Bought a German made Work Table at Menards then had to buy some Irwin Groove Lock pliers at Home Cheapo.

I like it, it gets the job done and for something i dont use often, it didnt break the bank. I seen it on matcos truck for 200 dollars, and i got this whole kit for less than what snap on charges for just the bits. I am a diesel tech, but IR makes a good product. No need to shell out big bucks for an air hammer.

Hansen trays are made in the USA. at least they were last time I checked.

That's pretty common knowledge. I still can't justify spending $12 (x6) on a piece of plastic that breaks as easily as they tend to do. Currently just have metal rails riveted to flat steel as socket organizers. Figured for $30 total, I can live with a peg or two breaking.

If Hansen ever builds them out of metal, I'll gladly pay $30 a piece for them.

I dont know if they are junk or not but the kobalt trays at lowes were on clearance for $15 for all 3 metric trays and $15 for the 3 standard. They look and seem identical to hansen's trays. Im thinking about picking them up friday if anyone doesnt mention they are junk compared to the hansens.

i don't know if they are junk, but everytime i've seen them at the store, there are always several sets where some of the pegs have broken off. i don't know if it's from some ******* at the store who breaks them or if they are fragile.

When I checked them out, they were identical, except the sizes were stamped at the front of the tray instead of the tips of the pins. For how easily the 1/4 drive Hansen trays break, I just can't spend the money they ask for them.

They are a step down from the Hansens BUT they are decent. I returned the set I had because the sizes where not visible from the top (or bottom once it is in the tool box)

Here's my new haul. The two on the LEFT (6.5" & 8") I picked up with a giftcard I won in a work raffle. The rest I won on Ebay for $49, then got $8 back because they were listed as 'excellent', but the lineman's pliers were pretty chewed up (you can see the gap in the picture).

Yeah the air hammer i have now is close to useless it dosnt have much power. I have IR impacts and have no complaints. I was just wondering how close the new IR hammer is in power compared to the snap on

That's a lot of pliers :)

I figure a set of 8" & 10" for each tool bag, so I need more but they are out of stock now. They do have the Milky M12 grinder/Dremel like for $89.00 Clearance. Also Menards emp. told me the Keper Work Table is discontinued, I paid $44.67 for it so Dad wanted one and they are gone. Went to Steers and he bought the Craftsman Bolt-On 20v system. Don't know if heads will fit B&D system.

Couple of weeks ago I was on holiday in the USA. I bought a set of the metric Hansen trays. Took em home in a big bag (not a suitcase). After a flight of nearly 5500 miles including a changeover in Philadelphia they were unharmed! So if they break you're most likely that ******* in the shop or your socket extraction techniques are off ;)

Were those on sale as a set? Spotted the separate ones and that they're much cheaper then the Hansen trays, but if they're that cheap I might have to bite and pick them up.

They were on sale as sets at my local lowes, I actually like these a little better than the hansen's because you can flip them and actually see if they are 6 or 12 point sockets. Pretty handy for when buddies are looking for tools. I know the SAE set(red) was on sale for 14.99 or 14.97 and I convinced the girl at the counter the blues were also:thumbup: She must of wanted me for my body:spit: Online the red SAE are on sale but the blue metrics aren't, I can get a better comparison picture of hansen vs kobalts at home if need be

That is the best bottle opener available. Dead serious. It is heavy and strong, everyone that uses it wants one of their own!

Craigslist has been kind the last couple of weeks: a vise, a vintage Finnish woodworking bench, and now this, which the guy is actually delivering (!) on Saturday. The work surface is at 40" and the bench is five feet long. The drawers require multiple keys (?), but the PO has them all.

$350, including the delivery. I have a truck and could handle this myself, but what the heck, there's just something so novel about a CL delivery that I couldn't resist. I know that it's not a steal, but it fits my need perfectly, and I simply could not duplicate it for the same cost (a little more than an HF 42" cabinet).

Cheers!

Nice haul. That SK 89015 set is a slick idea, I hadn't seen that before so I googled it. Hope you got a beter deal than the $65,536.00 one I found here: http://www.monstermarketplace.com/power-tools-and-equipment/sk-hand-tool-sk-89015
:eyecrazy:

sk-pricing.jpg

Neither had I until that set came up on fleebay... didn't need the sockets but was looking for the swivels but the price ended up being right... $54 to be exact.

Mazdaratti where'd you find the green picks? Very interested.

Like Chadwilliam1 said they are a torx set.... check ebay the picks come up from time to time.
