How do those strip bolt sockets work? I saw them in the flyer but decided on something else. My snappy ones have the same head design, just not that spring at the bottom. Whats the purpose of all of that rather than the solid design?

Here are the ones I have got for a comparison to what I am trying to say

The spring I think you're referencing is for the socket rail. They work similar. I really don't think they have much difference.

HSS burrs and this super expensive file $36!!!!1
Glad I'm not paying for it.
Swiss made. Could explain the price.
Grobet-Swiss definitely isn't cheap, but it's really good stuff.

I have a couple of sets of their needle files, and they're excellent IMHO. :)

Armstrong stubby SAE wrenches in black oxide finish and reversible ratcheting wrenches both arrived yesterday!

I really like the longer length of the Armstrong compared to the GearWrench. It also feels better in my hand. I got the ratcheting wrenches from Cripe off eBay, I thought maybe they would ne NOS 36 tooth count ratchets but they are 72 tooth count.

I may have to keep an eye out for a metric set to replace my GearWrench set.

The stubbys are a bit long but I don't that that should pose too much of an issue. I rarely ever use SAE, but both of these were too good of a deal on eBay to pass up.

yep hit the truck today driver got 2 I grabbed both

My driver had two as well. He also got in a blue 24 oz deadblow hammer and a set of the long cabinet style blue screwdriver sets.

He also had a electric screw gun set in blue with lithium ion batteries but for 260 I couldn't justify it for made in china.

Nice Vaughan hammer drawer. I saw those wood handled brick hammers in the clearance section as well but I already have 2 Estwing steel brick hammers and couldn't justify buying a third. Then again, when I checked the price was $16 and not $8.95 At that price I would have to get it, just cause...

Oh and I would recommend, if you do some framing that you add the Vaughan 23oz Bluemax with curved handle to your collection. This is the best wood handled framing hammer on the market in my opinion.

Depending on if you like the smooth or milled face. I'd use the milled face if you mainly use common nails for extra gripping. If you use primarily galvanized or stainless nails, the smooth face would be better so you don't damage the surface coating on the nail heads nearly as much.

SPI 24inch Dial Caliper. China but it comes with an certs. It might be B.S. but the caliper has a serial number that matches the cert of the NIST Calibration. After ENCO discount and work discount I got a good deal.

The clearance price sticker on mine wast $16 also and I had intended to pay that, but it scanned at the register for $10.97 and then I got another 10% off for the Friends & Family sale. $10.71 total w/tax.

Thanks for the recommendations!
