Am I weird in wishing the mini set had a 5" Pliers Wrench instead? Of course the easy solution is to by the 5" Cobra and 5" Pliers Wrench individually. Not that I need either right now anyway. :p

I sort of thought that in advance. I had to ask myself the question:

what sort of company do I think Knipex is? Do I think it is the sort that
(a) packages up the stuff it can't sell to shift units? or
(b) likes its customers and puts together packs to introduce them to useful products they mightn't otherwise buy?

well, I certainly didn't know for sure, but I answered (b) on the basis that the tools I already had (10" cobras, 10" wrench pliers, 8" combis, 8" needle nose) had an honesty and user-focus to them that I felt bespoke the latter.

I think, seeing this pack, I was right. Which is to say, I think the 5" cobras feel like the optimal sub-10" size, and I think the 6" wrench pliers feel like the optimal sub-10" size.

Couldn't be happier tbh.

Finally got the last of my Ernst clips and finished off the top drawer of my HF 44 box.

Received a Knipex tool tote in the mail today. It's 12"x 7" nylon with an embroidered logo. It was a freebie for submitting a tool review for their 8" mini bolt cutters.

Thanks to the hot deals thread, nabbed this. Gen 2 Fuel hammer drill, and impact driver, 4 M18 5.0 AH batteries, and a jobsite organizer for $335. Black Friday special (well, Wednesday before, they sold out hours after posting it).

Absolutely no complaints about the HF, solid box, well worth the money...not a pro box by any means but for my DIY stuff and working on my Harley it does the job well.

Those look damn handy for specialty stuff. Is there much flex or wandering when tightening them up? And where did you get them, I'd sure like to have a couple where I could make my own attachments. Cutting up and or modifying my C clamps has me shedding tears every time I do it. Thanks!

Flex, No they are stout, can be purchased several places, found them on Amazon

They fit the bill for sure.......

I decided to move over to Wera screwdrivers, hex drivers and nut drivers for my guitar work (I build guitars) so I bought all the sizes needed for guitars to replace all my green Snap-On stuff which are better suited to automotive work than guitars it turns out. The Wera's fit guitar screws much better.

That is good to know because the only time I use screw drivers these days is when changing hardware like bridges or pick ups. I may pick up a set.

I had a look at your website. Beautiful work. That black Tele style guitar is amazing.

Picked these up as a merry Christmas to me. But goodness gracious is the case huge. I wish the metric and standard were split into two sets. Huge box, but the quality of everything seams really good.

The two tap adapters are 3/8" drive. Will come in handy every once and a while.

Mind if I ask what the combo deal and the strippers are worth?

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
The strippers were only $33 on the truck. Im certain that it was a truck special price. They are really nice.

The combo deal was like $117ish? I was looking for a flex head 1/4" ratchet only and it was like $105 for SO. The ratchet that came with it is a bit longer and has a hard handle but I think itll do just fine. I already have a pair of the slip-joints it comes with but its my favorite pair so Ill hang on to them I suppose.

about .... $15 - $17 a pair ... go to Ebay ... search " KAL America pliers " - seller: donvito-NY (if you want the full-size pliers, seller is bowertools )
I got three pairs direct from proamerica ( proamericatools.com ) on a black Friday special at 40% off MSRP.
after I got a look at them I ordered some more from donvito-NY. still have some on the way yet. if you want to buy multiple units maybe he'll deal with you on prices. ;)
(he's got a boatload of other pliers too.)

Nope. Home Depot didnt run a sale even close to this good. It was from an online company, International Tools. I guess some people here were skeptical if it was legit. I took the chance, and glad i did!

Awesome, nice score. I've been waiting for HD or Lowes to come out with a good sale but the only one is buy a selected kit plus a bare tool and get $150 off.

Couple Craigslist pick ups from a few weeks ago.

Always wanted a MiniDuctor and found one for a price I couldn't pass up. Complete kit with all the attachments for 325.

Found a Festool UG cart with the wings for 400, didn't even argue on the price and it was only an hour away. Guy never even used the wings. He built a really nice custom cut station for the saw so he had no need for it. Was never thinking of buying it new but after using it over the weekend it's well worth even the full price. The kapex with the cart is easier to lift/carry than my 12" Bosch slide on it's own :lol_hitti

Two recent arrivals.

A KD wrench intended for the crank pulley on small ford engines. I plan on using it to try to reach a hard-to-reach nut on a transmission.

Also got this stubby stanley 17mm ratcheting wrench. Noticed my metric gearwrench stubby set didn't have this size. Most ones I found for sale went for at least $15 before shipping. Got this one for about 9 dollars shipped.

Got this today, haven't had a chance to use it yet. Called a lug hanger or lug bolt guide, holds the rim in place on Audis/BMW s/etc with lug bolts.

Do they have tabs on them? Are they hard or soft?

Might be replacement drawer detents

Ok, figured it out. The drawer handles have labels with plastic covers, these go on each end to keep the labels and covers from slidding out.
