I bought the Snap-on XLE605 5-Piece Torx Box Wrench Set. These will come in handy for all the e-torx bolts on my Saturn. This was the most complete set I found and it was USA made.

I have been too cheap to buy a set. Those are nice. I have ran into a few fasteners on my BMW that I couldn't access with a socket but was able to use a 12 point box end. Its on my list of things to buy though.

Several companies make etorx wrenches. I use sockets on these bolts most of the time but there are times when a wrench is handier. My research turned up the following.
>Snap-on XLE605 with 5 pieces and 10 sizes
>S-K #86211 with 4 pieces and 8 sizes
>Gearwrench #9224 set of 4 ratcheting pieces and 8 sizes.

Snap-on and S-K are from USA while Gearwrench is from Taiwan. These are hard to find in stores so I ordered online. I'm real tempted to buy the Gearwrench set but I will wait to give Snap-on or S-K a chance to introduce a ratcheting set. If I need to ratchet, I can always go to the sockets, available from Lisle, Snap-on and others.

Another thing to consider. The larger heads on the ratcheting wrenches will sometimes make them unusable in the tight confines of a Saturn or BMW engine compartment. The Snap-on wrenches are the slimmest and most practical for these cars.

I totally agreed! I have lots o ratchet wrenches and i usual go for my sockets, or regular stahlwille combo wrenches because they are to fat for the most!

I won these from Toolsdirect on their clearance Ebay auctions from the Hot Deals section.

All the tools were listed as open stock without packaging and were pictured as such. The picture of the scrapers showed 3 dominator and 1 Mayhew Select. I was pleasantly surprised to receive all matching scrapers in an unopened package.

SK 1/4" ratchet, 1/4" and 3/8" universals, and 1/4" extension.

well i got this set for $207 from the mac truck, for sure not snap on quality like my other stuff but for the price you can't beat it! one thing is the screwdrivers seem really crappy compared to my snap on instinct handles, but i will just use them as my beaters haha.

I browsed the Craftsman tool department again today and picked up a pair of XL Craftsman mechanic gloves. Most gloves don't seem to fit my meaty hands but since these worked out when I tried them on, I decided to make the purchase. I usually just wear disposable vinyl gloves to protect from oil or cotton jerseys when I need hand protection but since these are padded and specifically designed to prevent knuckle busting, I might as well have a pair. The gloves hail from Indonesia. If the gloves prevent one injury or burn, they will have paid for themselves many times over.

I also picked up a Craftsman USA 15/16" socket in 1/2" drive since my rail was missing this one.

Just a heads up you may want to look at a different option as far as the helmet. The replacement lenses are insain expesive. Just my two cents. Awesome welder by the way.

I have the same pairs and hate them.
They sit lonley in my box day after day.
Bought them on a Balck Friday deal years ago.

Many here like them, but mainly for the price.

Me, I find the quick adjust nice but the overall design and feel quite clunky and sloppy.

I'm not being snippy, but just like to see how others like and use them.
A tools a tool, and personal experience with what you buy counts for a lot thus my interest.

Finally have a complete USA Craftsman Thin Profile ratchet set. The 1/2" is a refurbished I picked up as a warranty replacement and the rest are NOS from a local hardware store. They still had one 1/2" drive on the shelf also but I didn't see a point in having two. Plus it was around $47.

Came across this hidden gem in my goal to swap out some Chinaman to Craftsman!

I had a $10 off 100 plus 10 in SYWR and few other discounts b/c Mrs. Opened up her mouth for once in a good way "Why do you have to get the dirty ones, they look used"



Just like Cman Industrials and my SO. I ran out to the garage to grab a SO wrench and lay it over and EXACTLY THE SAME!



I also came across these GEMS. USA Impact sockets...they are not Industrial to match all my others but this is as close as I am going to get. These sockets actually paid my back since I bought brand new Chinaman Set at a local pawn shop for $20. Return Chinaman and keep the Cman.





Also picked up a few 6pt 1/2 drive sockets to fill a few blanks. I need a few more but left my list at work.



Sales Associate was great let me keep my coupons b/c I told I will be back and this was not even at my local Sears Stomping ground!

I will be there tomorrow to return the Chinaman Impact Sockets and make some kid happy b/c I e-mail saying that a Set of tools I was eyeing are in stock and ready for order. It is ONLINE only, so I will order in store so he gets some commission money! Hopefully they are USA. I have not seen a Chinaman set in them yet!
