LordDiesel, you changed your avatar.

I'll be posting more pics in my other thread.

It's kind of an interesting vise, some parts are welded some are 90,000 PSI casting.

I sought out a smaller yet strong vise, and I think I found what I was looking for.

Priced right too.

Timmy,

I saw the vise on Amazon, but wanted to use up my HD gift card.

I didn't see the jaw caps - gonna need those!

Thanks

Found this in a corner at work under a broken lathe.

I asked my boss about it, quickly throwing in a decent offer to secure, I'd been looking for something to put above my workbench for ages. A rewire will be needed but it's ideal.

How are those? I have been eyeballing the MAC set but the EZ Red price seems a bit nicer.

They are ****. I bought them as well last week and was hoping they were made in Taiwan and nope, China made ****. Ton of side to side play, poor finish, weak grip. I returned to Amazon asap.

My Dremel finally let its smoke out after many years of service so I figured it was time to go cordless.

ImageUploadedByTapatalk1422136979.662950.jpg my new Stahlwille openbox 14 long series combo wrench set! From left: Openbox 14 6-22mm, middle: Openbox 13 6-19mm and the last is also openbox 13 up to 24mm! It was pretty hard to cut the foam inlay for the longer ones on the left! Very very tight on space for 17 wrenches!

Home Depot has a pair of these for $9.99 in black grips. Probably the same thing but hey, it's $10.

Since the last handplane was brand new, I figured I'd balance it out with an old one.

100+ year old Stanley #8. It's a monster of a plane. It will need restored, however.

It's in the back, to give you an idea of size compared to all the others I own

Finally Scored the Armstrong version of the Easco/Craftsman RHFT in 3/8"

I have been looking for this ratchet for about two years! The same part # is still available new, but they completely changed the style to the crappy mechanism used in current CM round ratchets (no thumbwheel, quick release and half the tooth count-40)

I have the new style, I really like it but people seem obsessed with those old RHFT versions for some reason

That is one fine ratchet.

Is that the set made in Taiwan ?
I was thinking about getting it next time I have a 25% and some surplus cash to burn.

yes... just one thing to note... the handle on mine will not tighten enough to keep the bits from slipping but using the extension worked (extension will go all the way down into the handle)

asked someone i know who bought the same set and he has had no issues with the bits slipping

I saw the VDE set, which I'll grab next time but could not find the VDE drivers in the tool section. I'll have another look next week. I was surprised to see them in there, almost tempted to buy some spares!
