Lord, I'm really digging it, and it's my first Armstrong tool. Digging it so much that I'm definitely picking up the 3/8 and 1/2! Mike

I bought the 1/4 and 3/8's, as i don't use 1/2 much. These have to be the best bang for buck USA ratchets out there.

Apex is out of 88 tooth repair kits to upgrade from 60 tooth, so i guess we'll have to wait on those.

These are the 1/4 and 3/8's 88T repair kit P/N's

I didn't know they made them just for torque. Wish they would fit both 1/4" and 3/8" Bits. Edit: Had to go look and they do have both sizes on one rail. I gotta get one!

yeah, wish they had a longer one, 1/4, 3/8 and 1/2 for all my hex etc, my recommendation would be to get 2 if you have ALOT of bits..mines full and i don't have that much, it comes with 14x1/4 holders and 14x3/8 i think

And if you don't want to wait for APEX to get the kits back in stock (I waited for like six months) you can buy the Matco 88 repair kits and swap them in.

Matco part numbers

1/4"-AFR8TK
3/8"-BFR8TK
1/2"-CFR8TK

I got kits from GJ members MatcoDave and jethro29.

You're welcome, if I remember right I payed a little more for the Matco kits but I was tired of waiting on APEX.

Just a head up though, the reversing levers are different in the Matco Kits but you can use either the Armstrong or Matco. I personally like the Armstrong ones better and left them in.

I have the Matco BFR12LFT 3/8 Locking Head. I would like to get a repair kit for it. It still works great but the reverse lever is chewed up a bit. I would also like to get the 1/2 in one. I figured but wasn't certain, the Armstrong ones are the exact same thing?

No, Armstrong does not make a 1/2" 88 tooth ratchet. You will have to get the 1/2" 88 tooth repair kit from Matco.

The only difference I could find between the 1/4" and 3/8" Armstrong kit and Matco kit is the reversing lever is cosmetically different but functionally the same. Other than I believe they are the same, I bought Matco kits because I couldn't find any of the Armstrong 88 kits.

If you do happen to find someone online that stocks the Armstrong kits make sure they are 88 tooth, (I ordered a 1/4" repair kit that I thought would be 88 tooth and it was only 60 tooth) I believe Armstrong used the same number for the original 60 tooth kits before they stopped offering them. Now they only offer the 88 tooth kits with the same number (at least that's the way it is on their website).

After GJ convinced me a 1/4" impact driver is a useful tool, I bought a 1/4" 12v Fuel Milwaukee kit from CPO when they were offering a great deal with extra batteries. It turned out to be a killer tool.

Last Friday I was up late and just happened to open CL, saw a 1/2" 18v Fuel impact driver/hammer drill kit for 275.00, turned out to be new but missing one belt clip but I can live with that :D

All I want now is a 1/2" impact wrench.

Found a Craftsman (Covel) power hacksaw recently. It is complete and only needed minor fine tuning to make it saw like a champ. The previous owner made that drip pan, which is a rather neat feature on its own.

Only two complaints as it is... no wheels and it sits too low. Both will be remedied shortly.

I had one of these before, but foolishly sold it, due to cramped shop space at my previous location. Not going to happen again!

You can also find the manual over at OWWM, if anyone needs it.
I have a Sawmaster power hacksaw! They may be outdated but they sure are fun to use. I wish mine had a drip tray/cart.

Cool a Mac rebranded relay buddy! I did a review on one of those! :)

The ES 190 relay buddy....

Yep, alot of the equipment here I work on has panels with 20 or so relays on them. Makes testing them quick and easy. I'm thinking about warrantying it out since the relays are hard to get in, have to wiggle them around. Meh.

Got some Wilde pliers to go with a few other pairs I have. Also got a small set of standard Wright wrenches....thought I was getting Wright Grips....but they aren't. Still have less than $20 in them though so no big loss.

Thanks for that. Was not familiar with the Saw Master, had to look it up. It is a very similar design, almost as though somebody was looking over another's fence.

If you haven't already found it, there is a link here to the S/M's manual. I copied it as there is much operating info there that applies to other PHS's of that era.
