I've got two of the infamous 44" boxes, but needed some more storage. I really wanted just the 26" roller cabinet, but they don't sell them separately. I don't like top boxes, and I don't have room for a side box, so I set out for a service cart. I wasn't impressed at all with the HF service cart, so I opted out. I then noticed a 26" roller cabinet at the end of the aisle still in the cardboard box with an "open box" sticker on it for $200. I found the manager and asked him if it came with the upper box and he said no, but he would mark the bottom box down to $170! Nothing was wrong with it, but the top box got damaged beyond use in shipping. In the end, I got the box I wanted without having to buy the combo and deal with selling the top.

Just curious, why not impressed with the 5 drawer service cart? Just not the right configuration for you?

I have been on the lookout for a compressor capable of operation my **** Blast cabinet for awhile. I really didn't want to spend the money (retiree budget) to upgrade my detached garage electric to handle a 5 hp compressor and then buy a 5 hp compressor just for an occasional bead blast. Currently I keep the cabinet at my son's house as his compressor can run it. I looked at a couple of Emglo/Jenny wheelbarrow units with the "G" or "GT" pump that are favorites in the duct cleaning business. Most seem to have spent their lives outdoors in the back of a pickup or have received no maintenance from non tool enthusiast HVAC guys. I finally ran across one on Craigslist that was in great shape and got it for half the price of the abused ones.

It is an awesome machine putting out 15.7 cfm @ 100 psi and 15.4 cfm @ 175 psi. The pressure gauge spins up faster than a tachometer on a motorcycle! OK, OK, thats because it has an 8 gal tank but it is still a nice unit. Being portable I can take it anywhere.

1800 rpm. That's nice for sharpening stuff because it puts less heat in the workpiece. Looks like it's all there and has some sort of rudimentary stand. I'd probably end up owning it for $200.

Also, the 1800 RPM models are much more expensive than the high speed. I'd give $200 for it in a heartbeat.

I didn't like the drawer configuration and my pry bars wouldn't have fit with the lid closed. It also seems kind of flimsy compared to their cabinets. I also don't like the drawer locks. I had something similar on a snap on box and they drove me nuts.

Gtamatt that little vise is great! I have used and abused it for the last year with no problems at all. Plus it was only like 19$ when I got it!:)

I hqve one and it very nice, Well it's only 5 drawers for one. And there is storage at the bottom but I would rather have it be drawers. It's very good for what it does. But it works best when other boxes are.supplemented with it. I use my cart as sort of a current project roll around station.

Yeah, I paid like $20.06 for it. Counterproductive to walk to the workbench for something small. Seems like a decent piece.

And that is what it is supposed to be. I work in an industrial environment and mine rolls around my 150 k Sq ft factory with me. I have a side cab on it and keep shop rags, kneepads, small step ladder, air hose, extension cord, my "fittings" box etc with it. Works great for that and I have everything I need in it and then also have back ups of a lot of things back in the shop too so I can work on a project that I need to fab up quickly while my 5 drawer stays at the work area.

My 5 drawer and side cab.

My other box with roller cart I built myself.

Looks just like my vintage KD, and it's a useful tool.
Saw a buddy have one of these at work I asked him where he got his and he said the matco truck. I looked at sears and for 8 bucks you can't beat it. I have a feeling the matco one is re branded as well. Possibly the craftsman too.

Damn near stole another set of my favorites to put away.

I've had that set for over 5 years now and they have never let me down. It's almost time to buy a metric set and I can't decide between finding a craftsma pro USA set or buying an sk set.

1/4 SK socket set, this is the one with all the reducers and adapters, swivel etc. I gave the thumbwheel away, I would never use it.
But jeez, I cant say enough about this. It was a great value, It was on sale (SK day) for about $175 shipped which is a steal for 1/4in deep and shallow + metric SAE sizes. Also the case is very compact.
Only bad thing, and really bad, as in Its not even useable if your hands are the slightest bit oily, is the ratchet. The dial is such a pita. I much prefer a thumb switch lever.

Enco had another 20% off sale last Wednesday so I decided to finally order the two pin gauge sets that I have been eyeing. With the 20% off coupon code it was like purchasing the .251"-.500" set and getting the .061"-.250" set free.

Mike.

Here is the two sets along with a set of corner radius end mills that I ordered.

Both sets opened up and fully displayed. For an import set they appear to be very nice and accurate. I randomly grabbed several and mic'd them out of curiosity.

A new to me drill chuck on a 3MT shank installed in a NMTB 50 to 3MT adapter..

The drill chuck goes from 3/16 closed to 3/4 fully open.

Adapter is probably USA, Chuck is Japan supposedly. 3MT to Jacobs taper shank inside (not really visible) is Made In England.

Adapter was $35 and chuck with jacobs taper was $50, so a good deal overall.

A big old USA mill (Van Norman 22 LU in this case) can be more economical to tool up than a Bridgeport style since few people know what they are or want them.

Not very many people have those wrenches probably, very rare. Especially high dollar snappy.

Agreed. I looked at them many, many years ago but too rich for my blood. I ended up buying the Matco set from 3/8"-1" and then a couple of Proto in the larger sizes that I needed.

A co-worker of mine found a used set of Snap-On angle wrenches about fifteen years ago for $150.00. I don't think the person knew what they had. The full set he bought was 3/8" thru 1-1/2". Then he had the balls to come to work and brag about it.:lol_hitti

That looks like the same set. $135 with free shipping.
