New Craigslist find: Snap On KR42. I don't know the vintage. Any info would be appreciated. I also don't know if there's supposed to be a stay or gas strut on the top, or whether one can be added. The tools migrated over from my other boxes which were getting overloaded.

Today was a good day. First I found this older Craftsman tool box at a garage sale for $2. Does anyone know the time period Craftsman used this logo?

Then I picked up a M12 Fuel set at HD for $135. I have a Dewalt 20V set, these are my first Milwaukee tools and I'm pretty impressed with them.

Then I found these Knipex 4-in-1 electricians pliers at Sears for $23. A sale tag from April that never got taken down apparently. Also found a few Craftsman Pro screwdrivers for $4, I needed a few to fill in spots in my set.

Sorry, but I had mine long before you!

Oh, i know. I wasn't implying you copied me, just no surprise that you chose green over orange or red.

If they had them in Pink, would you sell the green? ;)

Absolutely. I told my dealer even if they did pink for twice the price i would buy it.

Man, that's really nice!! Congrats:beer:

Thanks! Hoping i'll get to use it tomorrow for an engine at work. I have the 1/2" as well and it's awesome to use.

Had a few minutes to kill Friday so stopped in Home Depot and picked these up. Disappointed to see the Estwing prybar was made in Japan. :( Must have been why it was in the clearance bin!

Just getting started.
Right now it's time to do some organizing, cleaning and installing some door sweeps at the tops of my roll up doors to close the gap at the door header.

Soon to be in the toolbox thread.

Where did u get them from?

Local builders supply. Literally across the road from my house.

They cater mostly to pros from painters to carpenters and not so much to consumers.

The advantage is even the no name brands tend to stand up to abuse of a worksite environment.

That said they are sold at pretty much every hardware store here and online

Took advantage of an ebay bucks multiplier and CPO discounts.

M7 Mini (super shallow) 1/2" Impacts. Etched markings are terrible! Im not sure they could of chose a smaller font but that tiny script under the M7 logo is the size. I'll be using these a lot all the same. Been quite a few situations where I could of used the clearance. Length wise they're all about 25mm which is quite a bit shorter than your standard shallow impact. Cheap too. After the kickback they'll only run about $50.

And I generally prefer preformed OE lines wherever I can get them since its such a time saver but not always possible as things get discontinued so I finally broke down and bought my own.

I picked up that same flare kit about a year ago. Love it !!

You are going to love that hex bit set. I have the same one. They are not too long, but not too short, and are the perfect size for most everything i need them for.

Thanks. I have the full Proto set in metric and I like those quite a bit. But these were too good of a deal to pass up and they're basically the same thing.

How much did you pay if i you dont mind me asking? I believe i paid $120 off the truck.

For the Proto or the Mac?

The Proto set j4900ma I got new off eBay for $60.

The Mac set is used, I got it in an auction for about $22 shipped. It needs to have a couple of the hex pieces replaced because they are twisted. That set usually seems to go between $45-50 used with the tray in good shape.

I shop for deals on eBay all the time, though. I know a good deal when I see one.

That AC vacuum pump above cost me $17 shipped.

I have the same Sunex set and AirCat ratchet. You'll love them both.
Yeah! I read all the reviews on Amazon from pro techs who use the sockets 10 hrs a day. The aircat got good reviews too! Starting my timing belt job on the Chrysler next week. I'm stoked to have real tools. Giving all my HD and HF stuff to my nephew who's 18 and in dire need of tools.

Next week I'm also pulling the trigger on Wera Joker ratching wrenches. Metric and SAE.

I have a disease call "Tool Upgrade Fever"

Haha. I hear you man.

Want something else to drain your wallet? Get this next: Astro 1828

It complements the 3280 set nicely. I have it and it's my go to for brake work, light duty suspension work, and even some under-hood work.

LOL! That was on my saved for later Amazon list. It will be shipped with the Joker set. I found a thread here in the nano. Really liked it. The nano will be used for the crank bolt during the timing belt job. Any later front end work.

What's a good lube for the nano and aircat? I was planning on using regular Mobile 1 synthetic engine oil. Is the fancy air tool oil needed?

Mobil one as air tool oil :wtf: That's a new one for me. I know some people use ATF, Marvel Mystery oil, and Air Tool oil. I use PB air tool conditioner. It's cheaper that Mobil 1 and seems to do a great job on my air tools. Just remember to lube your air tools at the end of your shift so, the oil can sit to the tool overnight instead of getting blown out from job to job.

Got it thx for the heads up. I'm a truck driver by trade, not a tech. I plan to travel with this tool, as every truck on the road has a massive 30 cfm air compressor and 15 gallon air tanks for the brakes. I may be lucky to use this every 3 months. With the reviews I read, the aircat should last me the rest of my life. I have a 50 ft 3/8 airhose that hooks to the red glad hand hose, to air up a low trailer tire. Just have to idle the trk have endless air. When I get time to do the timing belt on my car, I'm using the trk for my compressor. The company is cool with me idling the trk, so I'll park it next to my car and zip away. I'm excited to try this lil wrench out.

This is my first air ratchet, so I get a free pass for asking a noob question. HAHA!

Haven't opened the aircat box to read info. But I did see some PB Air Tool oil at Advance Auto. I'll grab some tomorrow.

Am I the the only guy who like the smell of PB Blaster nut lossener? Its like diesel exhaust. [emoji12]

The Nano might not do the crank bolt. Don't judge it if it doesn't. It's good, but it doesn't have the same oomph as my IR 231.

The Nano is not going to do a typical crank bolt IMO. I just used mine on an E12 torx (50ft-lb) that was somewhat rusted and it wouldn't do it. It did do some 75ft-lb engine mounting bolts (18mm) with no problem.

Did some more damage to my account today. Needed a good box and prybar for the truck.

Got a nice Homak 3 drawer tool box, and a 12" Carlisle Pry Bar from Napa. Both for $100 OTD.

Drawers are real smooth and the prybay is a Carlye form Napa's tooline. Very solid. Cant wait to tear some stuff up.

And a Mercedes ME pin removal tool. Someone broke the shop one after a week so I found my own. This will be a tool I won't lend out.
