a lifetime supply and you can use it on your leather work boots, too.

Trying out some Tekton. These are for a particular indoor purpose involving low torque and zero corrosion. They will do fine for that. Would I replace my Snap On sets with them? No. The box end broaching on the wrenches isn't as well defined as it is on my Snappys, especially on the smaller sizes. Not a fan of the ratchets either, back drag seems a bit high. They'll get swapped out with Dual 80s.

For the price, I'd say they're hard to beat.

I just got these Carlyle tools from NAPA - first time buying those. Ordered a Craftsman scraper as well. A bit disappointed.

The scraper was intended to be kind of a beater but the plating started flaking off while using it to cut open the tape on the cardboard packaging of the sockets...so that's not a keeper.

The SAE sockets are made in Taiwan and I figured they'd be alright - I have no SAE sockets in my home shop currently and thought an inexpensive set was worth having as a "just in case" option. NAPA retails these at $80, they were on sale for $24. Even at $24 they're no good - all but two of the sockets have corrosion in them fresh out of the box and roughly half have pitted plating / forgings. If you'd seen these open at the store, no one would pick this set up.

The 10mm master set seems much better than expected all around and will be excellent as backups / spares.

I don't think I posted this. Bought it a couple of weeks ago after my brother raved about using a palm nailer. As much as I like swinging a hammer, he made a very good point (later validated via YouTube) regarding the advantages when dealing with joist hangers.

1000000554.jpg
Perfect tool for many joist hanger situations. Be sure not to be holding the nail anywhere near tip when inserting it in the tool.

Every time I see this thread I remember I've gotta start taking pictures of all the stuff I have ben buying. I just got the Milwaukee 4-piece dead blow hammer set and 12-piece precision screw driver set from Home Depot.
