Only two businesses in Discovery Bay that are open on a regular basis are the burger joint and the weed shop. I've never been in either. There's a guy who hangs out big "Velvet Elvis" rugs when the weather is clear, but that's really hit and miss. There are two or three buildings that have been unoccupied for years.

Stop in at the weed shop and those burgers will suddenly start looking... real good.

As will the velvet Elvis rugs....

I figured this might be worth sharing. Picked up this set of lugnut sockets from JB Tools for $20. Exact same as the Pittsburgh set, but in a stupid thick case and with engraved sizes. I think I picked up the Pittsburgh on sale for ~$30. I'll grab a 1/2" breaker bar and throw them in the truck. JB also had a ton of good stuff in their clearance section to get to $100 and free shipping.

Also picked up some gloves ($5 each), some glasses ($3), some Lock N Lube stuff, hand cleaner ($1.50), the Lang long punches, a Tekton wide mouth stubby adjustable, Astro clip pliers, a couple pairs of Lisle clip pliers, and a some Lisle electrical connector pliers.

Interesting I was just in Sequim over the weekend visiting my wife's grandma. Where is this haunt you speak of?I'm going back in July.

Serenity House. Not the one in the bottom of the grain elevator - the tool building is on the west side of the parking lot. The Goodwill (directly across the street) is where that P&C 1/4" drive "set" came from. Both are real hit-and-miss. The two hacksaws I picked up this last week were both from Serenity House.

I received this new to me Makita circular saw earlier today.
Model 5277B, in a very good condition.

I was planning on buying SkilSaw Mag77, a generous person on another forum I frequent offered this for the cost of shipping.

Cleaned it up a bit, put a new blade on it and plan to use it for some upcoming projects I have in mind.

Nice pickups! How do you like the Tekton wide mouth stubby adjustable? Does it adjust smoothly?

Yeah, the jaw adjustment and fit feel really good (initial impression). I was surprised to see that it actually had detent holes in the square drive opening in the handle. I bought it to tighten large jam nuts on suspension components, so it will likely be a limited use tool, but it saves me from having to buy larger wrenches than what I have (up to 1-1/4").

When I lived on the Olympic Peninsula Sequim (or as the locals call it: "God's Waiting Room" ) had a great Fish and Chip shop that was run by an Expat Kiwi. Used to go there a couple of times a month when my in-laws were living there.

^ You would not recognize the place today. Population is exploding up there. Houses start in the mid $700K range. (Web says $560 "median", but I think those were actually chicken coops.)
We've only gone to two or three eateries locally - none of which were really special in my book. $24 for fish & chips with frozen "krinkle-kut" fries just doesn't get high marks from me.

Clallam County and the Rain Shadow make it pretty unique in the Peoples Republic of Western Washington. 😉

^ That whole "rain shadow" thing is becoming something of a joke, to be honest. My mother does get a bit less rainfall than I do here, but the wind never stops blowing where she's at - it's like being in Wyoming.
And again, if you haven't been there in the last five years, I would posit you wouldn't recognize the place. It's changing that fast right now.
Still mostly one-and-two story single-family houses going up. LOTS of single-wide pre-fabbed homes going in.
Not sure if that's better or worse than all the 6-and-8-story condos going up everywhere here since the zoning and building requirement ordinances were changed.

Every couple years since I've owned this house I've had to call a plumber out to snake my drains, and had what I thought was 'a guy' that was both good and affordable but we had a bad freeze a month or so ago that apparently swamped him and every one else I called with more work than they can handle and resulted in their more than doubling their asking prices for doing so. >$300 min charge just to come out seemed way too much for something I have had done for $100 before just a year or two ago.

So, I dropped $400+tax on tools at HF last week. They both worked great. I hope to never have to use them ever again, but if/when I do I won't be needing a plumber.

Now I got to come up with adding wheels somehow to the 50' auger because that MF'er is waaaay too heavy to be lugging around. I'm leaning towards making a small tray for it that lets me move it around with a dolly.
