Went to the city shopping with the missus so I figured I'd make the best of it. Went to home depot where they were demo-ing Milwaukee's new "fuel" line of li ion brushless tools. They had the hex impact, drill and hammer drill. The deal was, buy one of the 3 and get a free older generation 18v impact. Well, I already had one of those so I convinced the guy to give me the larger capacity batteries instead. So I walked out with the hex impact which comes with 2 normal red lithium batteries, an XC battery and a mail in rebate for another XC battery! Those batteries retail here for $129 apiece! Awesome driver and the new batteries supposedly work on my older tools! Then I went to Princess auto and picked up one of the floor model sand blasting cabinets on sale and an Enco 8" polishing kit and a 4" pad for using on my drill. All in all, not a horrible day shopping!

Strangely enough it wasn't too bad. We went to the Dartmouth store. The Bayer's lake store not only ***** with its itty bitty parking places but it seems busier on the weekends as well. We live an hour away so the weekends is our only shot at shopping there. Bit easier for you guys that live there.

picked up a lawn mower for $20 (just needed the pull cord) drilled out the rivets that hold the recoil mechanism on the cover and got a pull cord from lowes. Found these sockets on clearance for $5 a piece

The pry bars are like a navy blue, and the other pearl blue handle is a screwdriver I traded for!

I don't think pearl blue pry bars were ever made, but I could be wrong.

^Let us know how those retaining ring pliers work out for you. I have read several times that the int/ext switch mechanism breaks after some use. I think they are rebranded under Channellock and Blue-Point as well.

Hey, what's the part # on that pick set?

I have that set and I'd like another...

Edit: Ah, found it. 941513. Apparently discontinued, or at least getting hard to find for some reason

I have those snap ring pliers, I think they are junk. They flexed too much while trying to take apart a craftsman air ratchet snap ring. I used my convertible snap ring pliers from craftsman, and they took the snap ring right off.

Picked up a few things....

Napa test light

Some of the old Witte-made Napa screwdrivers. Got a set at work that I love, and my Napa store is clearing them out, so I picked up a few that I don't have. Not sure if I'm going to put together a set of these for the house yet or not, but leaning towards it. The handles are nice and the blades are great.

On another note, I did get a quick look at a Carlyle phillips, I personally wasn't overly impressed but it seemed to be of fair quality.

SS,

What do you mean by "clearing them out?" Are they on discount? They are a little on the spendy side when paying regular price. Not too bad, but a discount is always welcome.

Note: your results may vary by location and whether it's a franchise or coporate store.

However, Napa is clearing out all of the older NAPA hand tools at 70% off retail list price. The sale only applies to tools with NHT in the part number. These are the older Danaher made mostly in the USA tools. It does apply to the Gearwrench clones. The sale does NOT apply to evercraft or specialty tools. The sale was mentioned I think in the hot deals thread.

Clerk at the store said 75% off. Those screwdrivers in the picture were all $4-$7.50ish each.

I saw on another thread that you had a rack in your tool box that holds your pliers etc.. Where did you get that rack at? Thanks

Got a shipment in from Germany today. A huge thanks to Jens Putzier. The transaction was easy shipment was quick, and the prices even after taxes, duty, etc where way cheaper then I could find in North America. Thanks again Jens

I picked up a couple of magnetic bowls, a 2.5nm-25nm 1/4" torque wrench, a pocket screwdriver, an e-brake shoe spring tool, and a "clic" style hose clamp pliers. I can't wait to get to work tomorrow to try these out.
