Puller from HF. For use in a non-automotive enviroment. Will only see action about 4 to 6 times a year in a industrial environment. It was on sale, plus I used a 25% coupon to bring the cost down even further.

Looking around and finding prices for replacement brushes for my Craftsman 900.277230 4 1/2" angle grinder I stumbled on a garage sale ad. Not 5 miles from home. One item listed was an identical Craftsman grinder. So I drove over thinking at worst Id be just buying for the brushes, and just to peruse some used tools.
Hokey smoke!

Gave the man some cash and put it in the truck. Went back in just to see what else was there. Boxes upon boxes of stuff-most in tupper ware. Almost everything I looked at was brand new, from 1994 to 1997 but never used. Fella was selling all the tools for widower next door. Apparently her husband acquired tools- to acquire them. Rather bizarre. A lot of the stuff was very high dollar but very unique specialized stuff. Seller said neighbor would come over with a magazine ad-"wow look at this!". Next thing its being delivered.

Tried not to think about it too much and enjoy the story-but one of those odd moments-another mans passion & life, setting on a cement floor being sold for whatever can be had. Anyway..

Reminds me...I bought a lot of NOS Craftsman tools a year ago from the late 90s, early 00s. Most of it was wrench sets, still in the packaging with the receipts. The old man had passed and his son was selling them for 1/2 of the price they sold for originally. There were sets upon sets, several sets were duplicated 3-4 times.

Reading the receipts, he didn't even buy them on great sales or all at once. Can't figure out why he did it...

Lol, yep I just lucked up on this one...they are cheap on eBay, but the shipping is murder. Happened upon this one at a local machine shop. Now when I croak, I already have a headstone!

I ended up returning the Bernzomatic torch head that I purchased earlier in the week from Amazon.

My local Lowes had the same torch head on sale $45, which is $10 less than the same torch head that I bought on Amazon AND it included a Map-Pro fuel cylinder. Even after spending the $6 for the return shipping, it was still a better deal.

Come home on Friday, this is on the kitchen table. Not a bad day! Looking forward to testing it out today. Surprisingly light, which is a nice surprise.

It's balls out, buddy!

Enjoy!

lol. It was your various posts that made me look into it. I liked snap ons offering, but for half the price and much more expandability and warranty, I had to try it. Plus, I love the m12 stuff. I even wound up buying from Justin at bcfasteners. Thanks!

Great to hear! I love the M12 line up as well! The punch it has for 12V is just insane.

Got this from a local pawn shop. They wanted 150 but they had a "50% sale on all tools..."

I snatched it. Basically it is almost new and with a few minor scratches. Runs great. Cleaned it and dropped a few drops of pneumatic tool oil and presto!

Limited lifetime Warranty !! The same set from OTC only has a 3 year warranty.

I found that out when I used the set I bought for home use and the puller bar bent and spread at the slots wile using a 3/8 ratchet :shocking:.

I'll keep this in mind. I'm really not concerned with warranty considering the cost. If it turns out to be a dud, then I'll pony up and go Snap On, which I don't have a problem doing.

Pullers from HF have mixed reviews when it comes to durability, but then again I've seen morons screw up truck brand pullers right out of the box too.

I accidentally cut one of my old brand x straps so I found these brand new on Craigslist for 15 bucks. Just went and grabbed them.

I have two sets of those. They sold at Costco for 4/$20. They may still have them. Definitely not the best straps in the world, but damn well worth the money.

Picked up this craftsman 3/8" drill and flash light combo with 2 batteries and a charger FOR FREE! Charged up both batteries and I honestly don't think they have ever been used! Not the best tools but for a 21 year old I'm not gonna complain for free!

These are my recent pickups.
gu3evu4a.jpg

Yes, all five flukes are recent acquisitions. They were sold as not working/for parts. So I purchased them all in a lot for around the price of one used. I expected the worst but figured maybe I could piece together one working one and sell the parts from the rest to cover my costs. I figured at most I'd have to buy fuses as those are usually shot. Turns out I was quite wrong, in a good way. Two of them (a Fluke 87 and an 83V) were working perfectly but just needed some TLC to get the display back in order (just some cleaning to get rid of ghost/faded digits)

On the left the 83V is reading a 0.01% precision 196.0kohm resistor while the one the left is reading the supply set to 10.00V. The other 87 is in need of repair but "working" it reads 70v too high. I'm hoping I can repair that one. Lastly, the other 83 doesn't even turn on and the 111 turns for a few seconds then shuts off (plus no battery door). I'll contact fluke about that one and see if they have any service advice. Speaking of the fuses mentioned earlier. One meter was missing it's fuses, in the others the fuses were intact (about $50 in fuses).

Now for the screwdrivers. I needed a better selection of full size screwdrivers, so I decided to run by the loved/hated HF. These are the insulated screwdrivers. Interestingly they are made in Taiwan unlike the of HF screwdrivers I saw. They have VDE GS certification for 1000V insulation and were only $6.40 before sales tax. They feel nice in the hand (and in screw heads). More importantly they more than satisfy my needs for a generic inexpensive set of screwdrivers.

Wow that is some nice stuff. :scared:
What is that milwaukee thing? Almost looks like an amp clamp, but pistol grip. :headscrat

It is an amp clamp and it does have a pistol grip :D

I found it in the hot deals, and i must say it is very useful. Search google for "milwaukee clamp gun"

Early birthday present (turn 60 later this week).

Canadian made Craftsman 26" low height 7 drawer base cabinet (Item # 090 333 560 10). My plans are to attach it to my existing 5 drawer low height base cabinet to make a 12 drawer 52 inch base.

This is the second one I received. The first was sent back. The metal around all 4 corners of the drawer opening was buckled. I didn't even try to open the drawers, just repacked it in the carton and called Sears. My guess is that it had a fall at some stage during transport.

Sensible solution --> time to upgrade that box. :lol_hitti Joking. Maybe look into a hanging side prybar rack. Even a piece of 2x4 with holes or a few lengths of PVC would be a nice, economical solution.

Got all 3 off them boxes for free! I was actually looking at the side prybar rack/screwdriver rack. Assuming it can be made to fit onto my craftsman box?
