Some new hammers!

I saw this post the other day, and was looking at their site a bit. Then I was on the Cornwell truck yesterday looking at his hammers. I thought they looked suspiciously similar. They even had the flag sticker on them. I asked him if they were made by Trusty Cook, so he looked them up. Sure enough, they are!

Those are a very nice set, the only reason I went with Snap On was because of the green handles, I am pretty sure I have a problem.

Bought a green fender cover to use as a counter-top protector and to match all my green tools lol. Nice contrast to the blue I think.

Thought some of you may appreciate these. American made Craftsman wobble extensions found at my local Sears hardware. Even better was the fact they were on sale and only $13

I might have to check out Sears by me. I've been wanting some wobbles and I'm willing to spend $13 on them  :lol_hitti

I definitely would, you never know what's hiding in the back that they never put out. Just like the Ace hardware by me, stacked with USA Craftsman but their stuff is priced similarly to SK. And always check the back of the racks because they push the old stuff back with the new stuff.

Last week, for the second time, I had to track down a tool truck to get some oddball torx variation to finish a job. No more:0181c1ba556d58a8af81d9ed8e6df874.jpg9ce84efe3d762f9698848ba45c5b305e.jpg

Been on a selling frenzy lately so not much buying. Did pick up a new wrench roll and warrantied a bunch of long overdue Matco wrenches primarily due to chrome peel (they were used hard). These must be from the new Apex factory because the forgings are very clean and sharp as opposed to the older ones which were rounded/soft. I have a couple sets of these so I took a few comparison photos. Aesthetically the new are very pretty wrenches easily on the level of any other brand so +1 for Apex there. Yes Matco combos are still USA made and sourced from Apex/Armstrong....for now.

Wrench roll is nice. It is made in China which is a downer but I did hunt a bit for USA made ones that were made of canvas or fabric and they basically don't exist, at least not found easily. Even the Snap-On fabric wrench rolls are from China. Not a fan of PVC/Vinyl of Wright and Proto. On the plus side this roll is huge and fits these extra long wrenches quite well with room to spare.

Got this set as a late birthday present.

Works great and the batteries charge fast. Very happy so far! Going to use the impact driver to replace a dead Snap On 7.2v that I used every day. Any other tools you suggest to go with these batteries?

I buy myself late birthday presents all the time. I just bought a 6-month late Mansaver post driver and then a 6-month early gasoline compressor from HF to run the post driver.

I second this. My driver said he could only get red. I want orange!

JCK8G for the green. My driver definitely had orange ones too. Guessing probably same part# but with an O instead of the G at the end of it.

I picked up this Knipex 4-PC. Precision Retaining Ring Pliers Set #001957 from Chad's toolbox for $77.84. The roll pouch works for me since I won't use them often.

Broke this out of the package today. Won it at a local Rotary auction-fest.

I have been using the BluePoint version of this for YEARS. Tough long lasting light. In ten years ( +/- ) I have only had to replace it once, the clicker part of it would not hold.
It's a great light. Mine has been dropped from various heights, gone for a swim in both coolant and oil. Its stands up to the abuse.

My brother texted me yesterday and asked if I wanted a vise that was being thrown out. Of course the answer is always yes, and he showed up with this poor, mistreated wilton.

Anyone know where I could find a swivel base for it?

It's stamped 176 so I'm guessing it was actually Manf in 1971. Has 101088 stamped in one part. I'd intended to have more information for this post, it's in pieces on one of my benches, but I got busy with something else and had to leave.

Works been slow, haven't picked up a whole lot. Did get a nice deal on the mac air ratchet. Medium size, really nice weight. Love the size, easy to hold under the hood.

Proto extractor set, hopefully I will never need it. Haha.

Picked up some more sockets. He gave me a promo price on the big metric set with axle nut sockets. Ordered 1/2 SAE deep impacts. Also grabbed an LED light, 12pt shallow 3/8, and 3/8 locking flex...expensive day.

The MAC van had it on special with an extra battery so I couldn't resist.

I've also got a few more goodies arriving next week.

Ha! A 9mm.

90, how was the weather on Friday? I was there Thursday and cancelled my plans for Friday because it looked like rain.

There was one vendor that had to be a Snap On dealer. No markings anywhere, but he had about 6 tons used Snap On with a few Mac and Matco thrown in. He knew his product and priced accordingly.
