Well I finally bought a tool I've always wanted but had no real need. But man are they sure cool and also my first Stahlwille purchase.

And now a question for you guys. This ain't working, anybody got any recommendations for a wrench rack that'll work?

Looking at how they had them packed in the box has me thinking about machining a rack, but I'd sure rather just buy a piece of plastic if possible.

Those Stahlwille's sure are nice, I got that set to last week, as have a few others here, we are all making use a really great deal on them. I haven't found a storage solution that works well for them yet either.

Those are real nice!

I've always wanted a set of deep offsets from ONE maker. I've sort of got a ******* set, but they are rusty/crusty and from 8+ companies.

Wuz up Jh,

Ya I have a basic regular metric set I've had for years that I happen to like. But was your standard 8mm through 19mm and regular offset. Funny these were some cheapies bought at the local auto parts store, but I've never had a single issue with one. Here's one of them next to the new set.

Caught some good local deals at Sears. I already had the regular bolt outs so figured the impact version may be a bit of overkill but figured they were cheap enough to pick them up anyway. Everything is USA except the work lights. And after coupons and surprise points it was only $65. So I'm pretty happy with that.

How much did the ratchet set you back? Got any more pictures of it. Looks to be nice

I think the retail was 129.99 - XR1390FPA - There were 3 versions with the comfort handle, this was the mid-length. It is a 90 tooth count. My MAC guy took a couple bucks off and let me trade in a different MAC ratchet I had so it only cost me a few extra bucks out of my pocket. I had zero complaints with that. It feels really nice in my hand and I like the action of it so far. I think eventually I'll be picking up the longer version, although I don't have a need for it right now.

Dropped a cup out of my ball joint press this morning and it rolled under my toolbox and it finally made me mad enough to bend over and buy this. It almost makes ball joints fun. Almost.

I also got a ctr761 but my phone decided I didn't really want to save the picture of it.

I've heard that's the best, but pricey.

The Toolest Guy: does that wheel lug socket have rubber or plastic coating to prevent knicking the wheels?

The cover is a plastic of some sort.
Worth noting is that they are a lot thinner than most impact sockets, which can be useful for some wheel types and lug nuts.

P.S. Ko-ken also make an aluminum socket, which is to reduce damage to soft lug nuts.

A new arrival from Japan today.
A few box end spanners from Kyoto Tool Co. They are even nicer to touch than they look. Surprisingly light as well.

Hey man. I've got both. A set of standard offsets as well as deep offsets, but they are REALLY old. They've seen a lot of use too. Come to think of it though, I think my metrics are incomplete. The SAE sets are pretty filled out. Just ugly as sin.

That looks like a nice set. I just have a cobbled together set myself, but never seem to find a use for them anway.

As far as storage, try this. Three different lengths. Pricey but nice.

Thanks Matt, I might just give those a shot.

Picked up a set of wrenches off craigslist for $100 bux. I don't use standard very much but now I have a matching set considering all my metric wrenches are snap on. Didn't think I got a bad deal considering it goes up to 15/16"
Snap on flank drive + SAE wrench set 3/8-15/16"

Not a bad deal at all. I am the same way all my snap-on stuff is metric since I really don't use standard much. So the standard stuff I have is either craftsman or harbor freight.

Saw a Gearwrench truck at Wendy's today and decided to take a look and grab a catalog. They are having a buy one get free deal on mid length sockets. Metric 1/4" and 3/8" sockets for $54.95

I've got Craftsman shallow 1/4" 3/"8 and 1/2" and deep 3/8" metrics, this fills a gap that may or not really be there and give me an opportunity to try out their sockets.a42481f7dcdbab43638a26c656e426ea.jpg

Picked up a black centre section for my toolbox.

I needed just a little extra space and it was over 50% off despite being new

I've got two black trims coming for the drawers too.

Picked up three Baileys fiberglass poles, Jameson Pruner head, and blade attachment, and a Fred Marvin 330 mm blade. Works pretty well and works your upper body! [emoji106]

I'm back again today. Went down to the Ingersoll Rand distributor and picked up some of their cordless power tools.
RRP on Ingersoll Rand cordless tools in Australia is generally higher than (or very close to) Milwaukee. Definitely higher than Bosch, Hitachi etc. They ended up giving me a MASSIVE discount, and the price paid was cheaper than I could of picked up the equivalent Bosch pieces for.

For those that are interested. On all tools and/or boxes it states 'Designed by Ingersoll Rand USA'.
Ratchet Wrench and Impact Wrench 'Made In China'.
LED Task Light, Grease Gun and Impact Sockets 'Made In Taiwan'.
And the two 20v 1.5ah Batteries are 'Made In Poland'

R3130 Ratchet Wrench and W5130 Impact Wrench.

L5110 LED Task Light and 3/8" IR Impact Sockets.

LUB5130 Grease Gun.

One con I have found so far is the friction ring on the Impact Wrench is very tight on most of my impact sockets. I am hoping that it will loosen up after a few uses, as right now the only way to remove a socket is with a small pry bar.
This is the first tool with a snap ring type friction ring I have had. Every other tool has had a spring loaded detent retention system. This is what the Ratchet Wrench uses, and the sockets are secure but can be easily removed by hand.
Any one have any thoughts on this? Is it a common issue with these types of friction rings?

Yes. It's common enough. It will break in. But be patient as it may take a while.

Totally normal. They compress down after use, but are usually a pain in the *** new, especially with new impact sockets.

Also, those IR impact sockets will do you great. I've had a full set of 1/2 & 3/8 for 3 or 4 years now of hard use and abuse with air and cordless impacts, and haven't had a single issue. Even the surface coating with the labeling holds up great.
