I was looking at air hammers on the truck last month and my bud said to wait because there is a bogo deal coming up... I asked for a green one...

He called me last night saying it was here...

Part number is PH3050BGCHL5 The website shows the kit at $692, no bogo... I paid $446...

The bogo in green is a limited run I was just told...

Gonna have to text my dealer in the morning

So we had a hankering for some sonic blasts. Pulled into sonic lot which connected to a HD. See a sign on sonic that blasts are half price after 8PM; it's 7:55. So I say to the Mrs., drop me off at the HD door, I need some more latex gloves after I took care of another armadillo on our property earlier this morning...be back in five.
Wife and kids circle the lot.
So that's my mission. As soon as I enter HD I notice a huge line for all four self checkouts. (scared this won't be a five minute trip back to the wife and kids). I try to hurry so I ask an employee where the latex gloves are...he says follow me. Brings me directly to the nitrile glove boxes; I snag two. He asks are you ready to check out. I say I want to swing by the hammers. So he leads me there then carries on his own way. I snag the Estwing 24oz BP I eyeballed last week. ( also eye balling the dead blow and leather wrapped claw hammer). As soon as I make it to the main front row I see the employee who had just helped me. He gave a definite nod and then hollared "next customer on SEVEN" which is right were I stepped out. I must've bypassed some fifteen weekend warriors. Shoulda tipped the guy!

Can't beat service like that!

That guide would be most handy. Off the truck?

Bill

Yup, i think $1.50, but my driver just gave it to me. I bought a used Snap On chisel set recently and it was missing the gage out of it. My OCD had to replace it.

Are those used with a handle or what do you mount them in?

Nope, let me see if i can find a video, but you hold one end up to your workpiece, and you pull back on the other end and release. They work surprisingly well!

kunkernator, thanks for the info. I'm going to see the woman this week and that means another trip to the new SO guy/truck. What the hell, I need (want) a new 1/2" ratchet anyway.

I had to go to YouTube to find out how those work. I've never heard of them before. Now I must have them! :)

I got them many moons ago... used them once... there they sit. There are normal tools that work better IMHO. The angle of the force from the spring always seems to have a vector not exactly perpendicular to the surface being forced upon. In other words... them things don't fire straight as an arrow. Again IMHO.

Pretty much this. I got a set a few years ago. Distinctly remember using them twice. They are well made and look and feel nice, just haven't ran into the scenarios I envisioned when I bought them.

The min/max are the radius for the striking end. to prevent flying shrapnel from a mushroomed end.

But wouldnt that vary based on the diameter of the punch or chisel? If they are larger or smaller?

Doesn't matter how big or small the chisel is. At some point the tip will fit in there
