Some gaps filling in my Frankenstein offset wrench set.
Smaller sizes are Stalewhiles while 20 -36mm are Dowidat but with skips.
Now Gedore 30x34mm has been thrown in too.

Due to me not being able to find a 35mm Gedore , I'll probably have to throw a 4th brand in too.

Have any FACOMs in that set? They make some nice ones.

I dont , set consists of Stalwhile 6-19mm , Dowidat 20 to 36mm with 2 skips between 20 and 32 and then between 32 and 34 and then 36 . Ive been surviving using a breaker bar with deep impacts sockets but I'd like the offset sizes I need. I think after I aquire a 35x38mm , I'll be done with my offset set.
I'll have a look at the facoms. Thanks.

First time on the Snap-on truck since the holiday break back in December. Grabbed an 9/16” 8pt socket for the vises at work and picked up another set of the Insta-famous pliers. I don’t know who is in charge of Snappy’s plier QC but every plier on the truck had issues. The ones I grabbed were the least egregious and I still had to take them to a bench grinder to get the tips to be an even length. And these are $75+ pliers here in Chicago. I don’t remember them being so bad last time I was on the truck.

Also it was kinda fun just chatting with the driver. He wasn’t too thrilled about the guys in front of me who were real winners, buying a ton of stuff but only putting $20 down and then bitching about not getting free stuff. Then when I was grabbing my stuff another dude came on and bitched the driver’s assistant out about something and then just left. I totally understand why he’s been trying to ditch certain shops that are on his route. I also understand why so many drivers check out instead of making this a career.

We also talked about the Matco guy and how he ditched the truck and sells everything out of his car or whatever. That makes sense since I have never seen him in his Matco truck. It’s also why he never shows up unless you specifically text him for an item. There’s no chance to browse or anything. To make matters worse, he never actually responds to those texts. He’ll just show up with your stuff with no warning. It’s a mess. I like my Matco stuff but I’ve been thinking of checking out more MAC stuff since that driver is as reliable as Snappy.

Wow, this thing gets a LOT of horrible reviews on various websites, including Milwaukee's.

Everything from they're weak and self-disintegrate, to the locking slide being in the "wrong" direction (pulling out releases the bits, causing a lot of bits lost in walls while trying to remove the tool from the cavity).

That last one can probably be solved with a bit of tape, and I can think of ways that the slide going the other way could cause the same problem (while pushing through a narrow opening to get to a fastener).

But, the weak construction has me a little concerned.

Do any of you have one of these, or a better one to recommended? I might return this before using it.

EDIT: Should have mentioned, the first job for this will be reaching some pocket screws inside a kitchen cabinet (wedged between the front of the cabinet and the sink). Pretty open access, so I'm sure it'll work for that.

I like that they are slim and lock the bit in place. Not just a magnet. Pull down on the black part to release.

Also, very skinny, so fits in tight spots.

I liked the shorter ones so I ordered these too. These are much more massive than I expected. The slop/play is consistent with the smaller pliers - good enough. I still think they'd benefit a lot for a box style joint.
Did you order those from the website? Every time I do everything is just thrown in the same bag. I wish mine shipped like that!

Wild how much slop they have for the cost. I've gone through a few to get one that wasn't "so" bad.

You mean boigi

Buy one I get one

But just BOGO doesn't specify who gets what. There's no pronouns in BOGO. It's not YBOYGO (You Buy One You Get One), that's just the conventional interpretation of what BOGO means.

It's just plain BOGO, and as LXCam was lucky (smart) enough to find out before leaving, not everyone likes to go by conventional pronouns these days. lol

THANK YOU!!!!!

After seeing your post, I just came across this video, SUPER helpful:

I went and ordered the Dewalt 12-inch. I also ordered the Dewalt set with the 6 and 3 inch units, plus a bunch of bits in the package, as shown in the video.

Getting it all from Lowe's, as I needed some stuff to bump my cart total to get free shipping on a Kobalt mini box (red color, not available locally), so this helped me tremendously overall (in a GJ way of thinking)!

What is the part number on the combo pack? I can't read it on my phone and he didn't mention the part number in his comments. He just makes a point to show it to you. I just can't read it with my poor eyesight and my small screen.

Mail lady made my day, really didn’t think this would get here this week! Husky 16” large mouth tool bag. I kinda treated myself on this one, somebody posted it in a thread several months ago and I liked it. I’ve been researching for weeks trying to make up my mind, reading reviews and fondling the different options at all the stores. I almost pulled the trigger on the $25 one at Harbor Freight, but at the last second I walked out empty handed. So I went back to the Home Depot website and was checking this one out again trying to justify the $50 to myself. And then I see that the shipping would be free so I added it to my cart just to see if it was true. Sure enough it was, and they also finally got my tax exemption certificate added to my account so there was no tax either. Shipped to my door for $49.97, so I pulled the trigger.

IMG_8008.jpeg

I’ve been wanting to upgrade tool bags for a little while. I keep this one in my feed truck most of the time, but I also switch between my trucks pretty frequently and I like to take it with me depending on where I’m headed. It came with my Ingersoll cordless impact and it’s been great. It’s been LOTS of miles with me but it hasn’t been “used” much so it’s still in great shape. It was just totally out of room as you can see.

IMG_8010.jpeg

The biggest thing that drew me to this particular bag was the little storage compartment on the bottom. It seemed kinda gimmicky at first, but then I thought if my 3/8” Tekton socket set in the blow molded case would fit in it, I wouldn’t have to empty the whole bag to get it out of the bottom. I tried like hell to find where someone had told the dimensions of the compartment but I didn’t find any. So I took a chance.

IMG_8011.jpeg

I wasn’t sure at first, it sure looked big compared to the opening.

IMG_8012.jpeg

But it fit right in there just like it was made for it. It has to go through the opening at a little bit of an angle, but it doesn’t take any force at all.

IMG_8013.jpeg

And there it is all loaded up. I have a few more things I want to add now that I have the room and I’m already working on that. Overall really happy I went with this one. It’s really well made and has way more pockets than I can utilize. You can see that I removed the “tool wall” that velcros in the center and has more pockets for storing tools upright. I will say that this thing is HEAVY even when empty, it’s got some framework and a hard plastic bottom with feet. So if a guy was gonna carry it by hand every day it may not be the correct choice, but for me to haul around behind the seat of the truck just for the rare occasions I have to work on something away from my main toolbox, it’s fantastic.

Got these for no cost from my SO dealer. Pretty sure 3 of the Phillips are unused. A couple of the regular drivers appeared to have been used as chisels. Before and after a cleanup.IMG_4812.jpeg

It’s always wild to see how many people will not clean their tools before selling/trading them in. A few minutes with wd-40 and a rag, and those look good as new.

Great score! And oh yeah .. YOU ****!!

Blake showed a socket without it sitting on his jeans!

Literally the first thing that popped into my head!

Will wonders never cease? Next thing we know he will be driving to a restaurant to share a meal with a girl.

Some helpful advice from "half-brothers" Michael and Buddy...
