It's been a good year at my house. Got a new job, and I'm actually making some decent money. I also was very lucky to get some excellent gift cards from Amazon as Christmas gifts.

Most of these items have been on my wish list for years, so it was nice to finally pull the trigger!

First up, Ingersoll Rand SK4C3F flip socket set:

They'll make a nice companion to the IR Thunder Gun that I scored from our local Sears, which is closing. Ended up getting the Thunder Gun for right at $150, which I felt was a good price even for a floor model. Hopefully, the IR Garage Mate I bought last fall can keep up---still haven't had a chance to put it to work!

I have big plans for this little jig!

Next, a Makita product that I've been lusting after for years, the JR3070CT reciprocating saw 15 amps! This thing is a TANK! And look at that heavy metal case---don't see those much anymore.

The *Hot Deals* section of GJ hooked me up with this Porter Cable PC250MTK Oscillating Multi-Tool. On the suggestion of another GJer, I added the universal blade adapter. All told I've got about $75 in it---thank you GJ for the Lightning Deal tip!

Finally, my brand new Dewalt DW716 double bevel compound miter saw. I debated long and hard between this and a Makita 10" slider, and in the end I just couldn't justify the extra cost for a slider. I haven't calibrated it yet, but it has a nice feel out of the box! (If you look really hard, you can see my Estwing Sportsman's Axe resting on the sleeping bag in the background---a "new tool" last summer!)

I received them for free from a business acquaintance of mine.

Zorotools.com also sells them, and Grainger has good pricing , too if your company gets a reasonable discount.

Dang. Those clamp kits are expensive. Even with my Grainger discount still $75. Just the pliers are about $20 I think. Pretty cool though.

The BEAST arrived today. Yes that's right, I got in on the 58 inch Mayhew Dominator pry bar mentioned in the Hot Deals thread. The bar is 3/4 inch stock, curved tip, and heavy. They were listed for $18.45 plus $8 shipping from New Jersey no less. I had some Ebay bucks so, I got all of that Mayhew goodness for $19.95 delivered to my front porch.

Black hard handles and craftsman.

Deep 14mm ¼dr socket, 10/11mm, 12/14mm, 17/19mm offset craftsman USA. I'll be going back for the 13/15mm.
My Sears stocks a lot of individual craftsman professional wrenches, which I find excellent.

Misc Ebay purchases. 3/8 driver handle will end up on a 3/8 ratchet. Two others are small handled carburetor adjusters I use the handles for misc projects.
Two snap on ¼ extensions.

I'm going to be using it in an automotive setting mainly for interior and trim work where there are many small screws. A small handy driver like that is going to save me alot of sweat when I have my back crunched over and head stuck in the dash. I may have to cross the line down south if Lowes have them at 149 for the set. The local places here want over $100 just for one of them.

Trim screws are very easy to strip as is the material they go into. You might want to get a power screwdriver with sensitive torque settings. An impact driver will strip everything in sight. I had a Milwaukee 4 volt that was superb for what you are looking to do. Unfortunately, Sandy stole it from me. I bought a DeWalt 7.2v screwdriver to replace it. It has all the torque settings and all, but I hthink its waaaayyyyy overkill. I was walking past a stair that had come loose and the Dewalt was in my hand. It zipped a 2 1/2 inch screw into Oak without even trying. Prior to the Milwaukee, I had a 3.6v Makita. The problem with tha twas, no torque settings. I stripped a couple of screws going into plastic. That's when I realized I needed sensitive torque settings.

I think you'll be happy with that saw. I bought an earlier model (very minor differences) ten years ago when we moved to our "fixer upper" house knowing I'd have some need for it with many assorted projects. Plenty of power and easy to use!

Thanks. I have experience with a couple of other 12" miters...a big Ridgid slider and an older Milwaukee slider. I took a chance on the DeWalt by buying it without actually using it, but I did have several opportunities to look over display models.

I still haven't had a chance to zero all the settings on it, so I haven't used it yet. I did get it mounted to my MasterForce MX77 rolling saw stand.

Got my latest order from Harry Epstein, and it is a doozy!

First up, a U.S.A. made flexible funnel. This is my second one, can you tell I was pleased with the first? Dirt cheap, too. Love it!

Thanks! it's very very hard to find a complete socket set that's not missing an odd size. SK happened to have sets not skipping anything, so I went with them. A bit more expensive than Craftsman, but then again Craftsman doesn't make a 1/8" or a 4.5mm socket.
