Battery jump box. 1000 amps.

Rated for 6.0L engines.

Nice to have in the truck, but mostly bought it for a little peace of mind while out in the boat.

There are cheaper versions, but they don't have the amps or engine size rating.

The clamps are really flimsy as well.

The NOCO clamps are flimsy?

The amp rating is pure fiction. But don't sweat it, they all are, just like 5 HP ShopVacs that run on 110V/11A. If you want to know what the real rating is, look up the replacement battery specs, or have a battery shop test it.

M6erfan,
The cheap ones have flimsy clamps, the NOCO are quite substantial.

Hangfire,
don't much care about the actual amps, it's still the most powerful unit of this size that I've seen.

If the 1000 amp rating is pure fiction, what do you think about the 300 amp units?

The Germans (Wiha/Hazet) don't make screwdrivers with 3/16-inch slotted tips, they make them with 5 mm tips, so, yes, you need metric screwdrivers. :bounce:

3/16 inch is 4.76 mm. So at 5 mm, the German screwdriver is .24mm or about 10 thousandths bigger.

I guess 10 thousandths of an inch justifies another tool purchase.

I found a couple of old-stock Craftsman USA sockets in useful sizes at Sears. It's pretty much picked over these days and not much open stock left made in U.S. except for screwdrivers. Since the open stock sockets are all Made in China, why can't they at least reduce the prices to Chicom?

The other purchase is an LED AA flashlight from Auto Zone. (I was getting the "free" loaner A/C gauge set). $6 including the batteries, and it's really bright. It was $12.99 if you wanted it in black. I have no problem with pink. My manliness is not reflected in the color of my flashlight.

I just picked this up off of CL for $40. Super sturdy. I've been looking for a rolling stand to put my cheapo drill press on.

Will post pics of it when it's mounted.

I picked these up at a local surplus store. They were having a 25% off sale for customer appreciation. I grabbed them for the track box as my crank bolt is an ARP 12 point piece.

I just got a gb150 and it seems really nice and the clamps/cables are really HD.

Wow someone who uses 5/8" sockets. I feel like I never touch mind, and I feel like I'm always finding 5/8" sockets in clearance bins.

I have two of those callipers. One at work and one at home and they are excellent. I like the digital screen because I can take pictures of the measurements for reference and it is much easier to read than a dial on a picture.

I've wanted both of those for a while. Especially the breaker bar.
