1/4" tech wrench from eBay. Was contemplating the new style but for the amount I've had to borrow a 1/4 torque wrench vs the price of a new one, this'll do just fine. The price didn't hurt matters either :D

only actual features the atech has over the regular ones is angle...which, at least for chrysler stuff anyway, is only on stuff like rod bolts and head bolts...that you'd want to use 1/2 inch drive on anyway

Picked up some stuff from the Kmart craftsman clearance stuff. Paid less than the stickers show. Then stopped by ace and picked up the channellocks. Wanted something a bit bigger for some added persuasion... All told it was about $65 not too shabby for all USA stuff.

Thanks guys..I think I'll order these tonight..since i also priced a standard matco 3/8 ratchet with grip handle and it was $107.00. no Thanks.. I mean I have a ton of snap on stuff but 100 bucks just to see if I like something and no matco guy here to replace it if it breaks..yeah

Well, thats Matco for ya. They rebrand literally thing (Aside from their flagship tool boxes) and sell it with a fat up charge. I hate it when the Matco guy is trying to sell me something when I know its made by Lisle, OTC, etc.... Not knocking the dealer, but its a pretty lazy thing to do. Especially when they want Snap On prices for overseas made tools. Im not against Taiwan made tools, but Im not paying tool truck prices for it.

snappy does the same thing...although not as crazy as matco does...most things that are not snap on are either branded blue point or are sold by their actual brand...

my old snappy guy would show me the "supplemental" snap on catalog, which has everything they sell that ain't either snappy or blue point...he called it the matco catalog...which it is haha

either way, one plus to buying off the truck is the warranty...but, if you got a guy who only shows up every other month, i guess that ain't worth a **** either

I agree..when I learned it was all basically Armstrong and gearwrench (I think) I got turned off. And mac it just Stanley, black and Decker , and dewalt (maybe).. a simple Google search will confirm which tool companies are all owned by a single company...

Yeah snap on is a little better with that. I mean I bought a nice Williams 3/4 set which is basically snap on for $230 off eBay and the same set in snap on brand is well over $1,300

LORDDiESEL,

It better cut perfect, or I'll be pissed!
Dang near cleared my tool buying funds for the next year.

Strouty,

It only miters one way.

I could have bought a bigger saw for the money, but I don't have room for a bigger saw.

It's only 37 lbs. so it will easily go to a job site if needed.

Small and accurate was what I was looking for.

A full write-up will be posted after I've had a chance to work with it awhile.

I actually considered the Grizzly.

Just a little bigger than what I wanted.

170 lbs gets kinda hard to load into the truck by myself.

I have gotta stay out of the snapon truck.
But I got this for 256.00 , reg price is 420.00
Plus the four "free" tools worth at reg. price @130.00.
The knife was returned by someone else to get a new blade and he skipped town snap on.
So when the knife came back snap on sold it to me for 50.00. Half price not bad.

I don't know why people think they need a flex head that locks?
You have used breaker bars before right? .....they don't lock
Especially with something that long...whatever angle u hold it at is what angle ur gonna be at. I personally have owned the snap on locking ratchet and I sold it. Before I sold it I would never lock it anywY just because I found it useless. I don't own a single locking ratchet anymore and I wouldn't have it any other way.

I guess some people think if it doesn't lock that your gonna be flopping all over the place and as ur loosening something the handle is gonna pivot and ur hand is gonna go slamming into the side of the vehicle or something. ......it is complete opposite of this

I find locking just happens to get it the way in ur rotation if u have to move it some to go around an obstacle.
To each his own but I'm sure most people that have used both will chime in and say that they prefer non locking. Plus it's just one extra addition to the ratchet to create a weak point.

x100. Had the big 1/2 for a year or so and would cry if it went missing. Just got the 3/8 and love it the same. Locking creates more problems than it could ever solve.
I do a lot of alignments and brake jobs. Chevy trucks and suv rear disc caliper bracket bolts are super tight and locktite all the way off. I need an arc in my swing on those and on caster/camber adjustments going around the tire and such. I have had it almost parallel to the bolt and hit it with a hammer to get a bolt to move.

With a locking flex any movement in a direction that is not taking the bolt off is movement at the socket head/bolt. Thus requiring one hand on the handle and one on the head to hold it on. With a non locking flex you are allowed "torque shake" with 2 hands on the handle and the socket is not moving around on the bolt.

Plus once you get it loose you can go parallel and it becomes a decent speed handle.

Owned one locking, got rid of it and will never have another.
