Small engine shop has a Sharpertek, I think its about 4 or 5 years old now. Still working great. The heater coils finally died though, I was the only one who'd shut it off once it got up to temp, the rest would let it get to a near boil so not surprising it finally broke.

Their shellac buster is good stuff. Cleans varnish and carbon deposits really well. Also seems to be fairly safe for rubber and plastics. Does a job on anodizing and paint though.

Dude, your new Proto box has to be about ready to burst! You're always posting sweet stuff, you need to post pictures of your whole collection.

It is... There's pictures in the toolbox thread a page back or so, minus a drawer or two that look like a war zone or just have cases so I didn't take pictures  A lot of tools have actually come home or ended up in the truck for a lack of space.

Ruger,

More info on the proto hammer please. Mike

Hmm, it's red? http://www.protoindustrial.com/en/i...z.-Ball-Pein-Hammer---Industrial-Wood-Handle/

It is actually balanced a lot better than the antivibe hammers :dunno:

These are from this week. Some were from my zoro order, some from ebay, some from the snap on driver, the grinder was from Australia and the tape measures were $25 for both at home depot.

I couldn't decide which set I liked better so as a ***** who likes shiny things, I bought both. Apparently I forgot to take a picture of the mountains so its a stock picture.

I sure hope you find the Platinum's a premo deal cause I just bought both sets from Topia. I have a really hard time swallowing Matco's pricing when they appear to be identical units.

Also does anyone know if there is any difference between the Platinum and GW units, once again they appear to be identical. Thanks guys.

That's nice, who produces those? Proto themselves or another rebrand?

Don't know, I kinda doubt Proto makes it but I don't really care either (I think people take the whole who makes what thing a little too far around here). Made in the USA and not unreasonably priced. I just bought it because I can tell it's mine from across the shop

It wast just a curiosity question. I too like the red, only other I knew that made red head hammers was the old channellocks.

I really like those Proto hammers!

Uncle Sam used to give us 6 of them in different sizes in the rotorcraft sheet metal "squad boxes" - back then I always figured they painted em like that for high visibility / FOD reasons.

I prefer plain jane wood/unfinished metal, and i got after both the set in my box and the set by the anvil with the wire wheel and then wiped down all the handles in some leftover BLO.

That was almost 10 years ago, and they are still my favorites.

Truck day on my birthday! So I bought some needed green picks and the
1/4" adaptor for the ratcheting screwdiver.
Could help my self but bought a 5/8" & 13/16" mag spark plug sockets. They will be going to work this weekend.
