Figured grinding and wire wheeling without a mask was suicide so I got one.

Nothing really special, some easy outs and a digital caliper. Also got 2 adjustable wrenches but I didn't have them out of the truck so they aren't in the picture.

Those bolt cutters do rock, I love them. I bought a cheap pair, and thought size wise they ****. Borrowed my neighbors knipex, man it was night and day. Had to buy into the band wagon

Kinda went on a binge buy today. Snappy guy got my orange picks in. Then was going to meet the guy from CL to get the extractor set and he suggested we meet at lowes :) So some knipex made its way home. Especially for $40 for the set. The extractors got for $65 and brand new. Even put them to work this evening, made getting a broken oil pan bolt I've been cussing the past few days a breeze!

Bought a Craftsman 13X15mm box wrench while I could still get one. The 13X15mm in my set has a worn out 13mm end; it's going into semi-retirement, as the 15mm end is still good.

I "really" wish I could understand Lowe's and where they are going.

Made a Kentucky run south this morning and stopped in one.

8" Knipex Linesman combo pliers $8.99. list is $29.

7 1/4" Aliigators for $7.99

Nicholson files $1.54 each.

Vaughn hammers on clearance. USA COO.

$12 ea list . They were unmarked and in clearance so they said $5 ea. Okey dokey.
Cheaper than tips. Just buy new hammers. Sweet.

LOL.

Whoever I get for GJ secret santa now has a hint at some of what they get,

Muahahahahahahaha!!!!!!

:p

Woa, you ****. I stopped by my local lowes over on the west-ish side this afternoon for some electrical tape and misc. Only hammer marked down was a kobalt standard claw hammer for $1.50. I have no need for another claw hammer, plus the more important factor "made in china" :puke:

Been looking for a soft faced hammer like that so hopefully they start slashing prices here soon. I notice this particular lowes is usually the last one to lower prices around here :dunno:. The flex head ratchet combo is still at $15.** and none of the knipex stuff is marked down. :(

Kentucky, I try not to cross that border too often :lol_hitti

nice. Lowes wants to only sell things made in China!

Yep, the sorry part of it is that they are dumping any US-made product in the process. And people want the Chinese/etc. stuff badly. Look at the long-running posting in the Hot Deals section where hundreds of people are going nuts buying the Kobalt 3/8 ratchet. People want the stuff.

I don't think it is so much people want the chinese stuff, they are attracted to the lower prices that china manufacturing provides. Also most of the mechanics type hand tools are Taiwan made where things like hammer, pliers, files, and other misc items are China made, big difference if you ask me. I wonder what the cost to manufacture difference is between Taiwan and China? :dunno:

I have a sad feeling in a few years we will be excited about getting Taiwan tools and not China. :( In 20 years go to a garage sale and see "O score this is Kobalt Taiwan, not the current China junk, awesome" I have a sad feeling by the time I have kids, "Made in USA" will be a thing of the past. :(

Little haul from a Lowes that still had stock. Going to list the extra 2 knipex insulated sets up here in the classifieds for those like me that don't have a local Lowes with a good selection.

Just wondering, why did you pay for a new one and not just warranty swap the bad one for the new one?

Nice work. Have you used it, yet?? Wondering what the quality on those is. I've had a little experience with them and wouldn't mind having a video borescope. Always wondered about the quality on the store-brand models.

Made in USA craftsman gasket scrappers. Seemed like a good deal for $25 plus the match the 3 piece pray bar set that was USA made.

As for the kobalt deal, ya, a lot of people jumped on it hand over fist. It was a killer deal. Its a great ratchet regardless of where it was made.

Remember a who back when sears did they're market research? Price was number one determining factor on whether or not majority of people bought something.

Now if that same kobalt kit would have been $35 or so, I doubt the response would have been the same.

Well, I have a matching set of them from 6-19mm, they have a form that I like, they are vintage so it would be a shame to loose a still usable tool and finally they were my uncle's.

Picture is color and slightly fuzzy, but perfectly acceptable for my needs. Within an hour of buying it I fished the camera into my chevy truck's bellhousing and checked the flexplate for cracks. Big plus is the unit runs on AA batteries and the led light has adjustable brightness :rocker:

Those closeout sales are ridiculous. I'd be amazed if anywhere else in the world has the types of sales, Americans get to access. Here, if they're trying to get rid of old stock, shop soiled, etc, vendor still tries to sell it for a profit. Product sits there for ages, unsold. In the U.S, new high quality product is virtually given away.

Grabbed this the other day. I should have bought an Armstrong to save a few bucks. Either way it's a great ratchet and I am glad to add to the collection. I even got to use it....1999 Saab 9-5 Blower Resistor....need I say more?
