do those door switch clamps really work? I need those if they work as well as I hope.

This is my second set and on my cars they work very well indeed, the door chime on the Crowns would drive anyone insane within minutes.

Is that KTC oil filter cup wrench only for 'cartridge' type oil filters or is it for the basic standard oil filter?

This is for standard spin-on filters.

The missus went shopping and got me this Premier (Sealey) 18" 3/8 drive breaker bar

Was scouting around for a new torque wrench. I have a Summit brand that has served me well the last few years. The thing I do not like about it is the plastic handle . The white in the numbers started wearing, it is readable but takes some effort.

I found a wrench that some here might be interested in hearing about. How about a SnapOn 20-150 for a 122 beans, no mistake that is the price.. There is this company CDI Torque Products, they manufacture, torque wrenches. Place the SnapOn logo on the wrench and we all know what SnapOn does with the price .........X2 or 3.

This does not say SnapOn on it, reads CDI Torque Products. Still made in the USA, same wrench in a black case, guessing SnapOn's case would be red. It is the real deal that is rebranded SnapOn, not the other way around, very nice product.

The big one is the valve spring compressor. Going to need it for rebuilding the engine from my 68 caddy. And for 2 dollars I feel great.

Stopped by Menard's to use a a rebate credit and grabbed a 1/4" drive Irwin breaker bar, Some Channellock needle nose pliers and a pair of cheapo Tool Shop channel locks to exchange at Lowe's. Unfortunately, the Lowe's Irwin display was gone. That's ok, they'll just go in the chain saw tool box.

Then I made the trip down to Home Depot to price match a Do It Best hardware flyer, Irwin Vise Grips, 10" locking or 6" needlenose for $5.97. I asked the guy in hardware about buying a refill tape for my FatMax tape measure. He went ahead and gave me a new one on a honor exchange. I just need to bring the old one back. Talk about good customer service.

Did the pliers trade in at Lowe's, noticed a couple pairs of Craftsman T&G in there, a few slip joints, etc.

Also picked up a new Mini-Maglite and LED Upgrade kit since I seemed to have lost mine.

depending on the size I have a few that fits both

Thanks for the info Van Steel and Kiatech, I'm thinking of getting one.

Kiatech, by chance would you happen to know what size would fit a Toyota Tacoma oil filter for a 6 cyl. Engine?

Again thanks fellas for your input!

Holy ****, it's taken me forever in most of my spare time but that's 514 pages read! This forum is definitely bad for the wallet, since starting to read this I've brought a set of franklin impact sockets, Wera kraftform lasertips, knipex side cutters, some el cheapo internal circlip a that I now want to replace with knipex, and ordered a set of the Wera vde screwdrivers and franklin pry bars from my tool truck, wouldn't mind some knipex cobras but they are fairly pricey for how often I need them in my job, How are the Irwin pairs rated? also about to pull the trigger on the new 18v XR Li ion Dewalt 1/2dr impact wrench :)

CDI is owned by Snap On, similar to Williams, they are a "Snap On Industrial Brand". The only difference between the torque wrenches are the ratchet head, as someone else mentioned. And of course the brand etching. They are ever so much as good quality, and if i remember, carry the same warranty.

do you have a link do those clamps?

I got these from Mutsuura through Rakuten.

I don't know much about US market Toyota's so I only found 2 V6's. If it's a 5VZ-FE (3.4 litre) you need AVSA-073 (72.5 mm, 14 sides), for the 3GR-FE (4.0 litre) you want AVSA-064 (64 mm, 14 sides).

Exactly my point, the craftsmanship, function and calibration the same. I don't see that a ratchet head and a red box justify the difference of the prices. Not for my purposes for sure, this tool will get used.

I doubt you will use that much, think you should send it to me :lol_hitti

wish i could find old craftsman (and Blackhawk/Plomb etc) stuff over here, sadly those makes weren't ever really imported in big levels (or at all) so finding anything is a real challenge.

When you are in a cramped engine compartment it does, otherwise its not a big deal.
