whoa nice! where did you get the bondhus ball drivers from? I would like to get those.
Picked them up off of Amazon. They're extremely useful. SAE and metric.

Noctone, return the Chinese made Crescent wrench and get an old US made one...trust me :D
Haha yeah I know what you mean. It gets the job done but I've been disappointed in the adjusting mechanism. For what I use it for I might just ditch it altogether and buy some Channellock, Knipex or NWS tongue and groove pliers.

At least now I can see and cut and grind and I won't burn myself up in the process even if I can't weld very well. :willy_nil

^^ channellock!!

ehhhhhhhhh

Was at HD tonite picking up a few random things and checked out the Channellocks. Really didn't care for them, would much rather use something with a push button locking mechanism. Switching between the grooves on the Channellocks seemed really finicky and more annoying than it should be. :|

On a side note: if anyone needs locking pliers, for some odd reason HD is selling Irwin 10WR/5WR combo packs for $9.88. :wtf: I was just ambling around and noticed them hanging off a side rack. Didn't really need them since I already have a pair in each size but for as much as we use them at work and for that price I said eff it and bought two.

I travel a lot for work and it took me 3 months to complete a set from the 6"-12" in USA MADE. They are always in the back of the peg hook. I may buy a bigger one soon just to have just in case. I find tool stores and pawn shops in every city I go to. If you find an older lowes. HD, sears/sears hardware they will have some nos usa made stuff

The push button water pumps design are nice but nothing is more stout than the traditional interlock design that is on the Channellocks. Also, once those Channellock pliers are in service a bit, they wear in enough that changing positions is more smooth and not as sticky as when new, plus you are supporting an American job and not a Chinese one with those offshore Irwins.

May give them another look then, the sticky positioning was my biggest turnoff. Not particularly concerned about COO inasmuch as it relates to economics, but I do avoid Chinese stuff generally due to quality issues.

One other thing I would prefer about NWS and Knipex is the hex forms inside the jaws, whereas the Channellocks are just a straight jaw.

May just end up buying both Channellock and Knipex/NWS and see what I like more.

So heres my latest craigslist haul. Most all sockets and some wrenches are older CM. The speeder handles and box is also CM. The rest is a mix of Thorsen, jet and buffalo. Some odd stuff too. Final price was under 20$.

Scored a Cman Thin Profile 3/8 ratchet from my local Ace Hardware store. Made from the good ol' US of A.

Also wanted to pick up a 1/4 ratchet, but they were out. When I went to Sears to see if they had it, they had 3/8 there, but they were made in Taiwan.
I guess Ace stocks old ratchets...?

Channellock proponents will be happy:

Didn't really need the linemen's pliers but I'm waiting on a pair of NWS combination pliers and it'll be nice to have these in the mean time (plus the NWS I ordered are smaller, so these'll be nice for rare heavy duty applications).

And an 80% impulse/20% need buy:

Already have two 18V drill/drivers, two 12V impact drivers and an 18V impact driver, but I deal with a lot of low torque screws for which an impact driver would be inappropriately overpowered (even at 12V) and for which drill/drivers are a bit awkward and inefficient. Gotta say, DeWalt really nailed it with the ergonomics and form factor on their 12V MAX line. Feels like an extension of my hand more than any other brand I've owned or played around with. And the LED placement is great.

I know you can charge the 12 volt on the 20 volt charger but can you charge the 20 volt on the 12 volt charger that is included?

Well I went to check out a craigslist ad for a craftsman bench grinder this weekend and after looking at the grinder, i asked those magical words: "What else are you selling?" I ended up leaving with all this:

-Columbian 204 1/2 vise
-Rockwell model 14 bandsaw
-Craftsman 1/3 hp grinder and homemade stand (i really need to stop buying these. This now makes 3 1/3 hp ones and one 1/2 hp)
-old 8 drawer card file (I plan on putting trays in it for parts storage)

Ah i forgot. I did buy the bolt out sets at Sears too. They seem pretty nice, and I really enjoy having the right tool for the job even if I don't need it right now.
