Not new but might as well be. Given to me by my retired brother-in-law. Said he only got them a few months before he retired and wasn't sure if he'd EVER used them.

I'm not a pro mechanic but I assume since they're Proto they're pretty good(?)

How do they compare to the Craftsmans you've got in the same drawer?

Gotta say I like the gearwrench more. Better grip, more surface area and a better design for leverage. And they feel like they bite quite a bit more but that could just be cause they're new. And they have the hex for a wrench

Got an early Christmas present from my wife. She wanted to hit the Black friday sales.

Two 44" Harbor freight cabinets, one top cabinet, one side drawer cabinet and one end box cabinet. Along with a 1000lb lift cart table. Also got a new Kurt D688 vise, and a mitutoyo caliper.
Now add a 10" 3 jaw chuck, and rotary table back-plate.
Then throw in a 24 x 36 Enco surface plate with stand an a dual beam height gauge that should arrive this week.

I did not even know she listened much when I muttered around about tools and stuff. Apparently she pays attention far more than I gave her credit for. I don't deserve her. :)

The lift cart was really nice to get the cabinets out of the truck and it will sure be useful moving and placing the 400+ lbs of surface table.

Wowser!! I'm walking around in a Christmas cheer fog right now. Greatest wife in the world.

I already got her Christmas present months ago. I saved money and booked us a 7 day Cruise to the carribean on a Holland America ship for our thirtieth anniversary together. I finally told her about the trip just last month as a suprise.. I guess this is her way of saying thanks. Bu she did not have to do this!! A hug and kiss and I love you is all I need. I'm blown away.

Picked this up today, Maplin is an electrical store in the UK.

This tester is sold by many companies here, some charge £80 for it!

Maplins price £10

Nice set :shocking:

I haven't seen Xcelite for years since I left the electronics industry in the 1980s. Sorry my son added the shocking head, he loves that emoji.

I love Xcelite nut drivers because they aren't chamfered. This can make a huge difference on thin nuts. Some other brands are so chamfered they're all but useless.

Are those Irwin snips USA-made?

The excellent USA-Made Wiss M3R snips are $9.97 on Amazon every day, but I don't know about the Irwins.

Never realized how cheap the Wiss ones are at Amazon. The Irwins are made in Taiwan.

Mail man dropped these off today. Ebay seller said they were used, but I can hardly find a mark on them. 89 bucks shipped I couldn't resist. I've got the green set at work, these will be for home shop.

We have a lot of different style air fitting at work some very good names like Parker... None of them are as good as milton like I have at the house.

Standard fitting on top vs pcl xf that we use at work, in my own workshop i run the milton high flow, have a tendancy to leak but if you take the rubber ring out and leave it in petrol it swells up and stops the leaking [emoji12]

Just ditched my "louder than a NASA space launch" Crapsman oiless compressor and upgraded to a CA Air Tools twin aluminum tank unit. Wow! So quiet and smooth! I can actually hold a conversation in my shop while this little unit is running. $207 on sale, free shipping at Home Depot. I set it on a $7 HF mini dolly so I can roll it around the shop as needed.

On a pc youll need to use photo bucket or imageshack to upload the photos to and then use the little picture on the top of the reply and paste the direct link into it from your site...

Not the greatest explanation

Welcome to GF im fairly new here myself but been reading the forums for ages before i joined

That's the compressor I have at my NC home that ran for 4 weeks non-stop when the tubing from the tank to the manifold cracked. Make sure to turn it off if unattended for extended periods and check the tubing for hardness and cracking. SD
