Golly gee melvin something looks like its missing here na your good box it and ship it lol. Seriouslt that looks to be a nice set.

I think what happened is they had sent me the ratchet as part of an earlier shipment, but it turned out defective so back in went (this was a few weeks ago, so not like it's crossed in the mail). This was supposed to come with a shipment that included another 422, plus a long 5-drawer cantilever box, a 9x11 flare wrench, and a 20mm 3/8" drive socket (another defective arrival exchange). For some reason all I got was this. The weirdest part is if they were just going to send me this they would have sent it weeks ago. They were waiting on the cantilevel box to come in before shipping. Around the time they expected it to come I got a shipment notification, so I figured it came in, but for some reason only this was included.

Seems like everyplace is screwin up shipments anymore hope you get it straight with them.

Ha, it's in their best interest to get it right! One of the perks with going through an old-fashioned sole-proprietor salesman: I haven't paid for anything yet. He just had them drop ship this order because some had to come special order, so it didn't go to him first to inspect. That said, I can accept that they missed the defective 422 I got last time because the defect wouldn't be noticed unless you used it. The 20mm socket they sent last time should have never shipped - patches of rust.

Those Stahlwille sockets looks sweet!

And to help explain how I chose Stahlwille...
Beta isn't exactly bad (well, I wouldn't know since I haven't bought anything from them in the past 5 years or so, but they at least weren't bad). This picture shows a 7mm Beta 3/8" drive next to a 7mm Stahlwille 3/8" drive.
Both sockets are equally deep (i.e. there is the same amount of height available to the head of the bolt), yet look at how much shorter the Stahlwille is.

Apex sent me the ratchet wrenches to fill the missing spots in the set I bought. The wrench rack is an eBay purchase. The wire strippers, aerospace ratchet and right angle screwdrivers are from H.E.

From Home Depot, Plano parts box (I actually needed it!) and a Dasco 3 piece prybar set (I will find a use for them!)
From Sears, 2 sets of reversible bits so I can make more 'custom SDDDM1' screwdrivers ala supra90turbo.
2 Olfa touch knives from my buddy's office...someone gave him boxes of them years ago :D

Yeah the 3 pack of Irwin Pliers was $12 at Home Depot. I found them over by the hand tools on a metal clip rack.

Some tools I recently bought.

A Ryoby multimeter.
I like it. It suits my needs of basics automotive checking. It's well build and impact, dust & water resistant.

The very latest one is a cheapo chinese digital micrometer. I bought it for 32€ including shipping cost directly from china!
I bought it mostly for curiosity sake. I don't need something that work with 0.001mm. And it was so cheap I couldn't resist :bounce:

I test it and it looks spot on.
With my regular micrometer I'm just shy of 10.89mm (Sorry guy's, I'm from the metric side ;) But it works also with Inch)

And with the chinese stuff, I have 10.889mm

It's a bit heavy and worked a bit rough out of the box, but turn now freely after a little use.

Perfect!

Congratulations Monte. :)

"perfect" is a good description of the tool ;)
btw. Thanks ! I´m happy :D ;)

Nice Monte that set you back a little I have checked prices on those There nice but pricey :shocking:

that´s right, it´s a bit more expensive than the competitors models, but if you take the Bosch PS31 or Milwaukee 2410-22 for example than you have to add the Bosch PS10 or PS11 or the Milwaukee 2415-20 because the Festool comes with an angle attachment and you´d have to add the price of a "L-Boxx" or "Systainer" or "Dewalt Tough system case" (etc.) and then the price is about equal.

Furthermore you have some nice features which most competitors don´t have:

- 3 yrs. warranty on tool and batteries
- belt clip
- bit storage on tool
- very good built quality, no burrs in the plastic, plastic/rubber parts fit exactly
- Centrotec/Fast Fix quick change chuck system
- Perfect ergonomics
- rubber coated torque adjustment ring
- virtually no axial/radial play of the spindle/chuck
- Made in Germany (tool + charger)
- 30 day money back guarantee: if you don´t like the tool, send it back and get a full refund

more info: http://drills.festoolusa.com

Example of the built quality:

the rubber/plastic parts meet exactly, without the annoying gap ("dirt trap") which you find on competitors tools....

Those small Dasco bars are nice. I have found that filing one tooth thinner makes the smallest size more useful.
