Here are some tool purchases from the last few weeks:

Menards:

Rockwell Sonicrafter 4.0 AMP 34 pc Kit (Made in China)

This set was on sale for Memorial Day for $99.00. I have a Craftsman 2.5 AMP oscillating multi-tool and decided to upgrade. The Rockwell RK5141K set rates very well on Amazon. The only negative is the adhesion of the sanding discs to the sanding pad. I purchased at Menards a spray bottle of Loctite High Performance Adhesive Spray and will spray it to just the bottom side of the sanding discs during use.

Bosch Oscillating Multi-Tool Blades (Made in Switzerland)

The Bosch 5pc set was on clearance at Menards for $39.99 (Amazon lists it for $60.00). The other Bosch individual blades and adapter were price competitive with Amazon.

Summit Racing Equipment:

Lisle 81800 2 pc Carbide Scraper Set

I wanted to buy for a while the Innovative Tool Super Scraper. However, it is a little pricey and not available locally. I decided to buy the newly released (available since April 2016) Lisle set. The hard rubber handle is comfortable to hold. I have yet to test the sharpness of the tungsten carbide tips of either scraper.

Lisle 18232 Offset Funnel (Made in the U.S.)

This funnel was also released by Lisle in April 2016. This funnel will come in handy once I purchase a new or newer car. For instance, I saw on a friend's 2016 Toyota Corolla, the master cylinder reservoir is tucked under the cowl. It makes refills a chore without this funnel.

Miscellaneous Items From Summit

Beware, Summit Racing now sells select Pittsburgh items from Harbor Freight. I too was shocked! Here is the link to the Pittsburgh fluid funnel on Summit Racing: LINK. There is no description of any kind about this funnel. When I went to customer pickup at Summit and saw that it was from Pittsburgh, I went to returns and then sales to get a price match. I showed sales this Harbor Freight webpage on my smartphone to get the price match: LINK. I can't believe Summit would charge ($10.99) more than double for the same item sold at Harbor Freight ($3.99)!

Frankstools.com:

Merry Tools HS175C (Made in Japan)

Thanks to GJ members "Skin" and "Superautobacs", I too had to purchase the Merry HS175C electrical connector disconnect tool. I purchased it when Frank had it on sale for $39.00. This tool applies pressure on the disconnect tabs without breaking the electrical connector after years being held in place.

Dede...that doesn't surprise me about Summit. I have bought several items over the years that were identical to HF but with a different brand name.....my fluid transfer pump comes to mind. Maybe now it's easier just to cobrand, or they are playing off the name recognition.

Got this Klein 4 pc mini screwdriver set this morning, already used 2 today. I really like the grip, identical to bigger Klein screwdrivers but scaled down. Easily my new favorite minis.

It's SUPERFANTASTICALLY handy. It's by far, the most used pair of pliers in my box. KTC makes a similar one as well, with interchangeable tips, which I also have.

I have added it to my list as well. Do you find the KTC version better than the Merry version? What tips does it come with?

Bought last week and used right away to build a fence gate. $399 minus 10% from coupon PLUS bought in time for 11% rebate match! Was using the x4 impact and drill but these Gen5 seem far better already IMO. Now just gotta get rid of the old set :D

I've been wanting to buy the same chainsaw but haven't seen them on sale. Not in a rush either because I don't have any use for one in the concrete jungle we live in.

Being that Matco hasn't gotten in any locking flexheads in the 24" length, I went with Snap-On. Also picked up an 1 7/16 angle wrench

Went to a benefit for my cousin tonight and there must have been some donations from a Matco driver or something. I got all this in a silent auction for $20 plus 3 hats and 2 shirts. I did donate a good amount of money but I was just happy to see something on the silent auction table I wanted.

Grabbed a nice 1/4" roto ratchet from harbor freight today to keep in the car. I think I may like the feel of it better than my snap on tf72;(

Used some surprise points for the cutter and picks, and I needed the spray trigger for a bunch of small items that need painting for our daughters wedding.

90zcar, those hf swivel heads are my go-to ratchets. I've had a couple 1/4 and a couple 1/2 for years, just got a 3/8 to add to the collection.
