How do you get such deals! I'm lucky to walk off the snap on truck with a free pair of socks or 5 bucks off, guy doesn't deal at all :(

I got lucky by picking a nice guy!! Pure fluke!! He knows I am just getting started replacing my tools, and most of the snap on promos are geared towards guys like me... He said "If I can save you guys some money I will".

He's going to a snap on show next month and said he will try and find me a bogo 1/2 sae impact set...

Metric 1/2 bogo, of course I still spent the money I saved, just bought more stuff!! More money for him, more stuff for me!! win/win!!

He knocked $75 off the 1/2 metric chromes, and 10 bucks of the green picks...

He also swapped a 3/8 drive 13mm that must have been a mislabeled 1/2 inch...

If your buddies are getting discounts and you don't, maybe he just doesn't like you. ;)

Seriously though, waffle on purchases, and maybe he'll throw in some incentives. Or just straight up ask for a some freebies/discounts. Say "if I buy these two, will you throw in something for free?"

And if he says no, kick him to the curb and deal behind his back with another driver. Or switch brands.

Right here. If I want to buy tools, as a regular truck customer, I want something, discount/"free"-stuff in return. The website works just fine, and I usually get my stuff faster, since somehow 90% of what I want is never on the truck. :wtf:

Truck service only makes sense when there are incentives. Tools can be found everywhere, so it's up to the truck to find a way to make their brand/venue desirable to you.

I've heard the snap on dealers are told by the big wigs that they have to sell for a certain price... I call BS, if the distributor buys the tools on the truck, they can't control his/her prices. So I don't know what to do with this guy... I'll ask what a price is and ask what he will take for it... and he says the same price? Lol best discount I've got through him was .75 cents on a tire gauge :shocking:

heh..if he's anything like my last dealer he'd even mark up the bogo's, if he even took part in the promotions at all. My new tool guy will even knock a few dollars off of the BOGO price and takes part in most, if not all of the good promos that come down the pipe.

Went out to Canadian Tire on my lunch break. Grabbed a pair of Chanellock pliers (25% off) and a package of 15 grinder disks (5$). Along with 50$ worth of light bulbs for the house

Gift from my Father-in-law. He asked me to find a place to order a quality cotter pin remover. Suggested Wilde via HJE. He ended up ordering two of each and gave me a set. Standard 7" and the long 12" versions. Very stout and quality feel to them.

My first Japanese screwdriver set, and sold in Princess Auto of all places (Princess Auto is a Canuck Harbor Freight type store for my American friends, ie lower level tools mostly, but with the occasional quality item).

I wanted a specific JIS spec screwdriver set, and I know most European makers specs are equivalent even though they don't actually specify JIS as it's an obsolete spec, but this way if I'm working any Japanese equipment I know I won't cam out critical screws. Besides, the handles are cool :):

I know this is not a typical garage tool, but it is a tool also, and besides I love to prepare steaks on a BBQ by cutting meat with a good knife, I found this at Home Hardware and was curious about it and bought it for $30 for a german steel japanese name knife, I was surprise on how sharp it is went I use it on my last BBQ.

How is the fit on a fastener with those? I want to have a set in the event I run into a 12 point bolt.

So these are new things to me but they belonged to my dad who past away 9 years ago. As I'm going through some boxes I stumble on to these. I never knew this stuff was in there.

Inside I found these.

The router is unused U.S. made Skill router, a CP air hammer / chisels and this .27 calibre Hilti. Says it's an HDX600 on the box but the gun is an HDX500. I have had my dad boxes in the garage for years. Just never bothered because I thought it was full of his old junk.

The router is interesting. I can't find anything on them except some that are for sale. The Hilti is also interesting because I never seen a .27 calibre. I have seen .17 and .22
I don't work in construction so I may just be ignorant about Hilti.

Had to see what the fuss is about impacting ratchets. Also needed locking extensions since the buttons on my Craftsman set keep sticking

Changed the coils on a Civic 2012 today made 100$ cash. Went to CT bought some On Sale tools. Walked out with a 470$ worth of tool and it cost me 235$ - 100$ I made on the side. 135$ out of my paycheck for all this.
