Busy few days for me....

These GearWrench clip removal tools were on the Snap-On truck on special. I have wanted them for a while, but just now got around to getting them. I actually needed them this morning.

got some tools.. first is a box cover that kinda counts as a tool right? super happy with it. quality is top notch and it fits like a glove!

next is a snap on drawer trim installation tool for my kr1000 that I refinished. I put the yellow tape on to protect the face but it is well made and still usa!

got some gearwrench knock off cobras, some high leverage needle nose and punch set from tooltopia.. not super impressed with them so far but we will see. also found that craftsman usa 40oz hammer in the street as I was road testing a customers car :3gears:

otc 9 way puller

astro hose clamp pliers

lisle dual caliper tool and a Hansen tray for torx and hex sockets (made in usa).

astro disc brake kit.. the quality is meh but I don't do too many of these brakes to justify a nicer set..

and a gearwrench fan clutch wrench set

oh and the root beer is pretty much a tool as well lol:thumbup::thumbup:

I have been wanting a metal brake for a while, but could never afford a good one. What kind of modifications are you planning on making to it?

Got these in a few days ago. Haven't had a chance to use them. Wanted a set of these since I seen the knockoffs at harbor freight a few years ago.

So far I added some welds where they lacked on them. Currently I'm working on drilling and tapping holes through the clamp down plate so I don't have to use c clamps to hold the clamping plate down. Also going to add an angle stop device so I can set different angles for multiple pieces.
I made a topic about it. Just search in the general tool discussion board for it

It's funny how I like most of the tools and power tools from Home Depot but they don't carry Irwin. Only lowes does

Still plenty of quality taps out there but you won't find them in a box store. Typically only available from machine shop suppliers.

Picked up a ProPoint 36 Pc. Metric impact set. Seam like really nice sockets for the price. Laser etched and stamped on the opposite side. Needed a few larger sizes over 24mm, and these will fit the bill.

Pro point impacts are great for the money! I have never had a problem with them

Stopped by Sears and finally scored a good deal on a 12" Miter saw blade, made in Germany Craftsman for $31.44. My Dewalt has been dull for a while, I'll probably get it sharpened but I don't want to do without while it's gone. Ordered a closeout in-stock Bosch a while back but some employee nabbed it and it was suddenly out of stock when I arrived.

Got the 8" Bionic wrench, mostly for crimping and chisel holding, on closeout for $7.97.

Two Made-in-Taiwan Gearwrenches, to correct the buying mistake of getting the China ones right after they switched COO, Metric for 14.97 and SAE for 16.97.

I pretty much hate Sears, but I'm always happy to help them towards bankruptcy with closeouts like this and free points. Oh yeah, got another "special event" 10% off the whole thing.

I have the same set and the shallow set which is 26pc as well. You cannot beat the quality of these sets for the money. My proto impact with 1260 ft/lbs puts a beating on em and haven't broken one yet.

Thanks for the lead on these! Thought about them yesterday, looked them up on the website, and realized they had one day left of sale pricing. Went and grabbed them.

I also may have stolen your white crayon idea on the stamps... Might try tire marker as well. I like the look of the highlighted stamp.

If these turn out well, I'll be buying to replace/add to the rest of my 1/2" sockets.

I picked up a Markal "Tyre Marque" tire crayon a few days ago. It works amazing and will perfectly meet my needs for tire marking, but I tried using it to fill in my impact socket size stampings and it didn't work very well. It takes quite a bit of smashing and rubbing to get it to stay in the stampings and it falls out relatively easily too. I even tried hitting it with a propane torch really quickly to melt it into place and that didn't really help either. I'm just going to hold off for now and in the future try a white paint marker or some white out instead.

Thanks for the tip! I was thinking a paint pen as well. It would penetrate well, and a quick wipe with a shop towel will eliminate any excess.

Could always get in touch with my feminine side and try nail polish... Which, now that I think of it, might stand up pretty well!

Nail polish does work quite well. I've used it before, but it was a couple years ago and for the life of me I can't remember what I did with it. All I remember is that I used red. My grandmother used to mark every single thing she owned with simplified operational instructions, etc. written all in nail polish directly on the items. Plastic remotes, metal coffee cans (for storing things), the coffee maker, microwave, computer, tv, etc. all got the polish treatment. Her calligraphy skills weren't that great, but it never seemed to have a problem staying put. Pretty strong smelling when wet though.

My first purchases (that I can think of) of professional grade.

I inherited a Snap-on flathead and a MAC wood handled phillips #2. Those two screwdrivers were my firsts, but this 1/4" ratchet and 26-27" 1/2" pull bar are my first two, new!

Working on my daughters Honda Accord brakes this weekend, had to get a new hand impact tool. The only place to get one around here was the local Advance Auto.

http://www.lislecorp.com/divisions/products/?product=672&division=1&category=11

Anyone know the quality of this? It worked well for what I needed. The bits in the one I had twisted like a pretzel when I used them.

I've used one of those pretty heavily for 5 years or so. I do consider the #3 phillips bits to be somewhat of a consumable though. Periodically I just order a few from Tooltopia along with my normal order. They are under 2 bucks each. If you can abide with throwing away a 2 dollar bit every so often, it should make you happy for a long time.

Love the Channellock adjustable so much. I have the 12" at work, bought the 4, 6, 8, 10, and 15 to compliment it.

Got me a Wilton 36" Aluminum pipe wrench from Amazon.

And some Kant Twist welding clamps from a member here.
