I bought a Buxton Engineering on head valve spring compressor. It's really designed to change springs while the head is on the car, but I tried it while I had the heads off and this thing works GREAT! I have several tools from Buxton and each one is top quality.

Mostly made in china but quality seems alright.
Set me back a little, but well worth it.

Channel Lock 442 12 inch V Jaw, 426 6.5 inch, on sale at Menards and 960 Locknut Pliers from Lowe's. 2 pair of Vice Grip 11SP clamps on Clearance at Menards and Dewalt cleanable nut drivers from Lowe's. The nut drivers are pretty neat and save hassle working in a welding shop with metal dust getting in anything magnetic.

My dad use to have a yellow Ideal side cutter but I sold it. Saw an ad, 3 ideal pliers for $15, knew they were made in USA, got there and the guy threw in the screwdrivers, didn't even really want them

The valve spring compressor on the previous page looks like a REALLY nice piece! I'm not familiar with Buxton Engineering so I looked them up. They're products look top notch.

My parents mailed a box of birthday presents for my children and my Dad slipped in this little gem he picked up at a yardsale. He knows how much I love old American tools :)

I've never heard of Volume brand so I'm pretty excited to add it to my collection.

That has to be the best version of the HF cart I've seen.:rocker:

I thought by now I would have seen a green one with one of those hot selling SK emblems from Epstein's SK daze attached to it.

I have to confess... I just photoshopped the Hazet sticker on. :D

I could order one for it I suppose.

Just picked up the Pittsburgh Pro long handle flex ratchet. I've been wanting a longer handle 3/8. I got a new 1/2 torque wrench as a gift, but I already had one so I took it back and paid the difference. So for $3.23 it came home with me. Also got a pair of 8' halogen lights for free from my church. They are remodeling one of their properties and had to completely get rid of their light fixtures and I was helping demo the interior so they gave them to me before they junked them. Thought about grabbing a few more, but I didn't want to be greedy and I already have 4 sets of 4' lights in my garage.

*PS not sure why my pics loaded sideways*

How do you like the ratchet? I have the long 1/2" drive one and have been very happy with it. I need to tighten the flex joint up some to make it flop around less.. but you can't beat it for the price

Are those flip sockets worth the price? I'm considering getting some. I know the Harbor Freight only have a 90 day warranty, so I wonder if they aren't the best long term choice?

I have a Matco set that has held up well. Have had them about 3 years and only broke one. Lifetime warranty though.

I just sold my flip sockets. I used em for a long time on wheels but after I got an actual set of deep 1/2" drive sockets I barely used em

See, that's what I'm thinking. For $15, it could be a nice beater set though?
