My first post... Be gentle.. Anyway i have to say that this thread (and few others) has directly influenced me to buy all these stuff. Envy can be a big motivation to go out on a whim and spend $800 on shiny **** when your rational reasoning tells you otherwise. My wallet hates you!

Couple of items still hasn't arrived yet. Cheers.

Hopalong, is that an Akita? I have a white male Akita who looks very similar if that is indeed an Akita.

Every time I work in Canada they guy I am working with has Mastercraft tools. For some reason I don't see them where I live. But I always joke around and call it Mastercrap. They said a lot of people say that so I was not the first. How is the quality of Mastercraft?
Like with most things you'll get mixed reviews. I like their Maximum brand wrenches, sockets and screwdrivers and they go on sale often. One of my brothers is a millwright and he says they have several Mastercraft cordless tools in their shop and they have all worked well which surprised him (me too). I use a lot of their consumables like 4.5" grinder and sanding discs and they've been good - again often on sale. I've tried their hammers and pliers in the past but I doubt I ever will again.

For years a lot of people have bought them out of convenience. You always seem to be at Canadian Tire for something.

OOOOOH how do you like the light? My headlamp is pretty good but I don't like feeding it AA's all the time. I like the 18650's for the power and the recharge-ability. Where did you get it and how much?

time to light up my work:

My eyes are getting worse in my old age and, at work I am pretty much constantly using some small battery powered light. I've been going through headlights about 1 every 3 or 4 months using the average Lowes / Home Depot tool department offerings. I'm getting sick of having to keep 2 in my tool box 'casue I never know when one will break. I also hate the constant use of AA's / AAA/s. I hit on the rechargeable 18650's in a decent hand help flashlight a while back and went investigating how I might turn my whole set of small lights into a group all powered by those.
The HC50 kit is all in that pic with ac/dc charger, light, and one rechargeable 18650 was 80 bucks delivered on Amazon Prime. I tried it last night when I opened the box - I lit up the back yard and could see pretty well out a good 150 feet away. I turned it on in a dark room and was really impressed with the "spill" - it's not a spotlight - it lights up the whole area. In that room it was just about like you turned the ceiling lights on - better because it was brighter where you aimed it. I like the fact that it runs on one 18650 battery, not 2 and is less bulky than a lot of similar output lights I looked at - you can also use 2 CR123's stacked if you have / want them. The head strap seems to hold it in place better than the cheapo lights - we will see how good that is when I get all upside down working inside a machine at work.
I also think the low power settings would be great for outdoor / camping use.

I also got two extra Panasonic 18650's for $20 and the Ultrafire light kit with charger and more rechargeable 18650's was 17 bucks.

Some sealey premier gearbox wrenches - a rather more palatable 40 bucks instead of 140'rrp. Some irwin tbars , some wera hex wrenches , a set of sealey premier 1/4 hex keys for my torque wrench and a set of laser difficult access sockets for a 4x4s steering rack im working on atm.

%255BUNSET%255D.jpg

Teng 5-25nm 1/4" torque wrench. Mostly for working on the bikes , a few silly light carbon bikes in our garage now all specifying low torques between 5-10 nm for clamps.

And an lboxx for my bosch 250 gop occilating multitool.

A good haul to come home too :)

^^ this. Tool sales make it very worthwhile for the $$. Only my brand OCD would make me buy at full price. I keep my wish list up to date and get informed when sales are upcoming.

Cambodian tires mastercrap tools quality is pretty good IMHO for the light duty jobs at home. I started off with them 10 years ago when I began my apprenticeship and slowly phased them out with RIPP OFF. Oops I mean snap on. My home box is full with mastercraft sockets, wrenches, screwdrivers etc.

Among a few other tools I picked up this week, I finally got the vacuum hub seal install tool for 05 and up ford superdutys. Much bigger then I imagined! That's a 13/16 socket for comparison.

She's a weird mix that we've never seen before. We fell in love with her at first sight. She's half white Pom and half schnauzer. Every body thinks she's a Sheba inu or a small Akita.

Just picked these up at the ups store ct4410 used off ebay and the sk set is new. Also picked up a 8mm flex socket and a circuit tester for my bro in law as a gift for helping me replace my water heater yesterday. He saw mine and I could see he wanted one.

I will have to post pics later server is slow for some reason can't load .....

So I'm really used to old school style hard handle screwdrivers. Decided to try these out to see what all the hype is about. I get it now.

I got one of those from my father that he got at a trade convention I love it. I use it for circuit board connections on hvac equipment all the time. Hopefully one day I will own a complete set. Where did you get yours from.

They feel incredible. I got mine from KMS Tools, it's a Canadian retailer. $29.99 for the set, not too shabby.

I already do, that thing is the size of my little snap on 7.2v screw gun with more power than the 3/8" 18v ni-cad dewalt gun I was used to.

Same here I was super crazy on having the snap on 7.2v screw gun that i didn't want to use anything but snap on, then one day I thought I would give the milwaukee screw gun a try sold the the snap on the next day.

got some more cordless today

Let me know how you like the m12/m18 impact, I'm thinking about it selling my snap on power tools and switching to the fuel line:thumbup:

Until you buy some Wiha's:D

I tried both, my hand preferred Wiha's handle, Wera's take's a different technique and is an acquired taste. I felt bad so I bought some Zyklops and a Koloss and love both.

Got one of those myself! Very useful for shrink tubing, and especially hockey sticks. Any folks out there with kids interested in hockey should have a heat gun if you're going with a 2 piece stick (so you can replace the blades as they get murdered :) )
