I don't know if this counts but I just got my really beat up and worn FAR7200 back from snap on's flat rate repair service. They replaced a ton of stuff on this repair. Now I gotta give it a good work out tonight.

UPS just dropped off my new BOSCH IWBH182!

I finally upgraded my cordless (compact) impact gun! I ordered it sight-unseen and my first thought was how small it is (that's good! I like that!) compared to my old DeWalt DW052 12v impact driver. It's also lighter! (and hopefully way more powerful too!)

With 4.0 Ah battery, the BOSCH IWBH182 weighs 3 lbs and 9 oz. The DW052 with 12v battery weighs 3 lbs and 11 oz. Those Lithium batteries probably make up the majority of that weight savings though.

The DeWalt was made in North America (Mexico), while the BOSCH impact and both batteries are made in Malaysia.

After ordering it, I've been reading all kinds of people choosing the Milwaukee M18 and the IR W7150. I wish I could have compared them, but I don't get out much. I hope I did okay with my decision. It's my first BOSCH product! :rocker:

Just ordered 5 sets of locking extensions from snap on. Also getting a quote on BJP1 and 312IPLM. My school is going to end in 4 weeks and I'm trying to get all the tolls I can.

BOSCH IWBH182 = 1650 in lbs tq (137.49 ft lbs tq)
Very good tool for taking off bolts under the hood or under the car.
I prefer Milwaukee m18 but this BOSCHis nice and compact:drool:
I like tools period and this one I would keep in a carry bag.

The smaller diameter grip is going to take some getting used to. It's like going from fat cruiser handlebars to a dirt bike. It really is tiny, about the same height as the old-*** DW052, but its head is way shorter. It's going to be great for the tight spots. A carry bag? I'm thinking about a kydex, inside-the-waistband sheath :pimpflash

It's my impact gun. Comparison in size to the old DeWalt that I thought was small and compact when I bought it many years ago. The Bosch's motor is so quiet (when not impacting, of course) with an extremely variable trigger. The DeWalt was pretty much full-on all the time. It smells so much better too. It's got that new drill brushless smell.

I axed all the cells inside the old DeWalt battery and soldered some 12 gauge flexible speaker wire to the battery case's terminals inside. A tight zip-tie and glue keeps it from pulling through the hole in the bottom, and it gets plenty of juice from that power supply. Now, it'll just be used in the drill, but I can't bring myself to get rid of that old DeWalt. We've been through a lot together. I could have just gotten an electric drill, but what fun is that? :eyecrazy:

I didn't want that dual-chuck thing that takes 1/4" bits inside of its square drive. I didn't like that big red ring around it's nose and it really needs those longer-than-1-inch bits, the kind with the slender waist for it to grab onto. I'd need to extend it with a bit-holder to use the 1" bits. Also, that dual purpose model looked much longer in the snout from the pictures.

After lusting for about a year over the MAC CSA1700 ($539) complete auto cooling system tester while being frustrated over the lack of adequate testers/adapters I've acquired over the years, I purchased the Stanley Proto JFF1700 complete auto cooling system tester set. This is the OEM for the MAC CSA1700. While cheaper, but still expensive. I got it for $415 shipped but have seen them as high as $800 on the net...:shocking:
It is made in USA, not by Johnny Cheng in some Chinese commie sweat shop where he is beaten daily for not meeting his production quota...

The 23 piece set is well made, adapters and pump feel like they can survive a rough shop environment. The materials, both metal and plastic are highly finished with no burs or casting/trim edges. The protective rubber boot on the pump gage is a nice addition which does not appear on earlier models of either Mac tools or this sets pictures on the net

Highly recommend this if you got the coin and need a complete professional set. This set was shipped directly to me from Proto and had a build date of Feb 2014.

Heat shrink and soldering. I just hate extension cords so this gets around them.

They make cordless soldering irons and butane powered ones too. I usually use a lighter for heat shrink and that's almost too hot for it, wouldn't the torch be way too hot for heat shrink? Depending on the size I guess

This is what I use, and I like it so much I got rid of (lost) my desktop, plug-in model and I'm fine with it. It's held up perfectly for 11 years, and still works like the day I bought it. It solders better, and so conveniently - and it does heat shrink so much nicer than a lighter, without charring it and you can really control the shrinking sensations. Never even bought new tips or anything, just butanes:

EBay purchase. I couldn't decide between a comfort grip and hard handle I think I made the right choice.

No, this one has a few different tips (Soldering, pencil flame, etc..) and you use the soldering attachment without a tip in it for just heating (No flame). Same idea as a heat gun.

Got some Wera hex bit to square drive bad-boys today in 1/4" and 1/2". The 1/2" replaced this huge stack of generic chrome vanadium adapters for the impact. :rocker:

(I didn't like the dual-anvil on the other Bosch, with the 1/4" hex inside the larger snout of it's 1/2" anvil and huge, longer, rudolf red nose snout release ring.)

 great avatar

no camera at the moment, got a Craftsman sandblaster for $29, open box but the contents were untouched, and a set of Gearwrench non ratcheting stubby wrenches up to 15/16 to help with some stubborn oil lines inside a tractor crankcase.

I'm sorry, but a 1/4" bit on a 1/2'" impact? Why would you need that, to destroy everything in it's path? Other than that, it looks like a quality piece.

My most recent purchases. VIM Triple square set. 3/8" Matco ADV swivel sockets. I should have just got the gray pneumatic swivel sockets but at least Matco can warranty these easier.

Who makes that oil-filter-socket set? They look gold, are they gold?! They look nice and blingy. I need some, but I want a good set, and I wouldn't mind if they were golden goose sockets.

Unfortunately they are chinese and silver. It looks like they will hold up great for oil filters and be easy to wipe off. It is OEM 27197 oil filter socket set. I bought it from Amazon.
