My dealer picked up a promo on some of the new tech angles. The 1/2 hasn't showed up yet. I prefer orange but I'm not too picky on color.

NICE tools man  One of the best purchases I've ever made

I was using this to dig a footing yesterday

Nice! I was debating going up to the te70 (looks like that's what you've got). I couldn't justify the price difference for how often I need it.

Got both of those on promo for $1099. Stepping up to the 70 would have been another $400.

PL, Hilti makes excellent tools as I'm sure you know. Congrats!

Killer TW 85 even if it is green :). I have three of the older gen tech wrenches and luv'em.

Welp. another order of **** tools made it in today. The survivalist air pressure gauges are for the kids and wife and the plastic chisels "might" come in handy someday :p

Now for something I thought I wanted, but after playing with them I'm not all that sure. I got all three sizes of Steelman ratchets. I bought them because of the 160 tooth count and limited 2.5 degree swing. It all sounded good in the add and it sure does make a hell of a lot of clicks, but the back drag kills any benefit I can see right now. The selector rotates with the rotation of the head which is really hard to get used too. And last but not least, there's a reason these are made by Steelman, holt **** are these things HEAVY. The 1/2" feels like you're swinging a lead hammer. There isn't one damn thing about these that feel nimble. I'll put them to work this weekend and see if my impression changes and do a write up about them.

I don't think there's much of a difference I know there's really no difference between 70 and 80 a 100 watts that's why didn't purchase that Yeah I got it almost new for $600
I couldn't pass up a deal like that

The shovel attachment, 8" steel scraper, and ground rod driver are great tools worth there wait in gold. I also use there other corded and cordless tools and have been extremely satisfied

I have a lot of the same feelings about those ratchets, but I have kept them and am happy with them. The backdrag is probably the biggest issue with them, and I've gotten in the habit of keeping one finger on the socket / extension to counteract that and that allows you to operate them normally.
I also kinda prefer the weight. They just feel really beefy and nice to hold to me. I haven't had an obstruction situation where the low swing arc came into play but as you may have noticed, the heads are huge as well. You'd need some pretty specific circumstances to have these things "save the day" but I still like using them.

Damn, wish I could get that kind of deal. I am in the market for the 1/2" version, in green! Just going to pay off my account a bit, then pull the trigger. My guy told me he could get it, but didnt mention any promos.

Kunk regardless of the promo, try and make a deal, it is an expensive enough tool, he should be able to do better on the price. My driver gave me about 15% but not quite. I really didn't care because he sold some used tools for me and got me more money than I thought was possible.

I added a few new tools this week, the spool gun was from the Miller promo and was free. The hammers are made by Nupla and are made in the USA.

Maybe, but I would have to put some more money down up front to get him to move. Right now I can really only afford payments.

And.... MORE HAMMERS?!?!?

Can you give us a picture of your entire collection? I am really curious.

Ok. I bought a HF electric tool. I saved the box and receipt so I am covered. i picked up a 2500sqft floor job for tomm. Pretty straight forward with the exception of the existing hardwoods running under the cabinets and island in the kitchen. I have rented the toe kick saw from depot before, but thought maybe I should buy one. The Crain saw is $380 and the HF is $69. Like I said, I kept my receipt.

Oh no, not another tool I am missing. Now I have to go out and buy this new tool. I swear I have to quit this habit of reading Garage Journal it's an addiction.

That's a killer deal you got. I have to pick up the ground rod driver, doing them by hand is getting old.

Which shovel, scraper and rod driver do you use?

Kunk, I may have to do that, but right now I am pretty busy so it may have to wait.

K-Dog, that is a large adjustable spanner wrench for hydraulic rams and other things. It was supposed to help me on my excavator ram rebuild, but it really was not what I needed. I may actually return it.

I did organize some hammers today, actually pulled a bunch out of my tool box. I am trying to decide what should stay in the shop and what should stay in the truck, well once I have a permanent truck.

The new hammers were Nupla (USA Made), I wanted a decent set with wood handles so I can use them around the torch without any fear of melting. I still use my dead blow ball peins, but I keep them further away. I ended up selling mine, I got $195 for them on eBay, considering I paid $135 I made a little profit, I don't collect screwdrivers and I really didn't want to use them.

Went into Napa, came out with this. d0a35b8ba3d2acab027d9929d02c45ae.jpg

US made Brass Hammers are rare as hen's teeth.

And the other hammers they have are some of the nicest I have ever seen.

If only I hadn't just blew my wad on Trusty Cook.

MagnumForce,

Very nice!

What is the head weight of that brass hammer? Would you mind saying how much it cost you?

Thanks,

Dave

I used an Aluminum Rigid 48 inch at work Saturday. Absolutely no substitute when it's needed, at 600 bucks it's supplied by work.

I think this might be the dinkiest combination wrench i've ever seen, and the quality is pretty nice, but of course it's snap-on:D. I had to have it for my key ring!

They are very nice indeed. I got a call from Trusty Cook saying they were sending me a free gift for being a good customer, it won't be here until Monday or Tuesday, so the suspense is killing me.

That would be awesome! I don't think it would be a shirt, they didn't ask my size, it could be a nice hat though. All I know is if they do the blue hammers again, I am getting some more. If they ever do green, I am going to buy one of each again.

If you decide you don't need one of those blue ball peens let me know

They match my box and compliment the green so well. I think it would be hard to part with any of them now. I may even end up with some red ones for the truck box, I think they will be easier to see and less likely to get left behind at the end of the day.

Replaced a broken Mayhew bit with one that I can warranty, and I lost my tread depth gauge again...
