I think its def. worth it. Though hard to stomach. Fortunately they were like 10% off for a while. At least through my dealer till end of Jan. So made it a tad better.

I was in our local part shop yesterday, as it was Saturday there was only one guy on the counter. So while I was waiting I was browsing the small collection of tools for sale and saw these.

I've been looking for a set of 1/2" drive hex sockets so these came home with me for $63, 45% off list price.

SK 13-piece fractional wrench set for work. I have a lot of hydraulic and pneumatic plumbing to do in the next few weeks, so I upgraded from my harbor freight set.

The last weeks haul...

13 piece thin profile ES Tools USA made open end wrench set - $5 at an antique store. Hopefully I'll find somewhere to use them. Never heard of the brand but look like they'd be great low torque options where thickness of standard wrench is an issue.

Stabila pocket pro magnetic level - Made in germany, portable and accurate enough for my needs with rare earth magnets mounted 90 degrees opposed.

12" Pliers Wrench - 2" heads on flange bolts will be much nicer now that I can grip backside and impact frontside easily. Perfect for pipe unions as well with their octagon pattern.

Proto 8 and 10" adjustables - $2 each. Couldn't resist.

Enderes prybars - Good prybars from USA company thats hit some hard times. Still some available stock at the mom and pop tool store in town so had to take advantage.

Bahco Volvo wrench - made in Sweden. Knurl operates reverse of norm and is an extremely tight action. Alligator end is a steeper pitch than their adjustable alligator reversibles and doesn't grip as well, but still a nice wrench

Bridgeport Hdwe. Mfg. Co. NOX TOX USA made prybar hammer combo. Might be my favorite of the lot. Hammerhead makes a great handle.

sweet wrenches man! but is it just me or does the 5/16 open end look a little bigger than it should be :headscrat

It's not an optical illusion, the 5/16 does look a little wacky. The opening is about the right size, but the outside edges look wrong. I'll measure the opening to be sure.

Just some of the newest stuff.
Some metric wrenches.
A LockingPlier
Needlenose plier
And a two faced hammer.
These tools are just some cheapo ****, so I can get some basic car building going.
And since I'm a student, it's not alot of money around..

Good to see you mention Enderes Tool. Recently I was looking for a small pin punch to replace a Bostitch roofing gun trigger valve. Spotted a 5pc set from Enderes and happily snapped it up. I also use their alignment punches as drawbore pins. Hopefully things turn for the better for them, they could sure use a Garage Journal day (more here).

Just a cheap-y drill press from Craigslist. Scored it and a transit/stand and a set of swivel castors for $150.

Picked this stuff up off of craigslist today. I mainly wanted the Craftsman ratchets, so the other stuff is a plus. The ratchets are really nice, I have been looking for a deal on some for a while, and these appear to be new. Craftsman 1/2" V breaker bar, and some Snap-on stuff on the right.

I had never seen a ratchet adapter so that is pretty cool, it's 1/2" drive and dates to 1951 and is pretty good shape.

Anyway not a bad day for me, all of this stuff plus some odd ball craftsman razor blades and multi-tool thing for $85.

Made my first ever stop at a pawn shop today. Picked up a Stanley 8 oz claw hammer, a 1/4" drive Great Neck ratchet, a no name 1/2" drive ratchet, and a Husky stubby screwdriver just to test the waters. When the man said 4 dollars total I gladly paid the price. Looks like I'll start cruising the local pawn shops when time allows.
