All of my guns are Bostitch but I decided to try Dewalt. Dewalt is my favorite battery powered tools. Main reason for the purchase was I needed a replacement 15ga angled finish nailer and HD doesn't carry Bostitch. Also, they honor Harbor Freight 20% coupons...You heard me, they will take 20% HF coupons for name brand tools. I almost asked if I could get the standard 5% discount too for using my HD charge card, but I didn't want to go full tightwad.


I tried again a few days ago to use a HF coupon for a tool and they refused.



This dewalt is light and I like the pin point safety. Not sure if I'll ever use the sequential trigger or blow gun option, but they're there.

3 used crows feet, Gedore and Snap-on
BGS XZN bit set, since VW uses a ton of them and I need to remove one of the tie down points in my van.
SK stuff, UK sourced old stock, Wobble extension set is in a Facom era box.

Unless things have changed since I last checked, the screwdrivers and pliers were still being made in France, and even sold under other Stanley brand names.

Some of the soft face mallets were still being made in France. Steel tool boxes and other storage units were being made in France.

A bunch of the precision measuring equipment was being manufactured in France, although I'm not sure whether Facom ever manufactured these themselves or whether another company like Hexagon Metrology made these for them.

I was under the impression the wide opening locking pliers were made for Facom by another French company such as Dolex, so the production was unlikely to have been moved outside of France.

A bunch of the Facom tools were also manufactured in Italy at manufacturing locations that were part of USAG. When Stanley purchased Facom they kept the Italian factories and still manufacture a lot of items there.

The Facom flare nut wrenches, or at least the flanged ones that I've seen have all said France. Its possible these were being made for Facom by another company like SAM Outillage, so these are likely still France as well.

Facom also rebranded tools such as shears and pliers from other companies such as Edma, and Deville SA. Both these firms still manufacture in France and still appear to supply tools for Facom.

Picked up a few things at the flea market yesterday and my compression tester came in the mail. 23 1/2" metric chrome Blackhawk sockets. USA made for $20. My Star Compression tester from ebay that I got for $22 shipped. The equivalent to the matco tester. I have one more order coming in from Tooltopia then I'll have to wait until next check to buy anything else. Have my eye on a giant Matco Tap and Die set and a Matco 3/8" chrome metric swivel socket set at the pawn shop.

Yep, still quite a bit French Made.
The other 500 series pliers I have are all French made, including a recently bought pair, it may just be the 507 which are a bit different anyway, certainly finished differently as well.

My son and I got these for $7 at a garage sale, a jeweler's hammer and a Tuffy screwdriver were in this score and are chronicled elsewhere on JG..

As a home garage tinker fella/small side jobs I came to realize having a 1/2" and 3/8" snap on gun was kind of exce$$ive so I sold both of them and bought a ir 2135timax. They seem to have really good reviews on here. Seems like the mg725 has a little more power according to some people but I think I will have better reliability in the long run and it's a more middle range between the 2. I think it's a nice gun

Little late, but better than never start of the 3/4" set. Ratchet looks like it has barely been used, breaker bar has never had a socket on it.
1/2" ratchet has seen limited use.
Both ratchets need a lube job, some work to do tonight.

I'm still finding a few Craftsman-USA goodies at Sears. A chisel holder and a 3/4" cold chisel, both very useful items. In fact, I realize now I should have bought the chisel holder sooner after just removing a rusty muffler clamp. I could have saved a little extra pain from my left thumb and forefinger.

With some old shelf prices, and Shop Your Way points, it was $13.43 for both tax included.

They still had one set of USA 1/2" drive deep metric sockets. But they were in sizes I don't use frequently and I have covered with deep impacts that serve just as well.

Scored these hard handle Instincts on Kijiji, basically brand new. The #2 phillips looks like it was used maybe twice.

Also, got the flex flare nut wrenches on sale at CT. These are rebranded Gearwrench. The font for the size stampings is identical. My buddy has the GW ones and they are definitely the same. Interesting.

Finally got my tooltopia order. Sunex sockets and Bushing driver Master set. I'm trying to find a set of 3/8 impact swivels that have the ring around them that are as big as the older snap on ones or smaller.
