I sold my 15" Wilton floor drill press and replaced it with a 20" Jet floor model that arrived on Friday afternoon. There was nothing wrong with the Wilton other than there have been a few times where I needed a little more throat distance between the column and the center of the chuck as well as a little more power. The Wilton drill press was the first "new" piece of equipment that I had purchased when I built my new shop at home back in 1995. Most of the tools/equipment I had at the time I transferred from my shop at my parents farm to my home shop but the drill press was my dad's so I couldn't take that with me. I had gotten really used to using a drill press between my dad's and the one we had at work so I figured I had better get one vs. freehand drilling with an electric drill motor and a vise.

what model is this? i just picked up a used jdp-20mf. i have the same issue and was wondering what you'd charge to fab up a similar spacer. im learry about putting it on wheels but that would also give me the added height and work with my cluttered and crammed shop

Thought I would include my contribution to this thread; the Gearwrench set was $60 (on sale) at Sears and I have been wanting them for a while. Now I realize what all the buzz is with Snap On ratchets.

Got this little puppy for $62 shipped, all brand new. :3gears:

So this came missing a 1/4" 6pt 9mm deep socket, a 3/8 to 1/4 adapter, a 5/8 spark plug socket, 1 random bit(not sure what, but I'm thinking a phillips), and it may have had a set of hex keys in the empty void on the top part.

It came with an extra 1/4" 8mm 6pt deep socket, an unknown 1/2" 6pt 7/16 socket, and 4 tiny hex keys.

The bit driver is made in China and feels like a dirty diaper, but everything else is great.

Picked this up today from CL.
The owner was asking $15. I gave him a twenty. I know it's an import. The switch it not factory, I will go over the wiring when I get a chance. Seems to work ok as it is.

I scored this unopened craftsman jointer/planer at work basically for free. I built a corner shelf for my wife out of some wood on a barn we are tearing down on our property. A guy at work seen it and offered to pay me or trade me something if I would build him one for his man cave. He brought in this unopened jointer today and I brought it home. Im not sure of the age, I'm guessing early to mid 90's. I almost hate to open it up.

Also, while I'm at it I will show off my last yard sale pick-up of the year. I got this craftsman commercial box filled to the brim with tools for $40. Most of the tools are junk, but I did ****** a couple proto wrenches, and a decent napa hex bit socket set out of it.

It will be my track tool box / carrier of all junk that I usually put in a big tupperware container in my 944 Turbo. I really want to make an effort to organize and minimize what I carry with me, its got out of hand the last few years.

I know what you're thinking, why on earth would you get a KTC SKC-M tool box for your German track car, why not the obvious choice of a Hazet 190L? I like the KTC version since it only has 2 cantilever fold outs which allows full access to the bottom of the box, on the Hazet version the bottom is never fully accessible. Plus the KTC version is cheaper and more unique, as much as I love my Hazet stuff, it is SO expensive.

Thanks to Frank at www.frankstools.com for sourcing and sending it to me!

My newest arrivals. Just picked them up at Summit Racing in Tallmadge yesterday.

More importantly though, is this next new arrival. Or should I say my arrival to it. Was moving from Waynesboro PA to Fort Wayne IN yesterday, hence driving by Summit in Tallmadge (Planned? NOOOOOOoooooooo).

Better pics to come, probably in a separate thread. Lets just say that I am one HAPPY camper to actually have a garage after two years without.

I think I'm pretty well set on 3/4" Drive stuff now.:D
Kobalt USA 12pc 3/4" drive SAE set 15/16-2" (Less 1 5/16, 1 1/2 & 1 9/16)
Allen USA 3/4" drive 1 9/16" Socket
Gearwrench 19" 3/4 drive breaker bar
DSCN1653.jpg

My Williams USA 1 5/16" & 1 1/2" sockets are in the picture. Kicking myself for just missing a Snap-On 1 1/2" socket on Ebay that the winning bid was $4. Would've been a big improvement over my beat up Williams...

Went through a garage sale and came out with these offset box wrenches (no name, New Britain, and one chrome moly), Craftsman open end, and an Indestro socket set box (empty). All USA.

Proto Locking Pliers
Part# JHK4XL

This kit includes a c-clamp mount for the pliers that turns the locking pliers into a portable vise. The tools are made in Spain (Grip-On) and the fit and finish are excellent.

I plan on getting the smaller sizes, too.

Some new hose clamp pliers. He had to order them and already did dads heater core which would have helped then. Oh well. In the drawer for next time.
