love those old wiltons

Strouty, which cordless impacts are at the top of the game right now?

My Milwaukee impacts have been awesome. I sold my Snap-On ones to get them and am very happy with that decision

The 2654 is a 3/8" drive and has around 200 ft*lbs. Takes lug nuts off fine for me and is pretty small.

The 2763 is a 1/2" drive and is around 700 ft*lbs. They claim something like 1100 ft*lbs of "nut busting" torque. I'm not sure if that's just what it'll do in reverse or if there's some other meaning

I would recommend the rubber boots for them as well. With that, the only places that take any wear from being drug around are the boot and the batteries

Mine have been awesome. The 2654 is def. my favorite. 2763 is heavy and overkill most stuff, but it just depends on what you're working on.

something between 36-42 inches :bounce:

Best answer ever!

We are a machine shop that does oilfield repairs, mostly blowout preventers. The outside mics are for the pistons inside annular type blowout preventers. I don't have a pic handy of a piston, but here's a body being sub arc welded. This bore is around 38" diameter so the new mic would be to measure the piston inside this.

Then machine in the Cincinnati with a 10 foot chuck.

What kind of tolerances do you have to machine to?

It depends of course, but the larger parts like that body I pictured have a .004 range. The part I'm on today is **.501-.505

Some of the smaller stuff is much tighter though

have the ratchet sitting in an ATF soak right now... selector barely budges and only goes from not moving either direction to freely moving in both directions and i can't even get the retaining ring to squeeze in enough to remove the guts

Are they both reversing on the ratcheting end? I'm pretty sure te mountains are but I didn know about the matco. I'm torn between getting a set of the double box non racheting 0 offset or the kin like your matco.

If mountain offered those like the gearwrench ones…….I would be interested for sure. I would like to have the reversing feature. I don't like the lack of a nice non ratcheting box end. I like to have options, I currently have the older gearwrench with no flex and like them a lot. I just have been craving the flex ends.

Strouty, I got both MM and SAE shipped from Tool DIscounter for $357ish. I thought that was a lot of bang for the buck.

Now I am putting my like new EZ Red MM set up for sale.

How long did it take to get the tools, some reviews said it took weeks to get the tools. I think that is a great price for sure.

Latest arrivals from Zoro. Unfortunately the hinge on the hub grappler case was broken during shipping.

warrantied sockets and a wrench from canadian tire, the sockets were so deformed and loose, I had these mastercraft cr-mo impact socket for 10 years + and they just gave me new ones no questions asked. The wrench is a Mastercraft Maximum, had some print defects on it, I could t read the 15/16 on it, I was too lazy to go just that one wrench so I waited till I had enough to worth the trip.

Mr.Jason & ChrisLS8 thanks for the heads up on the X2's. Yes they worked decent for me as well. Nice to know they aren't throw a ways. The Husky's are decent too. I was surprised but time will tell.

I had to get a 100 tooth roto so the snap-on guy made me a deal for some 3/8 deep 6 points and the FHNF100. I love this ratchet.

Local indy guy. Otherwise I'd go tooltopia. And no, the matcos are not reversible. They are spline drive on the non ratcheting end too, despite what the literature says.

Stopped by Home Depot looking for a pair of needle nose and slip joint pliers. The 8" Channellock needle nose were $16 and they didn't even have the slip joint sold individually so ended up with this for $42.

Nice set.
Anyone who is able to use a HF % off coupon at their local HD should be getting that set without hesitation.
