I'm super stoked on these! I've been looking for some organizers and came across "FDM Operations". I ordered up a set of their wrench racks and their plier organizer to try before I commit to a system. The 3D printing looks well done, and both products are very efficient with their use of space. Ignore the mess, as I'm moving **** around, but you can get a good idea of how they look. Magnets are on the bottom of both units to hold them in place. The magnets also seem to help hold the tools, but I'm not sure if that's intended or just carry over from proximity.

The wrench organizers are segmented, so you can remove the sizes you don't have/use. The 1-1/4 holder itself is a touch over 3" tall, so you will need a fairly deep drawer to stand those up (I think I need 3.25" depth/clearance for that wrench). Reduced down to the sizes I needed, the length is about 9.25". I tried to show how the segments look and connect with the extras. I have fairly sticky drawer liners, so the wrenches seem to stay pretty well in place when opening and closing the drawer. Granted, I don't really slam my drawers shut. We'll see how durable they are. The only downside I see at this point is they only work on open end wrenches (not sure on flares?). I don't use flex heads, so I can't comment there.

The pliers rack is adjustable in .1" increments to get a good fit on various width grips. For reference, these are the 2" fins. I threw together an assortment to show its flexibility. You can also see how you can link multiple sets together. I had originally ordered the Ernst pliers racks, but those are headed back. I really like these FDMs.

I don't think I posted this. Bought it a couple of weeks ago after my brother raved about using a palm nailer. As much as I like swinging a hammer, he made a very good point (later validated via YouTube) regarding the advantages when dealing with joist hangers.

I once had a palm nailer. First used it on a building project with tight clearances on framing members. Might have been a shed. I loved it so much that when I had to disconnect it and use the regular framing nail gun, I put it in a special place where it would be safe until I could get it back into its toolbox.

Yep. I never saw it again. And I was working alone.

Those are different but I like them. I went to the site and I really like these. They’d be perfect for my road box.

I kind of like the pliers holder but, what I don't care for is $1.50 a fin/divider cost for a two inch version. The Issue I see with the wrench holder is that it doesn't keep the wrench straight unlike a widget/Ernst/Tekton modular holder does. The red/blue modular sockets holders look interesting, and I really like the size being exposed when the socket isn't in its spot but, I'm pretty happy with my magrails. Thanks for sharing, always great to see new ideas

In my last post I showed the DCF850 1/4” hex impact driver that I swapped to a 3/8” square drive. The wife subsequently made a comment that it would have been nice to have another 1/4” impact driver around so she can find one when she needs it (she does quite a few woodworking projects). Say no more, honey! They still had them on sale with a 5ah battery, charger, and carry bag for $94.99 at Bomgaars. I also picked her up her own set of 1/4” hex drill bits which were on sale for $14.99 to go with it. In the clearance section I found 3 DeWalt 6.5” cutoff wheels for $1.49 a piece. The tape measures came from Tractor Supply. I didn’t really need any more, but I like to keep at least one tape measure in every vehicle (which is a lot) because I’m always needing to get a measurement on something. So in the clearance bin they had the same brand 16’ tapes on clearance for $7.99, or these 2 packs of 25’ tapes on clearance for… $7.99. So I got the last 2 they had!

Grabbed a couple of these bucket openers at Lowe’s last night...



I've been struggling to open an ice melt bucket (bought decades ago, I just refill it as needed), using screwdrivers or pliers.

For some reason, while walking into Lowe’s, I randomly remembered using an opener tool 40 years ago, to open buckets of pickles while working at McDonald's.

I remember those being metal (and longer). Hopefully this little plastic thing works as well (and doesn't break), but for $1.52, I figured it's worth a shot. If they fail, I'll buy a better one from Amazon.

I picked up a “new” box of 18 piece Husky USA made screwdrivers. They were packed away in the garage of an old friend who no longer needs them. The offset screwdriver is in another toolbox at the moment. Two of the smallest screwdrivers in the set have Taiwan imprinted on them. The rest of the set says made in USA.

Pedro's Sliding Bit Holding T-Handle with internal bit storage. Currently has bike specific bits, but I want to use this one for my range bag so it will get a big flat blade bit, a small hex bit or two, a 1/4 drive adapter with 1/2" socket (shown) and most likely a t20 or t25. I really like the design with the screw off caps and internal bit storage.









While at home depot the other day, i stumbled upon an end cap that had these sawzall blades. Half of the packages hanging had 10 blades only, but the other half had an extra 9 blades. Both packages had the exact same part number and were $20. Seemed like a pretty good deal for a little over $1 a blade. I like the storage box as well, the internal ribs provide multiple sections making it easy to grab a blade.

I got one of those years ago for disassembling Coleman 502 backpacking stoves.



The center burner cup has female threads on it that screw onto the Bunsen. Those threads are always rusted firmly in place. Heat, penetrant and the oil filter wrench on an impact driver does the trick every time, without damaging the cup.

Then I discovered that it works very well for removing oil filters! Who'd a thunk it?
