Finally picked up a stubby 3/8" ratchet today, as well as two 1/2" drive sockets to fill out the home box, and some Knipex duck bills.

I was running a new propane line to my bbq and the old timer next door stopped over for a beer and gave me a bunch of pipe threading equipment. Saved me from having to buy a ¾ inch die but now I got way more than I need!

A few used pawn shop scores, mixed in with an amazon, kotulas, and zoro order. I am actually disappointed in the Facom adjustable pin spanner wrench. It is made in Taiwan and if you adjust it open too far it falls apart and it is a pain to get back together.

Pictures removed to save space..

I especially like the water fire extinguisher.. We purchased one several years back for a buck at an auction... fun and practical...

Yep. Best neighbor ever. Guy is in his mid Eighties and was a totally tool junkie. He's the type of guy that would love this site if he used computers. I tend to help him out now and then with random things around his place, and he tends to give me project advice etc. Definityly leaned a lot from the guy.

What's up with all of this flex head with no locking position? Locking flex head or go home.

I have honestly never understood or needed a "locking" flex head so i guess I'll "go home"
Haha

Hows it holding up? Kinda not sure which to go with ridgids or hf

It going pretty well. I notice when the battery is dying it stops half way thru whatever your tryna do. Battery life isn't that great either. So definitely get a extra one. I'm looking into getting some replacement batteries that can fit. I'll keep you posted!

Had a non-locking flex head slip a few times and each time I narrowly avoided some type of disaster...figured I would pick one up and see what the fuss is about.

Yeah...super pumped.....recently had some projects and realized that I needed some better tools and had some serious holes as well......trying to spend the $$ smartly and only buy once but also not kill the bank account or cc's.

Great choices going with quality USA stuff. All of those are great buys. Obviously not the cheapest, but cheap isn't always the best investment as we all know.

Gear wrench socket set from advance auto. Guess the case isn't up to keeping the sockets in place during shipping. This set isn't for me. Bought it as a gift but the quality looks pretty good. The ratchets have some back drag but the heads are really slim.

Saw and stand I got this past weekend at Lowe's and Sears respectively.

Torque Wrench at local Autozone today. On sale for $19.99. Used it today to torque mounting bolts on brake caliper and lug nuts.

None of mine flop around?

When u loosen the pivot bolt, apply some wd40 and then shake the ratchet at someone like ur pissed at them,......yes they may flop around.
I'm still confused tho when I randomly hear a person talking about flopping. I would like to see how they use it because I know I pretty much always have a hand on the other end putting pressure down etc..

What do you do when you can't access the other end? And a wrench isn't long enough or is not at the right angle.

This exactly....like when you have to fish the ratchet behind a harness or hose or something but need the head to stay at a particular angle to get it on the fasteners. Sometimes space is tight and you have to put the ratchet on and THEN get your hand on it.

If it's that floppy on you I would hope you would be smart enough to tighten up the pivot screw along with a little lock tight. Problem solved

Just got this Snap On 95th Anniversary ratcheting screwdriver off the truck today. The picture isnt clear enough to show that the handle is actually a Pearl White and looks much better in person.
