It's for removing snapped off or rounded off bolts and nuts. They bite in great and can pull just about anything out. The pin is for knocking out the bolt after the socket bites in.

I didn't know if they were the same re-brand as the rethreading kits. What i mean is the same snap on rethreading kit is identical to the craftsman one. Both are made by lang/kastar

Is this craftsman kit you got made by another company or identical to the snap on one

Are you talking about the rethreading kits or the rounded bolt head socket extractor kit?
I know the rethreading kits are but I'm not sure about the rounded bolt socket set

Lang/Kastar makes the rethreading kit

Irwin makes the bolt-out kits I believe.

Pawn shop. Snap-On 3/8" impact driver set (the 8 piece set that includes the PIT120 driver), in rather nice condition, missing the #2 Pozidriv bit but with an extra #4 Phillips, $50!

And just a few days after I was bitching about the #3 Phillips in my Lisle set turning into a soft-serve cone... problem solved! Had to order the Pozidriv though even though I'll never use it as I hate having incomplete tool sets...

Do want to warn you that I did have trouble with the hf puller set. I bought it and the first time I used it to pull the crank pulley on a 3400 v6......the threads on the yoke stripped out. Returned it for another and he same thing occurred

Got the snap on set used on ebay for 80 bux n never looked back

I'll keep that in mind. A coworker has the same set up I've got. His yoke stripped out after about a dozen uses. He ordered just the yoke from SO and so far so good. All other pieces including the jack screw have held up beyond expectation.

You can order empty cases for many SO products. You just need to know the part number for the case by itself. Some case part numbers can be found in the catalog as part of the overall product description, and some can be found online in product descriptions.

The 29CF (9.5") barely has enough for anything over 14 gauge. Nice otherwise, and much nicer than the all in one combos like he has pictured. I like mine, only pair of snap-on pliers I own. I would change a few things I guess but overall they do work well. I'd like to see somebody make a higher leverage crimper. I was kind of hoping Knipex or somebody would. .

Here is a picture of my kleins. I haven't used them much but these things crimp down hard and it's super easy. So much leverage. I use a separate unit for stripping

Any chance you could post up the numbers for the Large and Small hose pinch pliers? Need them for the "Tool Truck Equivalents 2.0" thread since Sears only lists the middle sized one separately.

You'll love those pinch pliers, I used my old coworker's Blue Point branded ones and they were great.

I think Craftsman only sells the 3pc set and the 9" Pliers.

They're sold under a few different brands (Made by KD):

Got this off amazon for $150 shipped which is pretty good for canada. Tool truck has it for $200 plus tax. Can't wait to try it out properly!

After quick clean up. I gave the extra #4 bit to the guy that spotted it 'cause I snatched it when he didn't seem interested in buying.

Hah, yeah, the funny thing is that I had a cheap impact that I'd bought at some parts store or other for 15 years or so. Unfortunately was handed a Snap-On one when I needed one at my friend's shop and I didn't have mine there, and I said "oh, this one is... better." Because it was, the ramps on the driver were butter smooth compared to my cheap one, so it just did a better job.

So I asked the shop foreman to get me one from the SO guy, well he sold him a Lisle one instead and said it was "just as good" well the driver is really nice feeling, but the bits lasted a couple weeks with me as opposed to 15 years with my $9 parts store set...!

I'm hoping the SO set will last me the rest of my life, with maybe only a couple bit replacements, since I only play at being a pro when someone is sick or the shop is otherwise short handed.

I dont know what it was but the older bits lasted, the newer ones twist or shatter every week or two Snap-On branded or not. I keep two spare always. At $10 a pop its kind of pathetic; though at least they're good about replacing them ("warranty").
