I picked this KD socket sitting on the Lisle too case to change the plugs in my F150. It has a 3" extention that swivels and permamently attached.

In order to make the job easier, I picked up the work platform from Rural King. It was on sale and rated at 225 lbs. I truly believe that is a true weight limit.
Those steps work fine if you are nice to them. We use them at work. I paint heavy trucks so I climb up and down a lot. W generally destroy about one a week.

Considering hex fasteners don't take to much torque, I bet they'll hold up quite nice!

I still have a Torx socket set, made by Autocraft that has held up for 6 years, even used an impact on them for taking off seat belts.
I replace more Torx bits than any other bit or socket in my tool box. Mostly from ford bed bolts.

Just last week I had to warranty 2 snappy's and a Mac.

I broke one on a ratchet and 2 with an impact.

GAWD, I swear Torx was invented as a scam for making people have to constantly buy the damn stuff periodically. I have had to replace them more than any other socket/bits. The larger sizes ones are generally better even tho they slowly wear out as the edges starts to round out. The smaller ones however sometimes even gets deformed on the first use if you aren't careful. But after a month or two of moderate use, even if you baby the **** out of them, they will look worn and starts to deform. I dont seee 6pts or 12pts sockets as fragile as that...

I believe they were designed as a solution to stripped heads. The bits are designed soft so that they will be the weak link over the bolt itself. I have no problem with having to replace them often, over drilling out/cutting out old bolts. That is why I buy lifetime tools though. Gotta keep my Mac and Snappy guy busy.

Oh I know, they are designed to cam out so you don't over tighten fragile components like the glass nylon infused polymer aka plastic intake manifolds on M54s and other BMW motors. However in my experience they don't work out like that. The damn things still end up stripping the torx bolts to where end up having to drillout/cut off the damaged bolt anyways. Maybe it is just BMW or German manufactors but the Torx bolts/nuts are still as soft the tool bit and they both get mangled. I suppose it is more preferable to cracking the manifold or whatever if somebody goes ******* on it. Another phenomenon is you tighten up the fastner a little too much and when you go to loosen it.. That's when the fastner or tool strips and you can't take the damn thing off. (Don't) Ask me how I know lol.

Matco guy came today, had 3 or 4 Armstrong 1/2" drive flex heads laying on the floor. I picked one up and asked what he was doing with them. He gives this disgusted look and says "you want that dang thing? 50 bucks its yours." Apparently he had made a mistake on an order and wound up with them. After he left I googled the price, P/N 12-994, over $100 on tool topia and amazon... I should have bought them all from him :/

Lucky, that's a decent come up. I like Armstrong ratchets, their sockets... Not so much

As many tools as you have I would think you would almost be finished with buying tools, wishful thinking huh?

No kidding. That's the last one in the collection I want but it's somewhere around $100 from Harry Epsteins and I don't need it that bad.

They're the same ratchets as the Matcos but with a few less teeth. Still has like 60 teeth and are hands down my favorite ratchets. I use the 3/8" locking flex more than any other ratchet. The 1/4" gets a lot of use too.

Askme42, How long did it take for you to get it?

Actual delivery? 4 days.

I say finally because I've been eyeing it for quite some time but just couldn't pull the trigger.

Hot deal plus shop your way points brought it under $30 so I couldn't resist.

I bought the gold SnapOns that everyone raves about a year ago. Haven't used them much, but I got some deformation on the T25 removing some half shafts with a ratchet. They probably took somewhere around 100 ft-lbs to remove considering the locking compound on the threads, but I kind of felt the bit should have been harder.

They did the job though, and I definitely believe they held up better than any other brand I've used. Since I'm not a pro who's on the clock, I'd probably just buy the HF set next time since they are easier for me to warranty since my store doesn't ask for a receipt or anything. The once in a great while that a socket head strips on me, it's easy enough to weld a nut to it or use an EZ Out since you already have a good pilot hole. I think my $100+ dollars for the torx set would have been better served towards some snap on flare nut wrenches or something I use more.

Not technically a new tool, but I do have a rebuild kit on the way for my old snapon ratchet. This ratchet is 30 years older than I am, and snapon canada didn't ask a single question. Best service I have ever seen

you can never have too many tools

Ah ok, I just ordered mine today. I too was just looking, decided to buy it, then it went out of stock. Saw this morning they had it. I paid $31 shipped w/tax, it's a great deal.

From HJE: Wilde pull scraper $6 and Milton air chuck $5.

The Wilde handles are the hard handle equivalent of the SO instinct. I might have to invest in some screwdrivers.

I should have bought one a while back when one of the big box stores had them on a black Friday sale. This "Tool Shed" brand is quite the light duty version.

They seem to pop up on sale a lot at granger and northern tool. I have a really nice Matco #600 one. The difference is amazing. Of course you can buy 4 or 5 light duty steps for the same price. But if they don't hold up the matco will pay for itself.

Soft Instincts in red & orange. I've decided I want to have an eclectic looking bunch, driver is looking for a yellow set of the cabinet screwdrivers.
Should fit into my tie-dyed life theme nearly perfectly.

New snips for tin work.

Picked up this snap on flat file set. Also found out my dealer had two black hard handles in stock so I bought them and ordered a few more and made my own file handles.
