Just wondering, you have steady reliable access to a Cornwell truck? The reason I ask is that in most parts of the country, a Cornwell truck is like a unicorn, heard of but never seen and most never invest in that brand because of it.

I'm not disappointed for the price. Honestly seems like it will do the job when called upon for this price. Bonus is that if I should need the warranty the replacement is the same COO. I'm thinking the metal selector switch is an upgrade from plastic!

Got this little mini ratchet from an Ace that was becoming an ACO, all the tools were 50% off, but the tools had been pretty well picked over by the time I got there.

The tekton version of this ratchet was priced at $12
I look on the bottom shelf, and these identical little ratchets sell for $8.50

just got it to keep in the craftsman tool kit in my truck which normally has to use the reducer on a 3/8 ratchet to use the included 1/4 sockets

Yeah, the head seems to sit in the 45 degree positions pretty strongly. Not as strong as my Cornwell, but that's all I have to compare it to. The price wasn't bad. Time will tell if the Chinese version is just as comparable as your USA one.

i work on commercial trucks with it and its never given me one problem. but i have broken a snap-on so anything is possible lol

with that said its the only cman ratchet i use

Hi guys, long time lurker, first time poster here. Great site here....

I've been hearing (and seeing) about the Wright 3/8 ratchet in a 1/4 body so I decided to pick one up for myself today. There is a tool store here in the Twin Cities that carries Wright hand tools on their shelves, it's called Acme Tools. I was headed there today anyway to pick up a new 18 volt Fuel Milwaukee Sawzall (which included an additional free battery) so I thought I would see if they had that little ratchet.... They had 2 in stock. They also had the same ratchet, but with a flex head. I've never seen that one posted on this site yet so I figured I would get a picture of it:

I also pick up this set a few days ago from Menards. It's their Mastercraft line of American made tools. It was 50% off this week, only $39.99. Last time this set was 39 bucks was the week before Christmas. I bought a set then too. lol

I already have one full set of Hansen socket trays filled with USA Craftsman sockets with the missing pegs filled in with SK sockets. I figured I would fill another complete set of trays with Mastercraft sockets so these will give me a decent start.

I am placing an online order later tonight, I'll post more when I receive that stuff.

When a cars battery is disconnected it wipes the Non-volatile RAM in the computer and the radio station presets. This keeps power to those to prevent that from happening.

Very interested in this tool. Looks fairly sturdy and beefy for an oil filter wrench. Good thing. Thinking of a repurpose idea for it if it works like I hope it might. Can be simply modified as well but good starting point it looks like in the picture. Would be appreciated if you could share any additional info you have on this tool please, if you have any? Part number? Are the arms loose or fixed and only rotate if turned with the center drive? I assume it tightens both directions? Maybe not ment to but it lookes like it does?

Thanks either way, and reason whay I ask. Any other machinist like myself see a chuck spider for boring soft jaws using this tool? I see it working if it's studry. You don't want/need to clamp the heck of of a chuck to turn or bore it. It ALWAYS depends on the job but. Most boring of jaws is fairly light to moderate chuck pressure just like on the part, and you should always bore your jaws just like you're holding your parts. It might seem to some, kind of big for the task but having different ranges of chuck jaw boring devices is always a good thing. A man can NEVER, have too many tools, and repurposing is always fun.

also i know on honda's, and i'm sure other makes, the radio codes, gps codes, and security system maybe? i'm not sure, but without that, or the codes you won't be able to use your radio until you get them etc. working in a small shop we used to just keep the car running while we pulled the battery, same idea i guess

Yeah, it is pretty nice to be able to walk in and buy some of this stuff without having to order online. They didn't have everything I wanted so I did place an Amazon order tonight. I asked the guy if they sold a lot of Wright products and he said yes. He said they were once an SK dealer but at one point they had a hard time getting product from them.... Once they found Wright Tools, they made the switch and everyone has been pretty happy with them.

The stahlwille is a 3/8 dr with ratchet mechanism! The harder you tighten the tool, the harder it squeeze your filter! In both ways! I am on my work now, but i can get you some more info tonight!
