Yea, I LOVE the fact that the M18 charger I got with my kit can charge both M18 and M12. Thinking about the M12 ratchet and a smaller driver like that one.

I got the ratchet too (got it first actually). Man they're nice. I had to turn some wrenches by hand the other weekend and it was horrible and made the job take forever, lol. Spoiled.

Just picked this up at homedepot for 30. They had the cut off tool above it for 40. Picked this instead of the cutting off tool.

I wasn't planning on tool hunting today but my Dad came up to visit so did it anyway. Found a USA Vise Grip at Sears of all places. So I had to get it. Got another bottle opener from the clearance section as well.

Grinder stand from ENCO, Not sure if I'll send it back, or fix it, and keep it.
You can see how the box arrived, the tube part was banged up at the top.
I had to file the water cup opening a fair amount to get it to go on, and you can see the top base does not sit level.
It is poorly machined, or not machined at all, just cast to loose tolerances.
It might do OK though, once I shim it up a little.

I intend to mount my 12" craftsman disk sander on it.

Sure is good to have when you need it!
yeah, there nice to have, they say the craftsman one is the same as the snap on one.
Question/comment, why not just host your pictures here. They will stay here,
They open faster, and there is no need to delete them.
Most people that host elsewhere, delete there pictures in short order, then at a later date no one will know what tool you even are talking about.
Just my observation.

That looks exactly like the Craftsman one I bought my dad for Father's day last year. It had some loose tolerances too. What brand is that one?

$130? For how many pieces? The 7 piece set goes on sale quite often between Napa, sears and advanced auto parts. The 15 piece sets he has pictures the gray racks are long pattern combo wrenches.

You really paid $130 for gearwrench ratchet wrenches, and they was the 7 piece sets?

Why do you call them v wrenches? Always heard them as raised panel...anyways hit a pawn shop today to find some filler sizes of them to complete my sets in sae and metric. No pictures but they had a set that was in great shape bundled of 3/4 (didn't need but was included), 13/16, 7/8, 15/16, 1, 1-1/16, 1-1/8, and 1-1/4 for $40...offered them $20 out the door and they accepted!

Picked up a set of craftsman -v- wrenches sizes 3/8 to 1 inch. Seem to be almost new. Got them for $18

Got my replacement Hobart Handler 140 after the first one was damaged during shipping, I can't imagine how much it cost Amazon to Next Day Air it considering it's 70 lbs and the box is quite large!

1/2" Fuel Impact showed up this morning. It's got some nuts, heavy though.

You'd probably like my drawer of shame then. The wrench sets were one of the first things I bought. I didn't take the time to figure it out and realize buying in sets saves no money with Snap on. Thought about selling them but I do use them enough and don't want to take that big of a hit on them, I'd have to replace them with something else anyways So I guess it was a lesson learned. They are nice. I bought the OEX8B thru OEX52B set and OEXM80B thru OEXM360B set.

$90!?!? I've seen sets sell for not much more!

That wrench he got is $111.00 from Snap On.

$90 brand new was fine with me. I couldn't find it cheaper new. I saw a used one for for $5 less with engravings. I hope to get to the point you are at eventually. I am at the $100 or more per wrench level now so it will be slow. Since my dad has gotten older I find myself doing most of the maintenance on his bus and need bigger stuff then I typically have on hand for the cars.

Just picked up a pair of Snap-On HL138ACPG and I must say, there's significantly more slop in the joint than what I had expected.

I did a little searching and there was another member here who had the same issue and wound up just returning them & exchanging them for something else.

Has anyone else had a ridiculous amount of play in the joint with these pliers?

I've been wanting a pair of these forever, but if this is common to them...I'll wind up letting them go & stick with other pliers that have tighter tolerances in the joint.

They are all like that and it is by design. It is a three piece double joint compound high leverage pliers.

I think people have been selling them short and not actually putting them into use and seeing they are fine as made.

That's good to hear then. All of the other tolerances are definitely legit in my opinion...just didn't know if there was supposed to be so much "wiggle" in the handle in the vertical direction if the pliers are say, laying flat.

I have a pair and I agree that the slop is surprising. At first I was kind of disappointed by that. Using them, I realized that they provide awesome leverage and have grown to like them. besides, the pivot point of the jaws themselves is tight, it is only the pivot point of the handle that is sloppy. I'd much rather have that joint sloppy than have the pliers bind in use.
If i were you, I'd use them a bit before writing them off and selling them at a loss.

Yeah, they are a little off what you would expect of Snap-On and their other pliers when it comes to fit and finish.

I work in aircraft manufacturing and our industrial account with Snap-On runs into the Millions. That being said, we received about 30 of these a year ago and they were all like that and the tool-crib people brought it up with the local Snap-On industrial rep who elevated it and came back with technical paper from Snap-On. They said it was by design the joint slop with the handle due to the compounding action and the three piece manufacturing of it.

Thanks a lot guys. I'l definitely hold on to them then. Makes sense about the joint like what you were saying Hootbro.
